00:00Ah, just like in golf, dubsy moving day sets in where some of these players move up and down to try to get a chance to win a golf tournament.
00:07So why are you talking golf right now?
00:08Because it's moving day in Indianapolis.
00:11Moving in is Joe Flacco.
00:13Moving out is Anthony Richardson.
00:14You take a look at that Adam Schefter bombshell yesterday.
00:17The coaches met this morning and made seismic organizational decision to change quarterbacks.
00:22And yes, that means Anthony Richardson, the number three overall pick, no longer the starting quarterback.
00:26Is it short term?
00:27Is it long term?
00:29Let's start here, Dubsy.
00:30I agree with this decision because in the NFL, it's a week to week league.
00:35If you feel your team has a chance to win and a better chance to win with a different quarterback and or make the playoffs, you owe it to your locker room to make that change.
00:44Do we think Anthony Richardson is done in the NFL and can't be a quarterback?
00:48Not necessarily, but it's obvious to the point right now.
00:51He's inefficient at the quarterback.
00:52He's not making the plays he needs to make.
00:54And it looks like the Colts could be in a better position with Joe Flacco.
00:58Do you agree with this move?
01:01Absolutely.
01:01Yeah.
01:02And Joe Flacco, he's going to come in, read a rock and roll.
01:05We saw that last season when he took over the duties late.
01:08I think it's unfortunate, but it's a sign of the times that, you know, the only key metric or stat that matters in the NFL is the win column.
01:15And for the Colts to have put himself, put themselves in a really good position off the back of some decent play from Anthony Richardson.
01:23They've got to be looking around and saying, Flacco is going to be that guy for us.
01:26Richardson is only 22 years of age.
01:29He's put up some decent numbers.
01:31He's certainly a tremendous athlete.
01:33He's made some silly decisions at time.
01:35I don't think it's, uh, it helped you stop from what we saw last week, leaving the game, putting his hand up saying, I was a little tight on that one coach.
01:42Can I sit down to play and then go back into the mix?
01:44Doesn't really send a great vibe across the locker room, but what has he done on the field has been decent, I would say at best there.
01:53But I think it's tough, Donnie, you know, for a young quarterback, you want to see what you're working with.
01:58You're trying to take that gamble and saying that maybe we've got the next CJ Stroud or the next Jordan Love or the next, you know, like a Bo Nix, I guess, has been pretty strong out the gates here in year one.
02:10It hasn't worked out in favor.
02:11He's shown us ability to rush there, but now put him to the back benches.
02:16The only concern, Donnie, is for me, it really hurts a young quarterback's confidence.
02:20You know, I know we can say, well, he can now learn from Joe Flacco, but maybe that decision should have made a little earlier in the season.
02:28But at least now, you know exactly what you're working with.
02:31You can try and develop Anthony Richardson to come up and be that starting, you know, franchise quarterback going forward because again, he's so young.
02:38He's only 22 years of age.
02:40He's got all the weapons to make it.
02:41It's just not right now.
02:43Joe Flacco, seasoned pro.
02:44I love this for the Colts going against the Vikings coming up.
02:48And also hear me out on this, like Anthony Richardson can serve a purpose on this Colts team if he isn't the starting quarterback.
02:54The same way I talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers dubs, where I say to myself, you know what?
02:58Russell Wilson is a great quarterback from 20 to 20.
03:00But if those red zone struggles continue, Justin Fields is the perfect player to put in in short yardage situations.
03:06He can make plays with his legs.
03:07The same thing with Anthony Richardson.
03:09You tell me you put Anthony Richardson in on the three yard line with Jonathan Taylor in the backfield.
03:13That's automatic touchdown after touchdown after touchdown.
03:16But here's the reason why the move was made.
03:18It's not so much that you get really bad quarterback play, but it's the easy plays that you're not making where it's like, hey, there's a guy running wide open here.
03:25Just make the simple throw five to seven yards down the field.
03:28If we look at this season and we remove that Pittsburgh game, which went three or four for 71 yards, but then got injured in this the next week there.
03:35Look at the other four games, Dubsy against Green Bay, 17 of 34, which is 50% against Chicago, 10 of 20, 50% against Miami, 10 of 24.
03:4541% against Houston, 10 of 32, 31%.
03:50And look at the passer ratings, 41, 39, 59, 48.
03:54The QBR ratings, which are based on 100, 30, 19, 18 and 40.
03:59Like you're just putting your team behind the eight ball.
04:01And you take a look at the standings here in their division in the AFC South.
04:05It's a miracle that they're four and four with that type of quarterback play.
04:09Now, the Texans sit in the lead at six and two, but this is the side where I think it's a healthy organizational decision.
04:15The one thing you have to understand is the owner is going to make a lot of these moves.
04:18Say, wait a second, we drafted a guy.
04:19Number three, we're going to play him all out.
04:22But when you get the head coach, which is Shane Slyke, who was a wonderful offensive coordinator in Philadelphia, I think is a very good head coach.
04:27He just needs a quarterback to execute his offense.
04:30You don't need the big boom play.
04:31You don't need the 30 yard run of the quarterback, the 65 yard touchdown pass.
04:35Once in a while, I just need you to make the simple throws and Flacco should be able to do that.
04:40So for me, Dubsy, I love this move because it says to the locker room, we're trying to win football games and that's all you can ask for.
04:47Absolutely. And Donnie, there's still going to be room in the NFL to develop young talent.
04:52You cannot expect these quarterbacks coming out of college to just have an impact day one.
04:57You know, Bo's been strong.
04:59Caleb Daniels.
05:01They've also been outliers as well.
05:03I think they go against the norm and what's expected.
05:05If you look at the Colts, obviously a bit of a sour taste with that loss going against the Texans.
05:09Last week, but take a look at the schedule here.
05:11If they can just survive the next four and go 500, they've got a really good chance to close out the year with a couple of wins.
05:18They've got the Vikings, Bills, Jets, Lions on deck.
05:22But then you finish off going against the Pats, Broncos, Titans, Giants and Jags.
05:27That's going to be one of the easiest schedules for the last six weeks of the regular season.
05:32They know a lot of these games have been right in the balance.
05:34You highlighted, Donnie, a couple of easy, silly mistakes have been made and that's not good
05:39enough. And if you look back in hindsight and say, well, if Flacco was our starting quarterback, if Flacco was out there in the
05:45fourth quarter to make that dink and dunk and get us that 15 yards, I have no hesitation to think that their record would be
05:52looking a little better than four and four at 500.
05:55And they're still right in the mix here within the division.
05:58AFC South, I think, is wide open, especially with that news coming across there that the Houston Texans now not going to have
06:05Stephon Diggs a little banged up.
06:07They're only going to lose a bit of steam going forward.
06:09So, Joe Flacco, welcome back to the big leagues, my guy.
06:13This is a salty seasoned veteran who has done everything when asked of him before.
06:19And you've got to imagine he's going to be ready to rock and roll again here.
06:23Like instead of four and four, right, the Colts, if they were two and six, maybe you're right, Anthony Richardson, because, hey, there's no way
06:28we can chase down the division leader, which is the Texans, which is a perfect segue because the Texans didn't get any better with the
06:33news that Stephon Diggs tore his ACL on Sunday versus the Colts season over for him.
06:39Now you might be looking to the markets to try to say, all right, where can we fit in another wide receiver when so many of the big names
06:46have already been taken off the board?
06:47It's like you never wish injuries earlier in the season, but maybe if Diggs tore his ACL two weeks ago, you could have made a move for
06:53one of the top flight names.
06:54Now, you still have Nico Collins.
06:55He's coming back one of the better young wide receivers in the NFL.
06:58Tankdale is certainly a very good piece, but Stephon Diggs sort of tied it all together for me, for the Houston Texans.
07:03They sit at six and two.
07:04Is their season over?
07:05Absolutely not.
07:06Do I still think they win the division?
07:08Yes, I do.
07:09But the fact of the matter is that top end ceiling really gets hit a little bit with Diggs injury here.
07:14Now it is only one player.
07:15It's one wide receiver.
07:16I get it.
07:16You can replace him and try to get some of that production in the free agent market slack, you know, should I say unrestricted free agent
07:22market and also in the trade markets here.
07:24But if we are looking at the Houston Texans overall win totals, they're eleven and a half, eleven and a half, a massive favorite still to win
07:31the AFC South, but a devastating injury nonetheless here to the Texans here, Doves.
