00:09does that mean the phrase comes from an interview that stars ariana grande and

00:22don't want to see it again to skip ahead to this timestamp this week people are

00:26taking the lyrics of defying gravity and really holding space with that and

00:30feeling power in that I didn't know that that was happening I've seen it yeah

00:36that's really powerful that's why I wanted

00:47I've seen it on a couple posts I don't know how widespread but you know I am in

00:51queer media so that's my so what was that all about holding space is

00:58therapeutic language for centering someone else's experience for a brief

01:03but meaningful period of time according to psychology today some of the main

01:09characteristics of holding space are being fully present without distractions

01:14creating a safe accepting environment being empathetic and being a good

01:18listener the meme has kind of snowballed into literally holding space

01:23for the lyrics of defying gravity which if you watch the clip that's not really

01:28what they say but it is pretty funny it's way funnier than it's very funny to

01:34hold space for a lyric to a song interviewer Tracy Gilchrist is saying

01:38that people were holding space for themselves like with the lyrics to

01:43defying gravity which makes a lot more sense honestly this diva is clearly the

01:48best thing about this interview the tearful look in her eyes you know the

01:53the saying that she's in queer media as a justification for this claim and also

01:58kind of like having the concession of like a couple people doing this it's not

02:04maybe that big of a thing she's clearly what makes this a much bigger meme than

02:10the memes of Ariana and Cynthia just regularly crying in interviews which

02:15songs are you holding space with from wicked personally it has to be a

02:20sentimental man because no one else is gonna do it
