00:00We are down to 14 teams, uh, seven aside, six games this weekend, a wildcard weekend in the NFL,
00:07two Saturday, three Sunday, one Monday. Here is the whole thing for you, the tree,
00:11the playoff tree. There it is. Look at it. Uh, for our matchups, of course, the Chiefs
00:16and the Lions will have the buys this weekend. Uh, I guess that means the Chiefs really had
00:22buys two weeks in a row cause they didn't play yesterday either. I mean, I know that some guys
00:26were out there in chief uniforms and in helmets, but, uh, they did not play. So two weeks for the
00:32chiefs leading into their divisional round game. All right. First game Saturday, 4 30,
00:38uh, PM East, a tradition, unlike any other, the Houston Texans playing the first game on Saturday
00:47in wildcard weekend, uh, minus two and a half chargers road favorites with the 43 and a half
00:54total, uh, between these two, the chargers, of course, uh, there was talk, Joe, they weren't
00:59going to play yesterday, but then when the Steelers lost on Saturday night and they said,
01:04we can go to Houston instead of Baltimore, uh, they decided to play in Herbert had a really big
01:09day. Will he have a big day in Houston on Saturday though? Yeah, no. Uh, I, I do think that this is
01:17going to be, um, Justin Herbert and, uh, and Harbaugh's coming out party together. One in
01:26which you will watch Harbaugh own the ground and own the time of possession in this game.
01:33And the defense, uh, will figure out a way to make sure that CJ Stroud, uh, doesn't do a heck
01:40of a lot. Right. I don't trust the offense of Houston. I do trust. Uh, and I don't consider
01:46them to be a great team by any stretch. And we've already seen the chargers this year,
01:51uh, hold 13 of their 17 opponents to 20 points or fewer. Uh, if they do that again here,
01:58and most of those were not great teams like Houston, I think they're going to have a hard
02:03time scoring. And I think the chargers and Harbaugh are going to shorten the, uh, the game.
02:09And they're just going to not give Houston enough opportunities to do anything crazy on offense.
02:16And beat them here. To me, this has got a 2013 feel to it all day long. I'm all over the under
02:22in this one. I love the under Joe. Uh, that was the first thing that kind of stuck out to me
02:29when I looked at this game, uh, was seeing that number. Now, look, I like the chargers I'm with
02:35you. I think it's a game that, uh, I think the chargers are better than them. And I,
02:39the Texan offense is extremely concerning to me, uh, against the charger D I think that they're
02:45going to have, they've had a hard time scoring against some bad teams over the last really half
02:51of the season. I mean, if you want to take it back all year, you can find stretches where the
02:56Houston Texan offense, I remember, but Joe, they had a stretch where they didn't score a touchdown
03:00in the second half for like six or seven weeks. You know, they have had some real ugly stretches
03:04of offensive play. Uh, but I, I don't think the charger offense will blow them away either.
03:10So I'm with you. I think we, uh, we're in the same zone here, 20 to 13, something like that,
03:172016 key. I think under that 43 and a half, uh, that's where I'm living at least here early in
03:23the week on a Monday, Saturday night round three for the Steelers and the Ravens in Baltimore
03:32Steelers lose four in a row to end the season. Ravens of course, when the North now, now they
03:37split this year, uh, Ravens, uh, the Steelers beat them, uh, at their place. Ravens then beat
03:43them in Baltimore, 44 and a half total. You know, I know they covered this number last time they
03:48played Joe a few weeks ago on that Saturday game. These games are always close. And I know the
03:55Steelers have not looked good the last four weeks. I know the Ravens are better than them,
04:00but at least here today early, I know it's a big number and that tells you they think the
04:06Ravens are going to smash them, but Tomlin never gets blown out really in these playoff games.
04:11They lost by 17 of the bills last year, but I think this is a better team that he has this
04:15year than last year. It's just, it's two teams going in totally opposite directions. Uh, we've
04:23seen the Ravens, especially defensively get stronger down the stretch. And we have seen
04:30Pittsburgh offensively, as well as defensively, uh, completely crumble here. And I don't see how
04:37any of that changes this week, uh, Baltimore four straight wins by 17 or more points,
04:43including Pittsburgh feels like that's where we're heading again in this one.