07:35Yeah, and look, Nico's going to have to take a bulk of the productivity moving forward.
07:41He's been fantastic, but it's certainly not not great news.
07:44You know, just having that experience in the locker room, Donnie, Stephon Diggs, I would say, still at the peak of his powers.
07:50And it's a lot tougher than trying to scheme from the other side of the ball.
07:54If you've got a couple of big threats for the Texans coming at you, the run game has still been very strong.
07:58Joe Mixon has looked fantastic since coming back.
08:01And you've still got one of the best quarterbacks in the league there in CJ Stroud.
08:05But devastating news for Stephon Diggs, going to be a free agent going in to next season.
08:10It was a non-contact injury.
08:12So they're always a little more serious when there's no one even around you.
08:16You just go down like, I guess, the old deck chair out the back of the pool there.
08:20So for the Texans trying to go forward, they've started in really good fashion.
08:24They picked up where they left off.
08:26They're sitting at six and two.
08:27But that win total for me, Donnie, a little scary at 11 and a half.
08:31They've got the Jets on deck for Thursday night football.
08:34But a lot has to go in favor to pick up another six wins and go over that mark.
08:39I still think they're the team to beat in a lackluster division.
08:42But can we pick up another six between now and the playoffs?
08:46That's going to be big.
08:47Yeah, take a look at his last couple of games, too.
08:49Minimum of seven targets, a high of nine targets.
08:52But look at the yardage, though.
08:5369, 82, 77, 23, and 81.
08:57Certainly, they're going to miss his production.
08:58And as you said, they have the game Thursday night in the Meadowlands.
09:01So now they're going to be down Stephon Diggs and Joe Collins
09:04taking on the limping Jets.
09:06But that is a tough spot here.
09:07We'll see where they line up.
09:08And also, I do think they'll make some moves
09:10to fortify that wide receiver position.
09:12Because once Diggs is trying to replace that production, maybe they can do it.
09:16More NFL talk next.
09:18The Ravens, they're looking to add production
09:20at the wide receiver position.
09:21What does that mean for Lamar Jackson next?
09:24Making moves to try to fortify your team.
09:26Many NFL teams will do that before the trade deadline hits next Tuesday.
09:30And one of those teams that's actually making moves
09:32is the Baltimore Ravens.
09:34Did they get a true number one wide receiver?
09:35No, but they got a very good piece here.
09:37Adam Schefter tweeted yesterday, Carolina's
09:39sending wide receiver Deontay Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens.
09:42Which means the white flag comes up in Carolina, understandably.
09:46Deontay Johnson, who was a very good player,
09:49had a couple issues with drops with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
09:51Signed a lucrative deal down there with Carolina.
09:53Now lines up in Baltimore, which is interesting to me.
09:58Because you add another piece to the puzzle, Dubsy.
10:01Instead of getting into it deep right now,
10:02what were your first thoughts on Deontay Johnson
10:05headed over now to the Baltimore Ravens?
10:08It's a spoil of riches now for the best offense in the NFL.
10:12It's always going to be that run heavy offense, but certainly not
10:15a bad addition here.
10:16Deontay Johnson, never going to be that true one.
10:19But you really don't need him to be.
10:21And for the Ravens to continue to roll at this point of the season,
10:25you can make the argument one of the best teams.
10:27Another fantastic wide receiving option there for star quarterback,
10:32Lamborghini Lamar Jackson.
10:33You look at some of the other compliments we've got
10:35in the likes of Zay Flowers.
10:37You've got Bateman.
10:38You've got arguably the best one-two punch with your tight ends.
10:41And Mark Ingram, who's looked fantastic.
10:44He's suddenly getting a lot more looks than Isaiah likely.
10:47You've got the best running back.
10:48Maybe the best season we've ever seen from a run game there
10:52with King Henry, Derrick Henry.
10:53So for the Ravens, you've got to love this addition.
10:57Not good for the Panthers there to lose one of their star pieces.
11:00But obviously, it's been time to sell the farm there for a very long time.
11:04So I love this pickup for Baltimore.
11:06Deontay Johnson, we're talking about teams who've got that depth,
11:09teams who are trying to fend off the old injury
11:11struggles coming into week nine.
11:13Certainly not the case here for Baltimore,
11:15who look fantastic at this point of the year.
11:18Love it.
11:19So you look at the AFC North.
11:20The Pittsburgh Steelers still in first place at 6-2.
11:22The reason being, well, the Ravens aren't 6-2,
11:24because they lost the game against the Cleveland Browns, which you can't do.
11:27But any given Sunday, we know that's certainly a possibility to happen.
11:30But if you are looking at the, let's just say,
11:32the depth chart on offense for the Baltimore Ravens, it's good.
11:36Like the offensive line, we understand.
11:37A big mash unit there built on the running game.
11:40But if you're looking from a quarterback position,
11:42maybe the best in the game, one of the best in the game in Lamar Jackson.
11:44Maybe one of the best, if not the best in the game,
11:46running back there in Derrick Henry.
11:48Three wide receivers in Johnson, Flowers, and Bateman
11:50that can all get loose deep.
11:52And also, younger players with good legs here.
11:54Likely a tight end to go with the veteran Mark Andrews.
11:57I love the look of this offense.
11:58And also, just getting back to that point saying, well,
12:00wouldn't you rather have Devontae Adams get that true number one?
12:03No, because obviously, I don't want to lose
12:04the identity of the Baltimore Ravens, which
12:06when you get to the playoffs, it's colder weather, chilly temperatures.
12:10You got to be effective on the ground.
12:12Not necessarily a high octane pass offense, which for some reason,
12:15the Ravens tried to do in the AFC Championship game
12:17last year against the Chiefs.
12:18But for my money, I like this move because it doesn't
12:21mess up the balance of offense, but adds an extra piece here.
12:24And we'll see how he gets ingrained into that offense.
12:26Because if we're looking at the Ravens numbers here,
12:29team win total, 11 and a half on the season
12:31to win the AFC North at minus 195, even though they're not in first place
12:34right now, I agree with that.
12:36An AFC title plus 330, and a Super Bowl title at plus 650.
12:40Moving forward with the Ravens here, the AFC North,
12:43they're a favorite, almost at a 2 to 1 price here.
12:45Do you agree with that number, even though the Pittsburgh Steelers
12:48currently sit in first place in that division?
12:51Yeah, absolutely.
12:52And you look at what we're working with for the Baltimore Ravens.
12:56You look at what Mike Tomlin has done now with Danger Russ, Russell
12:59Wilson, a quarterback.
13:00I think the Steelers will lose a bit of steam,
13:02not to say that they're going to drop off completely.
13:05But for the Baltimore Ravens, I mean, when
13:07you're built with this kind of depth at this point of the season,
13:10you're really not going to go backwards in a hurry.
13:13They got caught with that look ahead spot last week.
13:15I think they're in a very dangerous spot, again,
13:17going against the Denver Broncos.
13:18But I think they take out the North.
13:20I love them for the AFC title, a plus 330, and a plus 650
13:24for a Super Bowl.
13:25The same question is going to remain once we make it
13:28into the postseason in the playoffs.
13:30It's not going to be the run game.
13:32It's not going to be, do they have the wide receivers?
13:34Do they have the horses to lean on?
13:36Can that defense step up and be elite like we've
13:38seen over the last couple of years?
13:40It's going to be Lamar Jackson.
13:41Can he make the right decisions at the clutch times
13:45of all these big games?
13:46We haven't seen it thus far in the playoffs.
13:49It's been a really tough assignment for him going against KC.
13:52This is going to be the test.
13:54And we're not going to know that test, Donnie,
13:55until we get to the playoffs.
13:57Love their win total.
13:58I love them in the regular season.
13:59Lamar Jackson, make or break.
14:01For me, it's all going to be what happens up top between the years.
14:04Can he make the smart decisions at the critical points?
14:08And a pretty manageable schedule as you move forward.
14:10Now, the thing that we always love about football
14:12is sometimes you have backloaded schedules here
14:14with some of the teams that maybe if you played early
14:16in the season could have decided things.
14:17You got two games against the Steelers.
14:19Still left to go where the Steelers are in first place.
14:21But you're right.
14:21A Broncos team, that certainly isn't an easy knockout punch.
14:24You say, well, Donnie, the Ravens got them at home.
