00:53Overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso will be transferred from Jakarta to the Philippines
00:57early Wednesday morning, December 18.
01:00On Monday, December 16, Veloso was transferred from a prison in Yogyakarta City to a women's
01:05jail in Jakarta.
01:07Veloso's parents and sons cancel a trip to Yogyakarta after learning of the planned transfer
01:12to Indonesia's capital.
01:14Veloso's family says they are very happy because Mary Jane will be coming home.
01:19On November 20, the Philippines announced Indonesia decided to allow Veloso's transfer.
01:24Veloso has been on Indonesia's death row for over a decade after a drug-smuggling arrest
01:28in 2010.
01:30She has always maintained that she was duped into becoming a drug mule.
01:33Veloso also has an ongoing case against her traffickers in Nueva Ecija, where she has
01:37yet to testify.
01:40Indonesia has given President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. discretion to pardon Veloso once she is
01:44in a Philippine jail.
01:48The Office of Civil Defense orders the mandatory evacuation of all residents within Mount Kanaon's
01:53six-kilometer radius expanded danger zone.
01:56It warns lahar hazards could impact 13 cities and municipalities across Negros Occidental,
02:01endangering over 640,000 people.
02:05Lahar flowed around midnight on Saturday, December 14, almost a week after Kanaon's
02:09December 9 eruption signaled unrest again.
02:12The order affects residents in the following cities, all identified as high-risk areas.
02:19The OCD says an anticipated low-pressure area still outside the Philippine area could
02:24make the situation worse with heavy rain, increasing the risk of volcanic debris flows.
02:29Moises Padilla and La Castellana mayors say they've already activated local disaster response
02:34teams.
02:36Police and rescuers are now keeping an eye on rivers and streams to monitor mudflow.
02:41So far, authorities are relieved the mudflows had not reached the roads, unlike the June
02:453 Kanaon eruption.
02:49South Korea's opposition-led parliament impeaches President Yoon Seok-yol after a short-lived
02:54attempt to impose martial law last Tuesday, December 3.
02:57The decision still has to be ratified by the Constitutional Court.
03:01If he is removed from office, a snap election will be called.
03:05Yoon's appointed Prime Minister, Han Duk-soo, is now the acting president.
03:09For now, Yoon will remain in office but with presidential power suspended.
03:14Yoon is the second conservative president to be impeached in South Korea after Park
03:18Geun-hye in 2017.
03:21Yoon vows to fight on and says he will never give up, describing the impeachment as a temporary
03:25pause to his presidency.
03:28South Korean political analysts say Yoon was likely listening to the wrong people, such
03:32as right-wing extremists, YouTube personalities, and probably still thinks he did the right
03:37thing.
03:41Students returned to classrooms in Syria on Sunday, December 15, after the country's

03:53Syria's new de facto leader, Ahmad al-Sharaf, faces the Herculean task of rebuilding the
03:57country following 13 years of civil war.
04:01Officials say most schools opened on Sunday, the first day of the working week in most
04:05Arab countries.
04:07But some parents did not send their children to school due to uncertainty.
04:11As Syria tries to rebuild, neighbors and foreign powers are still figuring out how to regard
04:15its rebel leadership that has ties to terrorists.
04:22The UP Fighting Maroons secured their fourth overall UAAP Men's Basketball title after
04:26a 66-62 Finals Game 3 win over the De La Salle Green Archers on Sunday, December 15.
04:33Season 87 Finals MVP and UP's JD Kagulangan plays a crucial role in the series.
04:40He led the Maroons against the Green Archers in a three-game series ending with a perfect
04:44and emotional finish.
04:46Despite not shooting higher than 32% in the finals, Kagulangan delivered key plays from
04:51scoring to passing and more.
04:54Kagulangan expresses his gratitude to everyone who supported him in his collegiate journey,
04:58from both the Maroon and Green sides.
05:01Meanwhile, two-time UAAP MVP and La Salle's Kevin Quimbao bids his farewell to the UAAP
05:07after three seasons.
