00:00Good morning to all of you and live from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:05The time is now Sunday, December 22, 2024.
00:11And in our latest satellite images,
00:14we can see that we are being watched by a tropical depression
00:18that is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:22This is the last sighting of a tropical depression
00:25that is 620 kilometers away from the southern part of Pag-asa Island
00:30in Kalayaan, here in Mahapalawan.
00:33We are not ignoring the possibility
00:35that the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:38could enter this storm that we are monitoring.
00:42And it is also possible that we will have a tropical cyclone wind signal
00:45particularly in the Kalayaan Islands.
00:49And if this storm enters our PAR
00:52or if we have a tropical cyclone wind signal
00:55in the Kalayaan Islands, in Palawan,
00:58we will call this storm the Romina Storm.
01:02This is the 18th storm in our country,
01:07in our PAR this year, 2024.
01:10Meanwhile, the shear line is still continuing
01:13particularly here in the eastern part of Southern Luzon and Kabisayaan.
01:18And so is the Northeast Monsoon or AMIHAN,
01:20particularly in the northern part of Luzon.
01:23And today, there is still a high chance of rain
01:26in a large part of Kabisayaan, Bicol Region,
01:29as well as in Mimaropa.
01:31This is the end of the shear line.
01:34While the sky is cloudy,
01:36there is a slight chance of rain
01:38in a large part of Luzon,
01:40particularly in Cordillera,
01:42as well as here in the Cagayan Valley Region, Central Luzon,
01:45and even here in Metro Manila.
01:47And some parts of Calabarzon will experience
01:50cloudy skies with rain.
01:53The trough or extension of the storm
01:55that is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility
01:58will bring cloudy skies with rain
02:01particularly in parts of the Buanga Peninsula,
02:04in Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
02:07In ten parts of our region,
02:09generally, we are still in fair weather
02:11while there is a possibility of isolated
02:14and low-pressure areas.
02:18Aside from the storm we are monitoring outside the park,
02:22we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas at the moment.
02:26And this is what we expect
02:28the weather will be like here in Luzon.
02:30We will see a high chance of rain.
02:32So, to our fellow countrymen,
02:34especially to those who will stay in the province,
02:36I expect that in a part of Bicol Region,
02:39Calabarzon, and a large part of Mimaropa,
02:42we will see cloudy skies with rain
02:44along the shoreline,
02:45while cloudy skies with low rainfall
02:48will be experienced in a part of Cagayan Valley Region,
02:51Cordillera, Central Luzon, and Metro Manila
02:54along the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan.
02:57Here in Ilocos Region, generally, we are in fair weather
03:00with isolated light rains.
03:03In Lawag, 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
03:07will be the highest temperature.
03:08In Togegarang, 22 to 28 degrees Celsius,
03:1116 to 24 degrees Celsius.
03:13In Baguio and Manila, 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:16In Tagaytay, 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.
03:19While in Legazpi, 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:25Here we are in Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan.
03:28Here in Palawan, the trough or extension
03:32of Tropical Depression will be affected
03:34outside of PAR
03:35and will bring cloudy skies with rain
03:37in a part of Palawan.
03:39And in a large part of Visayas,
03:42we will also experience cloudy skies
03:44with scattered rainfalls of shear line.
03:47In Calayan Islands, the water temperature
03:49is 26 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:51In Puerto Princesa, 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:54In Iloilo, 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:57While in Cebu, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
04:00In Tacloban, 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
04:04The trough or extension of Tropical Depression
04:07outside of PAR will bring cloudy skies
04:11with scattered rainfalls in Zamboanga Peninsula,
04:14Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
04:17In a large part of Mindanao,
04:19we will experience generally fair weather
04:21but we will still have isolated rain showers
04:23and thunderstorms that we can experience
04:25during this day in Mindanao.
04:27In Zamboanga City, the water temperature
04:29is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:32In Davao, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:35While in Cagayan de Oro, 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:39Tomorrow, we will still expect rainy weather
04:42in a large part of Bicol Region
04:44along with Quezon Province
04:46and a large part of Mimaropa.
04:48In particular, in Bicol Region,
04:53it is possible that it will still be rainy
04:55so there is a high chance of sudden floods
04:58and landslides.
05:02On December 24, Tuesday,
05:05we still expect a high chance of rain
05:08in a large part of Bicol Region
05:10along with Northern Samar
05:12and a few parts of Mimaropa.
05:14It is possible that it will reach Isabela and Aurora
05:17which are the tip of the Shire Line
05:19and the Northeast Monsoon.
05:21So, our countrymen should be careful
05:23in the areas where we expect
05:25a high chance of rain
05:27tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday.
05:32We have also raised the gale warning
05:35especially in Batanes,
05:37Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte,
05:39Ilocos Sur, and Kalayaan Island.
05:43It is still dangerous for small sea vehicles
05:46and small boats to sail
05:48in the mentioned areas
05:51because the sea will be unstable
05:54due to strong winds.
05:58The sun will rise at 6.16 am
06:02and set at 5.32 pm.