14:26Yeah, we've seen the Ravens lose home games this year
14:29alone to the Vegas Raiders.
14:30Then the Bengals come on deck there, which is a chance
14:32to throw another knockout punch or a haymaker at the Bengals themselves.
14:36And that Steelers game at 1 o'clock on November 17th.
14:39I got a good idea, Dubsy.
14:41That game is either getting flexed in the 425 or flexed into the night game.
14:44That is going to be sensational television to watch.
14:46But you were right about this.
14:48Don't we just have like some referendum sometimes?
14:49Like it just feels like the Ravens.
14:51You know, Lamar Jackson, the regular season can be the best quarterback
14:54in football. He's done it two times already looking for a third MVP here.
14:57We know Derek Henry is sensational.
14:59We know this team's capabilities at its best are one of the best teams in football.
15:03But it just feels like show me in the playoffs, Lamar, win games here.
15:07And I still can't get over that AFC championship loss
15:11to a hobbled Kansas City Chiefs team where they had him dead to rights
15:14in their own building and just decided to go back to 1984.
15:18If it was the Miami Dolphins working with Dan Marino here
15:20instead of sticking to the ground game.
15:22So the fruits of labor should pan out.
15:24And I love the Ravens every year in the regular season.
15:27I'm taking them to win 12 games, Dubsy.
15:28That 11 and a half. Give me the over right now.
15:31Let's go send it north there for the Baltimore Ravens.
15:35And Donnie, when we talk about rosters coming into a new year, new season,
15:39it was the 49ers.
15:40This has got to be the best offense on paper.
15:43And I think we will see that going through the regular season.
15:46I can jump in there for that win total with you, Donnie.
15:48Absolutely buying stock.
15:50The Ravens will be the team to catch once we play a little playoff football.
15:54I think there's there's value behind that win total.
15:57I like them in the AFC plus 330.
15:59And yes, they are one of the best teams in football.
16:02But again, you got to get through Paddy Holmes, the Kansas City Chiefs.
16:06And we hate seeing the front runners, Donnie.
16:08We just don't want to see any team flying so high.
16:11This is going to be their chance.
16:14By the way, the last four weeks, too, like we talk about adding to offense
16:17of the Baltimore Ravens, which is great.
16:18Never have too many weapons, but let's get some help for that defense.
16:21How about a pass rusher?
16:22Dubsy, the last four weeks, 38 points given up to the Bengals,
16:2523 to the commanders, 31 to the Bucs, 29 to the Browns.
16:30That's very un-Ravens like defense.
16:33And we're thinking about Ed Reed and Ray Lewis and all the boys back in the day.
16:36Maybe that's where they go to trade deadline here.
16:39One hour down, two hours to go.
16:41It's how we do it on the SportsGrid Network Series XM Channel 159
16:45right here on the early line.
16:46Dubs Anderson, Donnie Wrightside, the hottest topics.
16:49You know, we have you covered.
16:50Did a lot of Major League Baseball in hour number one, setting the scene
16:53for game number five in tonight's World Series action.
16:56We'll handicap that a little bit later in the show.
16:58The NFL topics just continue to fly.
17:01It's always fun, too, because you're like, well, an hour's already done.
17:04We got two hours, two hours to go.
17:05That's going to fly by as well, Dubsy.
17:07We're feeling the heat this morning.
17:09I'm feeling fantastic.
17:11We had the sports equinox to start the week on Monday.
17:14I went over for playing East Coast teams, Donnie.
17:16So that's how my week started out.
17:18But now we're halfway through, not even halfway through the bankroll.
17:21So we're building a little momentum.
17:23Maybe the Yankees are following suit after picking up game four.
17:26We're rocking. We're rolling.
17:28We're having a good time.
17:29And I tell you what, October is going to be one of the best months of sports.
17:33But none. It's certainly in the top ten.
17:36Exactly. And by the way, one more day to go.
17:38Now, let's get all you to get off topic a little bit, Dubs,
17:40because I only get to talk to you on Wednesdays here on the show.
17:42Today's the 30th. Tomorrow's the 31st.
17:44Why is that important?
17:45Tomorrow is Halloween here, which is always an exciting time.
17:49But I want to ask about the day before in New Jersey,
17:52growing up as a kid, we had a thing called Mischief Night the day before.
17:56Soap up some cars, you know, maybe teepee some houses out there,
18:00shaving cream, eggs.
18:01Did you ever go through any of that in your childhood?
18:03Did you have any, you know, experiences on a mischief night?
18:06Or is this foreign to you at this point?
18:08No, it's a little foreign.
18:09And Halloween's only become a bit of a thing in Australia the last five, six years.
18:13I've been over in the States for far too long, but certainly used to dabble
18:17with the teepee, used to love a good egg session.
18:21Just get a couple eggs out the side of the old Mitsubishi 182.
18:26So always up for a good time.
18:27But Donny, the the selection drama I have is I've got two outfits
18:31for the big Halloween party that I cannot decide on one.
18:34One. Yeah, I need I need your guidance on this one.
18:37One Scotty Scheffler.
18:39One Scotty Scheffler in the orange in the orange overalls.
18:42Post 600 pound that stick around.
18:45But then I've got Joe Burrow.
18:46I'm keeping a white and orange thing in the all white unis for the Bengals.
18:51But I've also got the the peroxide hair dye ready to rock and roll.
18:55So maybe next Wednesday I've got the the blonde tips.
18:58I'm looking like Joey Burrow in the icy white for Cincy.
19:01What do you think? Is that the play, Donny?
19:04That should be the play.
19:04Yeah, I mean, you got it.
19:05You know, you're a golf guy.
19:06You got to stick to the roots there.
19:08Scotty Scheffler, maybe like the back pocket there is extra thick
19:11with extra cash rolling out there with all the money that he won this season.
19:14Now on Halloween for me, Dubsie, I got to work the Thursday night game,
19:18which is fine. We'll have a good time. We'll enjoy that here.
19:20But the wife actually has a office party today
19:24going dressed as a taco, Dubsie.
19:26What do you think about that?
19:27I like it. I like it.
19:29Are we are we talking like Taco Bell tacos?
19:32Are we talking about a corner shop? OK, OK.
19:36No, the my wife is going as a taco tonight.
19:41But by the way, that's a great question you have, because like
19:44it doesn't look like a Chipotle taco.
19:46It does look like a Taco Bell taco.
19:48So very astute of you there running to the border and the bell right there.
19:52I like that, Donny.
19:54The concern for me is, you know, I think it's great.
19:56We should all get dressed up.
19:57We're all going to have a bit of fun.
19:58You're going to have a bit of fun here on the grid covered Thursday night football.
20:01But for me, Donny, I've I've got the old chicken legs, the pins.
20:05So that's my concern.
20:06Trying to wear the white tights around, you know, like the footballers do.
20:10I think there could be a lot of, you know, landscape in between there.
20:15So that's that's going to be the tough assignment for me for Thursday,
20:18trying to lock down this outfit, but certainly going to be packing
20:21maybe a couple of XTP.
20:22The kids get into it, Donny.
20:24It's it's a lot of confectionery, a lot of lollies out here on the West Coast.
20:28But yeah, I'm still going to have a couple of bets, read a rock and roll.
20:31That'd be the best part.
20:32Thursday night football.
20:33I'm dressed up like a complete bozo.
20:36I always have worked multiple times on Halloween.
20:38I don't think we've ever dressed up here as the network.
20:40I don't know if it's allowed at this kind of, you know what I mean?
20:42Like, yeah, like, do we have to dress up and then just say, like,
20:45maybe you paint your face and put some makeup on and but you still have to wear
20:48the suit and the jacket at that point? I don't know. I don't know.
20:51Maybe it's a little bit off. Maybe Ben will come in tomorrow.
20:53By the way, what do you think Ben would come dressed up here
20:55to the network on Halloween?
20:57Oh, boy, it'd have to be Big Ten related.
21:01Maybe one of the the star college quarterbacks.
21:04I'm trying to think.
21:05I mean, Benny's got that sort of Ben Affleck swagger to him.
21:09You know, well, chiseled, well-spoken.
21:12He's in great shape. He's got that presence.
21:14Maybe maybe Batman, a little Bruce Wayne.
21:17I could see Bruce Wayne vibes coming in there for Benny Stevens.
21:20The biggest question mark I had, Donny, is who does Joe Lisi go as?
21:24Or does he go as himself?
