A fatal multi-vehicle crash on the North-South Expressway claimed three lives early Wednesday (Jan 15) morning.

The incident occurred at 5:40 am at kilometer 226.5 on the northbound stretch between Senawang and Ayer Keroh, near Rembau.

00:18The crash began when a flower and soil delivery lorry driven by 73-year-old Mohamed Essa Daharin
00:25lost control of the vehicle.
00:27The lorry struck a guardrail before coming to rest in the left lane.
00:32Three cars following behind were unable to stop in time and collided with the stationary
00:37lorry.
00:38The accident resulted in three fatalities, Mohamed Essa Daharin, the 73-year-old lorry
00:44driver Mohamed Yousuf Ali, a 44-year-old Bangladeshi lorry attendant, and Terence Angji Young,
00:51a 21-year-old undergraduate student.
00:54The lorry driver and his attendant died instantly from severe head injuries, while Young passed
00:59away later at Rembau Hospital.
01:01Also involved in the accident were five other individuals who suffered serious injuries,
01:07while two escaped unharmed.
01:09Police are investigating the incident under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