04:47And you'll get ready, Joe, you're going to hear it all week long. Here's what you'll hear
04:51in the Mike Tomlin era Steelers are 13, three and two against the spread is underdogs against the
04:57Ravens, including five and one against the spread against Lamar Jackson. You will hear those
05:03numbers, Joe all week long, uh, as it concerns the Steeler Raven game. And I know I'm telling
05:11you today I'm on the, I'm on the Steelers. Uh, I think that could change a lot for me, uh,
05:17by the end of the week, we shall see. That's just my initial thinking. You're right. Two opposite
05:22directions right now, probably not a train that you want to get in front of, uh, in terms of,
05:27and this was how bad Russ has played. And I mean, pickings too, Joe, that was bad pickings catch a
05:34ball, uh, on Saturday night in that game against the Bengals. Like, what are we doing, uh, out
05:40there? Uh, Sunday, three games, first game, one o'clock East Denver goes to Buffalo. We kind of
05:48mentioned this earlier for a moment, eight and a half for the bills and 47 and a half to total.
05:53Now me and you kind of talked about the number already with the eight and a half. What do you
05:57think about the total though, in this game, my initial reaction is over. Um, and it, this would
06:06not shock me, uh, because Sean Payton is not conservative with his rookie quarterback in
06:12any way, shape or form. He's got, he trusts them to be able to throw the ball, uh, all over.
06:19And I mean, let's face it that Denver has scored 27 plus in six of their last seven games. We've
06:25seen the Buffalo D get a little leaky. Uh, I don't know why we would think this is going to be some
06:32sort of defensive, uh, struggle. Buffalo is going to have no problem putting points on the board.
06:37I mean, heck, what are we talking about? Buffalo over an eight of their last 11 games as well here.
06:43I don't know. They usually average about 50 plus points a game Buffalo at home this year and Denver
06:49also six and three to the over on the road. I think they're going to have to throw to keep
06:55up with Buffalo. So I got no problem looking at the over here. Yeah. You know, I think there's this,
07:01uh, somewhat perception about Denver's defense that they're a big time unit. And I know it's
07:09mostly because of certain and how good he is as a corner, but, uh, 10 games to the over this year,
07:16you mentioned on the road, how many games to the over, uh, for the Denver Broncos, they've played
07:21some high scoring games, uh, especially on the road this year. And I, and you could score on the
07:28bills defense. Trust me. Uh, I see it every week. A lot of these games go look at the biggest bill
07:33wins this year. A lot of them are Alan outscoring the other team, uh, and just sheer offense,
07:41just outscored them and overwhelming them. It is not like the bills are holding everyone,
07:46uh, to 10 points a game. That is not what they do. Middle game, Sunday Packers and Eagles
07:53in Philly. Now right now, Eagles four and a half with a 46 and a half. As I have said to you,
07:59I am not, uh, going anywhere until I know, uh, for sure that Jalen hurts is good to go. Joe,
08:06I got, I got to sit this one out until I know all that information.
08:10Yeah. I mean, listen, no, they got a ton of injuries though. I mean, we know Christian
08:15Watson out. Uh, we also know Jair Alexander, their best defensive back also out. Uh, we know
08:24that let's face it. Some of the other options, uh, for Jordan love, not exactly threats. I mean,
08:31Christian Watson was the big threat for the big play down the field. Uh, to me, this feels like
08:38low floor is made a point to say, we're going to have to be able to run the ball, uh, to the point
08:44of nauseam. I don't think they're going to be able to run on this Philadelphia defense.
08:49And I don't think we're getting a ton of points in this game. I thought the 46 and a half that
08:54it opened at was way too high. And I think, call me crazy. This has got a 23, 20 game written all
09:02over it to it. And I like the under in it all day with these two offenses and the way the,
09:08these two teams need to win games. I don't think this is some sort of wild shootout at all.
09:15Uh, I do not either. And by the way, Sirianni spoke this afternoon, he says he has no new
09:21information on hurts, which he wouldn't give you anyway, because it's concussion protocol related.