21:26Apparently, they're just stopping him on the streets in New York,
21:29asking for photos. Give us a signed headshot.
21:32What do you do with the hair?
21:33What do you do with the lettuce up on top?
21:35So jackpot Joe Lisi as a Bitcoin.
21:38OK, I like I could get behind. Yeah.
21:41Imagine doing a show tomorrow with Joe Lisi as a Bitcoin.
21:43But by the way, with with on Halloween with Ben Stevens, maybe Ron Burgundy.
21:46But isn't he more Ron Burgundy every day?
21:48Some people would say here on the network at this point.
21:50So a lot of options that you can have.
21:52But, you know, you know what other options we have, Dubsy?
21:55It is Halloween. Let's try to win some money tomorrow.
21:57There is a Thursday football game.
21:59But before we get there,
22:00let's reset the odds market at the Fanblue Sportsbook of who do you think
22:03can actually win the Super Bowl?
22:04Is it a surprise? Ding, ding, ding.
22:06It's the Chiefs at a plus 450 price, followed by the Ravens at plus 650
22:11to AFC teams there at the top of the leaderboard, followed by the Detroit Lions.
22:15The San Francisco 49ers at plus 650 plus 750.
22:18You have the Bills at plus 850.
22:20They're the teams inside of ten to one right now.
22:23So if you look at those one, two, three, four, five teams, Dubsy,
22:27who would you go with right now who deserves in your mind
22:30to be the leader in the clubhouse?
22:32I think the Kansas City Chiefs do, and we hate seeing a front runner.
22:35I mean, undefeated.
22:37They're not getting it done in a wow style on Sundays.
22:40Patrick Mahomes is not stuffing the stat sheet or the box score,
22:44but they continue to chalk up those W7 and O4 where we currently sit.
22:49And we just know they've got that championship DNA,
22:52that championship caliber experience.
22:53They're looking for a third straight Lombardi.
22:55You can make the argument.
22:56It doesn't get any easier.
22:58Every week is the Super Bowl for whoever the Chiefs are going up against.
23:02But somehow they just find a way to chalk up these gritty,
23:06ugly victories week in, week out.
23:09So I love the Kansas City Chiefs.
23:10They're going to be there in the mix.
23:12The Ravens have made a fantastic addition to their offense
23:15in the last 24 hours.
23:16I think they've got the best roster.
23:19Lamar Jackson does concern me at times,
23:21especially under those high pressure situations.
23:24I think the price for me, Donnie, and I do think the odds board is spot on.
23:29The top five should be the top five.
23:30I don't see an outlier outside of the top five betting choices right now
23:35who's got the credentials to be a Super Bowl contender
23:38once it's all said and done.
23:39But the Detroit Lions, you know, Jared Goff is having a remarkable season.
23:43I love what Dan Campbell has done.
23:45I think it was a big learning experience for them last year.
23:48And if you're taking a look at the NFC, you know,
23:51obviously the Packers are going to need Jordan Love at full health
23:55to make a bit of a tilt.
23:56I don't think the Commanders are really going to be there once it's said and done,
24:00but they've been playing some fantastic football.
24:02And, you know, teams like the Vikings, the Eagles, I've got question marks on.
24:06So I think at the NFC, the price place for me is,
24:08I like what I've seen from the Detroit Lions.
24:11I think they're built for the big stage.
24:13And I think they could take another step forward
24:14from what we saw last season.
24:16And that puts them right in the thick of it.
24:19And we take a look at the Kansas City Chiefs.
24:20And rightfully so, they are the favorite,
24:22because you have to understand one thing.
24:23Do I think they're the most talented team in the NFL?
24:25No, I don't.
24:26But they still have Andy Reid and Patrick Holmes,
24:28and they're undefeated right now, which means, Dubsy,
24:30there's a really good chance they're going to be the number one overall seed
24:33in the AFC, which means every home game in the playoffs
24:36is going to be at Arrowhead Stadium.
24:37You take a look at the next couple of games.
24:39The Buccaneers come in incredibly injured.
24:41They should win that game.
24:42They'll get a tough push against the Broncos, but it's at home.
24:45At the Bills, it'll be a tough game.
24:46But then you see the Panthers and the Raiders.
24:48They are going to stack victories up here.
24:50So even if you're looking and saying, like, I don't buy into it,
24:52I don't think they're the best team right now,
24:55the fact of the matter is they're probably going to be the best team
24:57at the end, because why?
24:58It's hard to beat the Kansas City Chiefs anywhere,
25:00let alone beat the Kansas City Chiefs at home.
25:02If we get outside of that 10 to 1 year, it's the Eagles, the Packers,
25:05the Texans, the Vikings, the Commanders, and the Falcons.
25:08Anybody outside that you figure can get a good look,
25:11because the Eagles starting to come on strong.
25:13I've always been a proponent here of the Green Bay Packers.
25:16The Texans, with that Diggs injury a little bit down on them,
25:18not really buying into the Vikings.
25:20But I do think viable options here could come from the Eagles and the Packers
25:23at a decent price in the NFC Dubs.
25:26Yeah, it's a bit of a fight for me the last couple of weeks
25:28towards the Packers.
25:29The Eagles absolutely flying high.
25:32I like Jalen Hurts.
25:33I think he's an absolutely tremendous quarterback.
25:35The run game, Saquon Barkley, he's having a career best season.
25:38And the wide receiver duo, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith,
25:42yeah, not a bad one-two punch to have.
25:44So the Eagles could build a bit of momentum.
25:46Nick Sirianni got them working the right direction.
25:48They're going to be a tough out.
25:50Let's put the focus on the AFC Chiefs.
25:53Who can knock them off?
25:55Find out next, right here on The Early Line.
25:57Let's talk AFC.
25:58Some of the best teams in the NFL do reside in the AFC.
26:01And we just talked about the Super Bowl odds, 1 and 2.
26:03It's the Chiefs and the Ravens.
26:04So no surprise here, Dubs, 1 and 2 in the AFC on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
26:08Does have the Chiefs at a plus 200 price and the Ravens at a plus 330 price.
26:14Let's start there, 1 and 2.
26:15Now, obviously, I'm not going to ask you the question,
26:17do we think it's deserving that the Chiefs are the favorite?
26:19Of course it is.
26:20They're undefeated.
26:21They have a couple game lead over the Ravens and or the Buffalo Bills,
26:24Houston Texans.
26:25You get the point here.
26:26But let me ask you this question.
26:27If we lined up in a game tomorrow, Chiefs and the Ravens for all the marbles,
26:33Dubsie, where would your money be going?
26:36If it's tomorrow, does that count as regular season?
26:39Or we count on this as a playoff game with that extra juice,
26:42everything on the line?
26:42Because if it's the latter, it's on each side.
26:45Yeah.
26:45Neutral side.
26:46Neutral side.
26:47It's going to be the Kansas City Chiefs.
26:49They've proven time and time again they're primed up for the big spot.
26:52Not to say that there's question marks on the Baltimore Ravens,
26:56but I guess I have hesitations on Lamar Jackson in a big spot.
27:01He has failed to get the job done.
27:03And obviously, going against a formidable duo, tandem,
27:06in Andy Reid, Spaggs, Patty Mahomes, I guess
27:09the trifecta of some of the best minds in football,
27:12they just find a way to get it done.
27:15They will go against your strengths and turn them into weaknesses.
27:17So right now, if everything was on the line,
27:20I'd have to say it's the Kansas City Chiefs.
27:22What would it take for me to sway that opinion?
27:24I'd have to be wrong.
27:25I'd have to be proven that I was misreading Lamar Jackson in a prime spot.
27:30So until I see that, I cannot back with confidence.
27:33It's the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has a good chance
27:36of making it three on the trot.
27:39I love the AFC.
27:40I mean, I do, Dubsie.
27:41You know me.
27:41I am a tried and true Philadelphia Eagles fan all the way down.
27:45So sometimes I say in the NFC, I do like a team, which we're
27:48going to get to in the next segment.
27:49But if I'm looking here, the Chiefs, obviously a great football team.
27:53The Baltimore Ravens, I bet them last year to win the Super Bowl
27:56and was so disappointed because I thought I had money, easy money
27:58in my back pocket after they throttled the 49ers on Christmas.
28:02And then a couple of days later, it's like, hey, here we go.
28:05If only to find out in the AFC championship game,
28:07they just couldn't beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
28:08But I love two teams in the AFC.
