00:00The initial hearing of the entire Tri-Committee of the Camera regarding the problem of fake news in the country has already started today.

00:08The various social media platforms and other stakeholders have also joined the hearing.

00:19Currently, there are already 60 resolutions in the Camera regarding the fight against fake news.

00:26That is why, today, the House Tri-Committee has already started their initial deliberation regarding this issue.

00:35The House Committee on Public Order and Safety Chair Dan Fernandez has already agreed that it is time for the spread of fake news in the country, especially on social media.

00:46In the initial discussion of the House Tri-Committee that was formed by the Committee on Public Order and Safety,

00:53Committee on Public Information, and Committee on Information and Communications Technology,

00:58various social media platforms and other stakeholders have joined the hearing.

01:03According to Congressman Fernandez, even though they recognize the freedom of expression of everyone,

01:09it is time for people to be held accountable for spreading fake news and misinformation.

01:17I think we have to criminalize because there are bills that were filed against us for criminalizing these troll farms.

01:25And I think it is just right.

01:27For example, you can see that the President, the Vice President, the Speaker, and the Senate President are being bullied.

01:38It is hard, but I think it is because of the freedom of expression.

01:44But if they are the ones creating misinformation,

01:52they are creating their own narrative because they are catering to those who are financing them.

01:59That is what we should check.

02:02Aside from the separate hearing of the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture,

02:07the issue of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Program of the Department of Education was also discussed.

02:14A few congressmen learned about the teaching of CSE schools,

02:18but there is still no separate law on this.

02:21The DepEd explained that it is part of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 or RH Law.

02:29Meanwhile, we are also waiting for the expected impeachment of the Ethics Complaint of Atty. Ferdinand Topacio against Congressman Dan Fernandez.

02:39This is about the hearings of the House Squad Committee.

02:42Topacio was convicted for his and Fernandez's actions and for violating the rights of his client, Cassandra Ong.
