00:00Good afternoon, this is the latest on the storm that we are monitoring, Kerubin.
00:06The low-pressure area that we were monitoring the past few days,
00:10at 2 p.m. yesterday, it was already strong and it became a typhoon.
00:15We gave it a local name, Kerubin.
00:18As of 4 p.m., its center is at a distance of 215 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City.
00:25It is blowing strong winds at a distance of 45 kilometers per hour near the center,
00:30and a storm that reaches 55 kilometers per hour.
00:34It is moving in the direction of south-southwest slowly.
00:38Kerubin mostly affects Visayas and Mindanao area,
00:44so we need to be extra careful in those areas, especially the weather advisory areas.
00:49Aside from Kerubin, this shear line continues to rain in Quezon and Bicol region,
00:55and in Northeast Monsuno, Amihan, it continues to rain in the area of Cagayan Valley,
01:02Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
01:08Because of Kerubin and shear line, we issued a weather advisory,
01:13so today until tomorrow afternoon, we expect heavy to intense rains in Dinagat Islands,
01:20Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
01:25If heavy to intense rains, it is possible to have 100 to 200 millimeters of rain,
01:30so numerous flooding events likely, especially in areas that are urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers.
01:35Landslides are also likely in moderate to highly susceptible areas.
01:41We also have moderate to heavy rains in Quezon, Bicol region,
01:46Eastern Visayas, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Occidental.
01:56So we need to be extra careful in those landslides and flood-prone areas,
02:01because if the rains are moderate to heavy, localized flooding,
02:05mainly in urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers, and landslides,
02:09it is possible in highly susceptible areas.
02:14Tomorrow afternoon until Thursday afternoon, heavy to intense rains,
02:18it is possible in a large area of Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
02:26While moderate to heavy rains, it is still possible in Quezon, Bicol region,
02:32a large part of Visayas, particularly in Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental.
02:40So we need to be extra careful in areas near Mt. Canlaon,
02:43because it is possible for landslides if there are heavy rains.
02:48Moderate to heavy rains also in Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental,
03:00Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, and Lanao del Norte.
03:08Moderate to heavy rains are also possible in a large part of Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
03:17While moderate to heavy rains are still possible in Quezon, Bicol region, a large part of Visayas, particularly in Bohol, Cebu,
03:27Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Oriental.
03:43So just like we mentioned, be extra careful, especially for our fellow countrymen who live near Mt. Canlaon,
03:49because when heavy rains occur, the possibility of landslides is not ruled out.
03:55For more information on the weather advisory, you can visit our website pagasa.dost.gov.ph
04:03Under weather, you can find the weather advisory.
04:07Because of the heavy rains, we have a high signal, the highest signal at the moment is signal number 1 in Davao Oriental.
04:19This is the track of the heavy rains.
04:23We expect that by tomorrow, around 2 p.m., it will weaken and become a remnant low.
04:31But regardless, even if it weakens and becomes a low-pressure area, it is still possible for it to traverse the Mindanao and Palawan areas tomorrow to Sunday afternoon.
04:43And we can see that it is possible for it to reach the area of Mt. Canlaon around Friday to Saturday.
04:49So for those days, our fellow countrymen should be extra careful in those areas, because it is still possible for landslides to occur.
04:59Just like what we mentioned, it is possible that by tomorrow, it will become a remnant low, but it is still possible for it to re-intensify into a tropical depression
05:12after it traverses the Mindanao and reaches the Palawan area.
05:18And also, just like what we mentioned, regardless if it becomes a low-pressure area, if it traverses the area of Mindanao,
05:28heavy rains are possible, just like what we mentioned in our weather advisory.
05:35Just like what we mentioned, just like what we mentioned, even if it becomes a low-pressure area, heavy rains are still possible,
05:45that's why we should always coordinate with our DRR officers.
05:51For the location of our ocean, we still do not have a high-level gale warning for any sea or country in our country.
05:58But we are still being careful in the northern Luzon and Silangang part of our ocean, because it is still possible for landslides to occur in our ocean.
06:12And that's all for today's Bagyong Caribbean.