28:10It's the Buffalo Bills, and it's the Pittsburgh Steelers.
28:13Now, we'll start with the Buffalo Bills.
28:15I think they have every component they need to win a Super Bowl.
28:18A quarterback that's playing unbelievably great football,
28:22now the MVP finalist in the leaderboard right now over Lamar Jackson.
28:26That's Josh Allen.
28:27They have wide receivers.
28:28They get Amari Cooper.
28:29You have a running back in Cook that looks like he's taking the next step.
28:32A defensive head coach.
28:33I love him at plus 420 price.
28:35And then you know me with the Pittsburgh Steelers,
28:37sitting at 14 to 1 on the Russ bandwagon,
28:40playing good football, heading into their bye.
28:42So if we remove the Chiefs and the Ravens, for me,
28:45it's the Bills and the Steelers, Dubzy.
28:47Who is it for you behind the Chiefs and the Ravens in the AFC?
28:51I think it'd be the Buffalo Bills.
28:53You know, Houston Texans have shown that they're
28:55going to be a tough out, strong, formidable.
28:58But I don't think that that news coming across the last 24
29:01is going to help their chances most to find digs.
29:03But love the addition of Cooper for the Buffalo Bills.
29:06They've got the run game.
29:07They can set the table, fear the run, and then get it downfield.
29:10They don't have that star standout one.
29:13But I think that actually helps their offense in a wacky way.
29:17There's no pressure on Josh Allen to just funnel
29:19that offense through one look.
29:20They're slicing it in different ways.
29:22And I think he's putting together an MVP caliber season.
29:25I think Josh Allen has been that good.
29:28If the Bills are going to continue to be one of the big threats in the AFC,
29:31it's going to be in big part thanks to Josh Allen, who's primed for a big spot.
29:36He's one of the best athletes, one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
29:39So outside of the big threats, I think it's Buffalo.
29:41It's the Bills who hold a bit of value.
29:44Look, Donnie, in terms of the Steelers coming out the north,
29:47I haven't been big on their chances.
29:49But in the last 10, 15 seconds, you got me thinking, saying,
29:53there's a lot of check marks that we go through
29:55to see if a team can be a genuine Super Bowl contender.
29:58And they're built for tough, greedy football on both sides of the ball.
30:03You'd obviously be banking on Russell Wilson to, you know,
30:06come up with close to career best form.
30:08But he really doesn't have to do anything amazing.
30:12He's just going to be that facilitator.
30:13They can lean on that run game.
30:15And it's always going to be that arm wrestle.
30:17The Pittsburgh Steelers, Donnie, could be worth a bit of a fly there.
30:20But outside of the top two choices, I love Buffalo.
30:23I love Josh Allen.
30:24And I just think the ceiling is a little higher.
30:26But until today, until right now, wasn't thinking of the Steelers like this.
30:31Yeah, the Steelers are interesting, too.
30:32Because again, Justin Fields has a little hamstring issue right now.
30:35Hopefully, that gets shored up.
30:36But sometimes I understand, like, starting quarterbacks
30:39don't want to get interrupted on the field, like Tom Brady for the Patriots.
30:42Even if you had a great Taysom Hill type player behind him,
30:46he's not coming off the field on the three yard line.
30:47But I do think there is a purpose for the Steelers
30:49that Justin Fields, you can use to make you an even better football team.
30:53That's why I'm really intrigued about the Steelers.
30:55And of course, with that devastating pass rush that they have,
30:57they can certainly wreck offensive game plans.
30:59But let's get to some of the deep cuts here.
31:01And the team I always have an issue with, it seems like, Dubsie,
31:04is the Bengals.
31:04They sit at 21 to 1 in the AFC.
31:06I don't think they're winning the AFC.
31:08And every time I want to write their obituary, I say to myself,
31:11oh, they're under 500.
31:12They're taking on losses.
31:13But they're still eligible with a chance to get that seventh wild card
31:17seed in the AFC because there's a lot of bad football
31:19teams outside of the top five, which is the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Texans,
31:24and Steelers.
31:24Who can we look at here?
31:25Is it the Bengals?
31:26Is it the Chargers?
31:27Is it the Colts?
31:28How about the Miami Dolphins with Tua Tagovailoa?
31:30Who is it in your mind?
31:32I think we're sitting back at this point in the season, Donnie,
31:35and trying to excuse some of the records.
31:37But as we've heard time and time again, you are what your record tells us you are.
31:41And I think the Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the most underwhelming teams
31:45at this point in the season.
31:46I put them right next door, the Miami Dolphins, right next door,
31:49the New York Jets.
31:50And at this point, I just can't see a way in which Joe Burrow and Cincy turn
31:54this thing around.
31:55I think the Chargers, it was always going to be a matter of the long game.
31:59What about the Denver Broncos?
32:01I know, you know, they sort of started a little sluggish.
32:04There's question marks on how high that ceiling really is.
32:06But they've got five wins.
32:08They're starting to build momentum.
32:09Bo Nix has only looked stronger and stronger the further this season goes.
32:14They're well-coached on the defensive side.
32:16Pat Sertain's an absolute superstar.
32:18They're not allowing a lot of points.
32:19So I think they could be a very tough out.
32:21And if they can continue to chalk up the Ws, maybe watch out for the Denver Broncos
32:26to be there.
32:27I feel like very similar DNA to Pittsburgh Steelers.
32:30Not a team that you want to get in that rock fight with.
32:33They're going to drag you down to their level.
32:35But I think that is longevity.
32:37And it's a sustainable way to play the way this season is shaking out.
32:40Because a lot of these other heavy hitters have not shown up.
32:43They cannot support the way in which they want to play football.
32:47Steelers can.
32:48Denver Broncos can.
32:49And I think there's still plenty of prices here in the AFC
32:51to make a bit of a tilt towards the postseason.
32:55How about the New York J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets?
32:5966.
33:00Not even to win the Super Bowl, Dovesy.
33:0160 to 1 to win the AFC.
33:04Telling you right now, you won't be with me tomorrow here on the show, Dovesy.
33:07J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets.
33:09Knock off the Texans on their way to a run.
33:12This is what New York wanted to hear.
33:13The Yankees might go down, but the Jets could have your back.
33:16And maybe not necessarily.
33:18NFC's next right here, early line.
33:20Don't go anywhere.
33:21Having a lot of fun setting up the NFC and the AFC.
33:24Who's going to win those conferences here?
33:26It does seem to be wide open in the AFC outside of those first two teams.
33:30Can some teams make those charges?
33:32And again, the thing that we love is it's not a three-game set.
33:35It's not a five-game set.
33:36It's not a seven-game set.
33:37Once you get to the playoff stubs, it's one and done.
33:39Either play good football or you're being sent home.
33:42Let's focus here on the NFC here at the FanDuel Sportsbook.
33:45Leader in the clubhouse right now in that odd sport, it's the Detroit Lions.
33:48My favorite team in the NFC right now.
33:51Followed by the San Francisco 49ers, which the odds market just
33:54can't quit those guys.
33:55The Eagles at a 6 to 1 price.
33:57The Packers 7 to 1.
33:58The Vikings at plus 9.50.
34:00That rounds out every team at 10 to 1 or less.
34:03So I always ask this question to start, Dubsy.
34:05The Lions in the leadership spot here at plus 3.20.
34:09Do you agree with that?
34:11Yeah, absolutely.
34:12Yeah, I thought they were fantastic last year.
34:14And they could just show us a bit more improvement.
34:17They're going to be one of the best teams in football.
34:18And yes, at this point, they absolutely are.
34:21Just coming up with the one loss.
34:22Jared Koff has been playing some fantastic, efficient football.
34:26They've got the run game with Montgomery and Gibbs to lean on.
34:29They've got one of the best wide receivers in the business, Amarah St.
34:33Brown.
34:33You've got Timmy Patrick, who's putting up some decent numbers
34:36since coming across.
34:38Obviously Hutchinson, the big fella.
34:39That's a massive loss on the other side of the ball.
34:42But they're well coached.
34:43I like their DNA.
34:44They can get it done with the run game, but they can split your downfield
34:47and get it vertical as well.
34:49They can put up points in bunches.
34:51And it seems to be a team of good locker room guys.
34:55Not such a team of good players, but it really is a good team.
34:58And for me, that spells that they're absolutely well coached.