09:26But I do believe Joe, one of the things about concussion protocol is, uh, I don't think you
09:32can even clear it until you attempt to participate in a practice. So Wednesday would be the first
09:39time that hurts would be able to do that. So I think Wednesday is when you'll know, you know,
09:44hurts is at practice on Wednesday. He's going to clear the protocol. You don't play.
09:48If he doesn't practice on Wednesday, that's when I think, uh, you start to,
09:54and I'll tell you what else, Joe, that number will change. If he doesn't practice on Wednesday,
09:57it ain't going to be four and a half. Uh, if, if hurts don't practice Wednesday,
10:02that's going to change. Uh, so we shall see. And the late game on Sunday, Washington and Tampa,
10:08uh, which I thought I saw, I thought I saw a three and a half last night when it opened Joe,
10:12but flat three now for the box with a 50 and a half, the biggest total, uh, of the weekend.
10:19And I could see lots of points, Joe, I was, especially with that Tampa offense and their
10:23defense. I think we can get them. Yeah, absolutely. I agree. But I think we're at the point
10:29of the program here, Carver where experience matters. You're going to see it in the Buffalo
10:35game against a rookie quarterback and an inexperienced team that's made the playoffs
10:41for the first time in what seven, eight years in Denver. And you're going to see it in this game
10:46too, as well that Tampa at home in the playoffs, a lot of experience. And Oh yeah. You know what
10:53else Tampa can do? Uh, they're the number fourth ranked run offense in the league and Washington
10:59is the number 30th ranked run defense in the league. I think the box have far too much experience
11:05and far too many ways to beat you. I think the commanders are going to be a little one
11:11dimensional here. Sure. They can put up points, but it's going to be end all be all, uh, with
11:16how, uh, with how the kid plays Jaden Daniels, another rookie quarterback, first time in the
11:22playoffs, give me Baker Mayfield and, uh, the box to get it done. I like the box too, Joe, but I
11:29think they, I think the box can get in the thirties themselves. I think they can get in the thirties.
11:34So for me, that, that means that that 50 and a half is going to be attainable. And the last one,
11:40a week from tonight, Minnesota at LA against the Rams, uh, down to one and a half year for the
11:47Vikings. 47 and a half is the total. And I do believe Joe, uh, correct me if I'm wrong. This
11:53was a Thursday night game. These two played earlier in the season. And this was one of the
11:59three Viking losses this year was in LA to the Rams on a Thursday night game, 30 to 20,
12:06the Rams beat him that night. Yeah. And, uh, that was Stafford carving up Minnesota that thought
12:12they were just going to blitz him and get to it. Nah. Uh, we saw what happened with Jared
12:17golf and you tried to blitz him as well. Last night, you seen the trend there. Uh, you cannot
12:22blitz quarterbacks of those caliber all the time and think you're going to have success,
12:28not with the wide receivers they're dealing with. I think the same thing happens in that game.
12:34Last thing football wise, Joe, and then we'll get to all the action tonight, NBA, NHL,
12:39college troops, uh, me crying and complaining about Hideki Matsuyama winning the century.
12:44Uh, we still have all of that to do. Uh, but here it is odds to win with 14 teams left
12:51lions favorites along with the chiefs and then the Ravens and bills and then the Eagles and
12:58then a pretty big gap Joe. So really, uh, outside of lions, chiefs, Ravens, bills, Eagles.
13:04Do you think that there's anyone below that who can win the whole thing?
13:10Uh, yeah, I, I mean, listen, I, I think that whole Bill's Eagles price point is pretty tempting,
13:17uh, right about now because I've always liked the bills, uh, to be playing for the AFC title.
13:25And, uh, I always thought the Eagles were going to be the one team that could absolutely,
13:31uh, you know, go toe to toe with Detroit, with that defense and the styles of play by keeping,
13:37uh, you know, uh, the offense on the sideline that they'd be able to do that. So I got no
13:43problem, uh, holding onto a ticket or placing a bet right now. And that's six to seven to one
13:48mark with either the bills of the Eagles. Uh, because if they both make it to the AFC NFC
13:54championship game, well, then you've got, you got a couple of hedging opportunities
13:58there and making money one way or the other.