35:01So at 6-1 for the season, I certainly think
35:04this is the team out of the conference to be back in.
35:06And I think this is a team that wouldn't take a backward step
35:09in going against a Baltimore, Kansas City Chiefs.
35:12I think they can step up and get it done.
35:14They're playing with confidence.
35:16And you look at some of the other teams in the conference
35:18here, Donnie, a couple of question marks.
35:21You highlight the odds makers cannot quit the 49ers.
35:24San Fran, there is the second choice of plus 400 if they can get healthy.
35:29I love your Eagles at 6-1.
35:30I think that's probably the price play for me.
35:33And the Packers and Vikings, just a little vulnerable.
35:36But Donnie, what are you making the chances here for Detroit?
35:39NFC North, it's certainly stacked.
35:41It's a loaded division, but they've got the quality, right?
35:45It is.
35:45They do have the quality.
35:46They're 6-1.
35:46Also, you bring up a great point here.
35:48Because so many times we talk about it.
35:49And if you just want to date the New England Patriots,
35:51didn't feel like dubsy for 15 straight years.
35:53They were just the king of their division, which
35:55meant they went 5-1 at a minimum every year, maybe even 6-0.
35:59They always played home games, similar to what
36:01you see with the Kansas City Chiefs.
36:02Once you get to the playoffs, home field advantage is massive.
36:05Detroit in that dome, much better than, let's just say,
36:07Detroit going outdoors and playing in some cold weather conditions,
36:10like in Philadelphia, or let's just say in Green Bay at that point.
36:13But I love everything about them.
36:14It's going to be interesting that we have the trade deadline next week.
36:18Their defense has been playing well, but they lost maybe their best overall
36:21player on the team itself with Aiden Hutchinson.
36:23The guy was an absolute menace this year.
36:25If they go out and make a move for a couple,
36:27or maybe just say one legitimate extra pass thresher,
36:30that could go the distance.
36:31But I've been stacking chips right now on the Detroit Lion Doves.
36:34$25 here, $50 here, buying it.
36:37But not to win the championship, just in the NFC market.
36:40Because I really believe they are the best overall team.
36:43The 49ers, they have so much talent.
36:45But can we trust them to be healthy when it
36:47matters at the end of the season?
36:48Christian McCaffrey is trying to come back.
36:50We get that.
36:50And if he's anything near what we've seen over the past two weeks with the 49ers,
36:53that is going to be massive.
36:54But they lost Ike.
36:55I'm just not trusting them, where we have so much in the Vandal Sportsbook,
36:59other sportsbooks out here, continue to put them up
37:01at the top of the leaderboard.
37:03The Packers and the Eagles, I do believe they should be neck and neck.
37:05And yes, the Eagles have a slight advantage now at 6 to 1,
37:08as opposed to a 7 to 1 price.
37:10But after that, I'm really not buying too many football teams.
37:12The Falcons will probably win the NFC South, and that's fine.
37:15I don't think they're doing any damage.
37:17The Cowboys, come on now.
37:1824 to 1, not even up to buy into.
37:20Maybe one of the more intriguing teams to me is not the Commanders.
37:23At 12 to 1, Dubsy, it's the Los Angeles Rams at 32 to 1,
37:27getting healthy at the right time here.
37:30And the fact of the matter is, they can win that division out there,
37:33which gives them an automatic home game in the playoffs.
37:36I thought you were going to say the Rams.
37:37I was hoping you were going to say the Rams.
37:39Take a look at the West.
37:40It's nothing but parity.
37:42We've got three teams with the four wins.
37:43The Cards 49ers in Seattle, and the Rams just one win back,
37:48and they've got a really good chance in going against Seattle here for Week 9.
37:52You look at the offensive weapons and star power.
37:54You've got one of the best quarterbacks in the game,
37:57Matty Stafford, when he's cooking, when he's healthy.
37:59You've got Puka Nakua, who suddenly came back.
38:02I had no idea he was ready to join the team
38:05or get back out there in the field.
38:06We saw him out there for Week 8 last week, and he was absolutely balling out.
38:10You've got Cooper Kupp and Kyron Williams, who continues to impress.
38:14I'll make the argument that he's up there with Todd Gurley.
38:17I don't know if he's doing more than Todd Gurley
38:19and how good he was for the Rams going a handful of years ago,
38:22but they've got the offensive firepower.
38:24They can score in bunches,
38:26and just one win back of sitting up top of the division,
38:29that's a monster price play coming out of the NFC there, Donnie.
38:33I like Kelly Green a lot with the Philadelphia Eagles,
38:35but I like Money Green sometimes even better.
38:38It's a lion's meat in the NFC.
38:40MVP? Who wins that?
38:42We're going to talk about that right up next.
38:44MVP! MVP!
38:46You'll hear that chanted quite a bit.
38:48And by the way, Dubsy, in the MVP market of the NFL,
38:51it's getting red hot because just last week it felt like,
38:54oh, it's Lamar Jackson.
38:56He's going to win this easily here.
38:58Five touchdown performance looked absolutely sensational,
39:01only to get beat by the Cleveland Browns,
39:03and it wasn't his fault.
39:04But look at the odds market as it sits today.
39:06The new leader in the clubhouse,
39:09Josh Allen at a plus 270 price as the favorite,
39:12Lamar Jackson now at a plus 370 price,
39:15Patrick Mahomes at a five to one.
39:17Let's start one, two, three,
39:19because all three of these players
39:21all ready to start this season
39:22have been the leader in the clubhouse.
39:24Mahomes, Jackson, and Allen.
39:26Today, if you had to hand that award out on the stage, Dubs,
39:30who is getting your award for MVP so far of the NFL season?
39:35I'd hand it out to Lamar Jackson,
39:37but there'd be a caveat, there'd be an asterisk saying,
39:40just saying that there's too much football to be played in.
39:43He's got another MVP caliber player
39:46playing right alongside him, Derrick Henry.
39:48If Derrick Henry continues to have one of the best seasons
39:50we've seen at the running back position,
39:52that's going to hurt the stock for Lamar Jackson, a plus 370.
39:55And I think that's the way it will play out
39:57the further we get into this year.
39:59For me, if I were to put this award on a pedestal,
40:03once it's all said and done, looking into the future,
40:05and that's what we're trying to do,
40:06prognosticate and handicap here,
40:08I think it will be Josh Allen.
40:10I love the bills.
40:11I think they're built for success.
40:12He's put up some fantastic numbers to start the year.
40:15Not electric numbers,
40:16but he's been playing very efficient football.
40:19And I love the fact that he's got the turnovers
40:22in the interceptions out of his game.
40:24He's playing with maturity.
40:25He's using the wheels and the feet only when he has to.
40:29And suddenly he's got all these wide receivers
40:31who are buying in, getting it downfield
40:33and not having that genuine one knockout punch.
40:35So I think this offense looks fantastic.
40:38Much part in thanks to Josh Allen.
40:40And it's a war, Donny,
40:42that's obviously dominated by that quarterback position.
40:44But I look at it and say,
40:46what is this quarterback bringing to the table?
40:48What would this offense and team look like
40:50if you were to take this superstar out and just put,
40:53I hate to be that guy,
40:54but a Joe Flacco or a Richardson in that starting position,
40:58how much would they lose?
40:59And I think for the bills, they'd lose everything.
41:01Josh Allen is that cornerstone.
41:03You look at a team like the Ravens with Lamar Jackson,
41:06would they really lose a lot not having him?
41:08Yes, but they'd still be the Baltimore Ravens
41:11and they'd still have one of the best rosters on paper.
41:13So Josh Allen is gonna win it once it's all said and done.
41:16If it was handed out going into week nine, Lamar Jackson.
41:19It's a Switzerland answer, Donny.
41:22By the way, you look at Major League Baseball dubs, right?
41:24You have 162 games to separate yourself.
41:27You take a look at, let's just say the MVP in basketball,
41:3082 games to separate yourself.
41:31In the NFL, you only have 17 games,
41:33which is why on a week-to-week basis,
41:34we get so much turmoil here.
41:36One bad performance by Josh Allen, he's out of there.
41:38One loss to a team you weren't supposed to lose to
41:40for the Ravens, Lamar Jackson drops down.
41:42Patrick Wilhelmstein hasn't lost a football game,
41:44but he certainly hasn't been the catalyst per se
41:47for that team, but he sits at five to one.
41:49So I love to see how on a day-to-day basis,
41:51this changes here.
41:52But the guys on the outside looking in,
41:54let's go six to one and a little bit higher.
41:56Jerry Goff has been awesome for Detroit so far.
41:59He didn't even throw for 100 yards over the weekend.
42:01They put up 50 plus points,
42:02which shows you the talent on that football team.
42:04Jaden Daniels now rocketing up that leaderboard
42:07to nine to one price here for Washington.
42:10If that late Hail Mary pushed them through,
42:12where they might actually be the best team in the NFC East.
42:15CJ Stroud, 13 to one, loses another weapon
42:17at the wide receiver position.
42:19So many good players,
42:20even outside of Allen, Jackson, and the Holmes.
42:23If we looked at that second level,
42:25whether it's Goff, Daniels, Stroud, Hertz, Purdy,
42:27Joe Burrow, Jordan Love,
42:28who would get your attention there
42:30to try to crack into that top three eventually?
42:33It'd be the Kelly kid,
42:34Detroit Lions star quarterback, Jared Goff.
42:37I think he's looked fantastic.
42:39You look at his passer rating,
42:40QBR was down substantially last week,
42:43but he's been playing some fantastic football.
42:45He's showing genuine leadership.
42:47He's putting up the numbers and the stats to support it.
42:50Not that it's an award just primarily based on the metrics,
42:53but I think Detroit Lions,
42:55they're having another fantastic season,
42:57much part in thanks to big bad Jared Goff
42:59who's playing some of his best football.
43:01I would say career best season.
43:03If they can continue to pick up the Ws,
43:06that's the outlier for me.
43:07Not a knock against Jaden Daniels,
43:09but I just don't think they can keep up.
43:11I think they've overachieved at this point of the season.
43:14CJ Stroud, he loses his number one,
43:17well, one of his top two primary targets there with digs.
43:20And for Jordan Love and the Packers,
43:22injury's the biggest concern.
43:24It's a long season.
43:25Jordan Love, he started off up against it.
43:27It doesn't look like it's getting any easier.
43:29You certainly need the game time and the reps.
43:31So Jared Goff as the price play for me, Donnie.
43:35You know, you take a look at some of the other guys, right?
43:37And you have to have people there on the leaderboard.
43:39I understand that.
43:40Like Jalen Hurts rushes for three touchdowns on Sunday,
43:43one passing touchdown.
43:44The Eagles play good football the rest of the way.
43:46Sure, he's going to get looks.
43:47And understandably, if he puts up those numbers.
43:49Brock Purdy, 22 to one, not really having a great season.
43:52Didn't play all that well the past couple of weeks.
43:54We'll see where he goes.
43:55But Joe Burrow, 22 to one also.
43:57If 500 around that record,
44:0022 to one seems like a little bit of a mispriced number.
44:03Down the leaderboard chances.
44:05I always try to take a look at guys like Derek Henry
44:07at a 60 to one price.
44:08It's so hard for running backs to win it
44:09because you're probably have to set
44:11the all time rushing record,
44:12including either A, touchdowns or B.
44:15Rushing yards to try to get up into that equation.
44:17Sam Darnold at 33 to one.
44:18Like Sam Darnold's 33 to one.
44:20Derek Henry is 60 to one.
44:21It just doesn't seem right at this point.
44:23Justin Herbert, more of a ball control offense now.
44:2580 to one price.
44:26Gino Smith even thrown in there at 100 to one.
44:29So it just feels like dubsy.
44:30Like that top five to top six to top seven
44:33really looks like they're the only chances we have to win.
44:36Or is there somebody way down that leaderboard
44:38that you're taking a look at?
44:40Donnie, the only name that stands out to me
44:42is for the Bengals here.
44:45Big bad Joey Burrow.
44:46When he hasn't got the peroxide
44:48and doing the fashion shows of the off season.
44:51He's still one of the best quarterbacks in the game,
44:53but he's banking on the Bengals making a bit of a run.
44:56Now they're gonna have a good chance to do so.
44:59They've got the Raiders on deck.
45:00It's the Ravens charge the Steelers,
45:02but he's gonna have to put up massive numbers.
45:05We're talking two, three passing touchdowns,
45:08a game north of 300, 350 yards
45:11and trying to get those style points, that wow factor.
45:14And if you like that, you've got to like the Bengals
45:16to chalk up a couple of W's and maybe be that team
45:19who could make that wild ride out of the AFC.
45:23So that's the outlier for me.
45:25We know what Joey Burrow is certainly capable of.
45:27He's got the pieces and the weapons around him
45:30if they can just get it moving in the right direction.
45:32He's at 22 to one plus 2200 for a very good reason.
45:36But if you're a better who likes since he turned it around,
45:39you got to think it's gonna be thanks to Joe Burrow.
45:42That's the outlier for me, Donnie,
45:44but I'm not completely sold.
45:45So maybe a little sprinkle,
45:47little pizza money play, if you will.
45:50Yeah, I loved you.
45:50I mean, Josh Young deserved to be the plus 270 price
45:52at the top of that leaderboard.
45:53We understand that.
45:55Quarterbacks are always gonna be up high.
45:56Jared Goff is an interesting one,
45:58but they have so many talented running backs
45:59in that factory that take away from the touchdowns
46:01because sometimes at the end of the season,
46:03doves, we're looking at wins in your football team.
46:05And then we go right to the statistics and say,
46:07hey, equal amount of wins.
46:09This guy threw for 41 touchdowns, this guy for 37.
46:12The guy with 41 is gonna get that extra bump.
46:14Interesting ones, maybe a little bit farther down,
46:17like the Matthew Staffords of the world
46:19at 120 to one,
46:21because you're looking for what I always like to call,
46:22Dubsy, the extra credit, right?
46:24If you say to yourself, hey,
46:25the Rams look like they might've been one of those teams
46:27that are gonna blow up their entire team,
46:29caught fire by the end of the season,
46:30winning the NFC West and Matthew Stafford
46:32certainly is gonna be a big part of that.
46:34That's one thing I do take a look at.
46:37Saquon Barkley with the Eagles, he's been tremendous,
46:39but he doesn't get enough touchdowns here.
46:40Every one or two yard run, which should go to him,
46:42goes to Jalen Hurts.
46:44Aaron Rodgers at 250 to one.
46:46Now that would be hilarious if they turned around
46:48and because it was Aaron Rodgers,
46:50I just don't know if he would get enough media hype for me.
46:53So Josh Allen, I do think he should be in the lead.
46:55Jared Goff for me is one to watch out for
46:57and way down the leaderboard,
46:59Matthew Stafford for me at 120 to one price dubs.
47:03Donnie, I love the price.
47:05I feel like you're buying in on the West Coast,
47:08represent the Rams and Matthew Stafford.
47:11And you look at a team like, say Joey Barrow or CJ Stroud,
47:16they're substantially gonna have to do a lot more
47:19for their teams with less weapons.
47:22Matty Stafford's got some of the best weapons to work with
47:25for any quarterback in the league,
47:26which is gonna give him that ability week in, week out.
47:29It doesn't matter who they're playing against
47:31to stuff the stat sheet.
47:32If the defensive side of the ball can lock things down,
47:35they're gonna put up 28, 35 points week in, week out
47:39and make a bit of a run towards the playoffs.
47:41We saw it at the back end of last year
47:43When you've got Puka, Kyron and Cooper Cup at full health,
47:47watch out, especially if they're playing it so fine
47:49on a fast track,
47:50they can put up points with the very best of them
47:52and Matty Stafford,
47:53the stats are gonna look very favorable
47:55as long as he doesn't turn that ball over.
47:58They called Grant in the electric city.
48:00Maybe that new electric city is Washington DC
48:02with James Daniels, nine to one price to an MVP,
48:04not rookie of the year.
48:05That's crazy.
48:06We'll talk next by yourself.
48:08Our focus, the Kansas City Chiefs.
48:11Why?
48:12They have Andy Reid.
48:13Why?
48:14They have Patrick Mahomes.
48:15Why?
48:15They have multiple Super Bowls under the belt.
48:17And also, Dubsy, they are a perfect seven and oh
48:21on the season.
48:22So let's take a look at Kansas City as a whole right now.
48:25Seven and oh, and you might think like,
48:26wow, what are they dropping?
48:2740 points a game here, Patrick Mahomes
48:29and that high octane offense.
48:30No, not necessarily.
48:3224.7 points, which is okay.
48:35Giving up under 20 points, which is fantastic.
48:38If you look at this football team as a whole,
48:40let's just take a look now, Dubsy.
48:42Are you impressed with so far
48:44what the Kansas City Chiefs have done on the season?
48:47Absolutely.
48:48They're not picking up any star points, Tony,
48:50but the only statistic that matters is the win,
48:53loss, perfect, undefeated record.
48:56Nothing gets easier in search
48:57of a third consecutive Lombardi.
48:59I guess it's the intangibles that stand out for me.
49:02They continue to find ways to get those wins
49:04on Sunday afternoon.
49:06They've got some of the best minds in the business,
49:09Andy Reid, Spaggs, Patrick Mahomes,
49:11and they're a tough out.
49:12They can do it in a multitude of different ways.
49:15They continue to play with injuries.
49:17They're banged up, but Patrick Mahomes,
49:19I don't think we put enough credit on the star quarterback,
49:22just trying to get them downfield
49:23and get them back into the winners.
49:25So yeah, very impressed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
49:27Haven't looked the prettiest or the flashiest,
49:29but that doesn't matter.
49:31It's working.
49:32No, it certainly is working.
49:33Let's take a look at what they've done so far
49:35in those seven games.
49:36Beat the Ravens 27-20.
49:38That was a late game, toe out of bounds by a tight end,
49:42which could have led to a two-point conversion
49:44and a victory for the Ravens, but it didn't.
49:45The Bengals, late in that game,
49:47that pass interference call, they win by one point.
49:49You see the Falcons game, 22-17, close game.
49:52Chargers, 17-10, close game.
49:54Handle the Saints by two touchdowns,
49:56but then you have that game against the 49ers,
49:58win by double digits,
49:59and then technically a close game with the Raiders
50:01by seven points.
50:02So here's what we're building up to, Dubsy.
50:04That's a 7-0 record to start the season.
50:07Not since the 1972 Miami Dolphins as a team
50:10cruised through the regular season unbeaten,
50:13and that 72 Dolphins team also ended up
50:15winning the Super Bowl.
50:16So by or sell, the Kansas City Chiefs
50:20can go undefeated this season.
50:24Sell, sell, sell.
50:25The Kansas City Chiefs are not going through
50:28the regular season undefeated.
50:30It's not a thing.
50:31It's not possible.
50:32They don't have the horses.
50:33They don't have the cattle.
50:34I love Paddy Mahomes, but I don't love him that much.
50:37I don't think they go through another round,
50:38another week of being undefeated.
50:41I think the buck stops with Tampa Bay
50:43and Baker Mayfield.
50:44And the bucks, that's where I'm going with this one, Donnie.
50:46It's too tough.
50:48There's too much parity in the NFL.
50:50I know they've got this perfect record thus far,
50:53but they're just doing it in a dogfight,
50:55in an arm wrestle style of way.
50:57I don't think that's gonna be enough for them
50:59in trying to go up against some of these
51:00spirited, motivated teams with a bit more juice on the line.
51:04It's worked out in favor.
51:05They're gonna be there.
51:06They're gonna be there once it's all said and done
51:08at the big dance.
51:09But I think a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
51:11who are getting set for Monday Night Football,
51:13this is where the loss comes.
51:15When you cannot run without track meet.
51:17A team that's put up over 110 points
51:19in the last three weeks, Donnie,
51:21this is the cause for concern for me.
51:23So I'm selling it.
51:24What about you, Donnie?
51:25Buy or sell that the Chiefs continue this undefeated run?
51:29It's gotta be a wacky morning for Dubzy over there
51:31because they absolutely, Dubzy,
51:33are going to beat the Buccaneers at home.
51:34If you told me Mike Evans and Godwin
51:36were gonna play in this football game,
51:38I'd have given it to you.
51:38But since they're not, no shot for me.
51:40Now they are gonna get a push from the Broncos,
51:42but I do still think,
51:43if we're looking at the remaining parts of that schedule,
51:45that's two wins for me.
51:46At the Buffalo Bills is a tough spot here.
51:49You keep a Panthers, Raiders, nope.
51:50Charges at home, nope.
51:51Browns on the road, nope.
51:52Texans at home, nope.
51:53Don't think so.
51:54At the Steelers.
51:55So if I'm looking at two really trouble spots here
51:59for the Kansas City Chiefs,
52:01that would be at the Bills and then at the Steelers.
52:03Now also keep in mind,
52:04final game of the season at the Broncos,
52:07two things could go wrong
52:08because this is gonna bring up
52:09the next part of this equation.
52:11The Denver Broncos, to me,
52:12they all look like they're gonna play for a wild card spot
52:14the rest of the way out,
52:15the way they're playing now and the way their record is.
52:17So there is a chance that game,
52:19the Broncos have at home in week 18 of the season
52:23where the Kansas City Chiefs
52:24might have everything wrapped up.
52:26So here's another part of this buy yourself question.
52:29If the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated
52:32all the way through, let's just say week 16,
52:34which means you have two games left,
52:36the Steelers and the Broncos both on the road,
52:38but they already have wrapped up the number one overall seed
52:42does Andy Reid owe it to the Kansas City Chiefs
52:45to let them try to go for an undefeated season
52:48or does it only matter if they get the Super Bowl win?
52:53No, I think you do.
52:54And at this point, you've already rattled up
52:57to Super Bowls the last two years,
52:59a third consecutive hat trick would be nice,
53:01but it really would be a special feat.
53:03And I believe that, you know,
53:05playing in the NFL is only getting tougher and tougher.
53:07Every team is getting better and better.
53:09Every young quarterback is having more success
53:12earlier in their careers,
53:13which makes it even tougher to win,
53:15let alone stay undefeated
53:17throughout the whole regular season.
53:19So yes, absolutely.
53:20Andy Reid would owe it not only to his players
53:23and staff and personnel, but to all of us as fans,
53:26this great game, you want to see something like that,
53:29which may be the last chance we see, you know,
53:32in the next five, 10, 15 years, maybe ever.
53:35So absolutely.
53:36I don't think it's going to happen.
53:38I don't think they get through this week, Dottie.
53:40I've said it.
53:41There's something about intangibles
53:44that's hard to quantify for Patrick Mahomes
53:46and the Kansas City Chiefs.
53:48Call it championship experience, pedigree, DNA.
53:51It's working for them,
53:53but I just think they're going to get caught
53:54in a little look-ahead spot.
53:56At times, they struggle to put up those points,
53:58and maybe that's why the stat sheet
54:00hasn't looked so glamorous for Patty Mahomes,
54:02but it would be fantastic stuff, Dottie.
54:04And how can we say that it's not going to happen
54:06because they continue to make us look silly.
54:09When you write them off and say it's impossible,
54:11voila, second Super Bowl, let's make it three.
54:15Yes, it's been a long time
54:16since we had that undefeated regular season,
54:18which the Patriots did have, and quite frankly,
54:19they were like a buzzsaw through the NFL.
54:21Not really that case here with Kansas City,
54:23but a win is a win, and every win that they pick up,
54:26more pressure mounts on them to go for it.
54:28I do believe that is right.
54:30Andy Reid in the past, look, if you're not undefeated,
54:32he's always rested his players late
54:34when the games are meaningless,
54:35as opposed to getting his team injured,
54:37just trying to say, hey, we got to stay sharp here.
54:39But I do think he owes it also.
54:41In his career, if he never won a Super Bowl,
54:43maybe his outlook is a little bit different,
54:45but you're also talking about a three-peat
54:47for the Kansas City Chiefs to cap it off
54:49with an unbeaten regular season.
54:51That would go down as maybe the biggest
54:54and best dynasty we've ever seen in the NFL,
54:57if that feet can be pulled off.
54:59That's what they'll be playing for.
55:00But as we pointed out, at the Bills,
55:02it's going to be an extremely tough game,
55:03and then back-to-back games on the road
55:05at the end of the season, you know the Steelers
55:07will be playing for something at that point,
55:08at least we anticipate, and maybe even the Denver Broncos.
55:11Certainly something to keep an eye on there.
55:13I'm excited to see what we get out of the Chiefs,
55:15and can they continue this win streak here?
55:17Can Patrick Holmes win an MVP, win another Super Bowl?
55:20It's all going to be in the cards if they continue
55:22to stay healthy and play well.
