00:08to the disconnect Putrajaya's bureaucrats have with the realities of medical practice.

00:14In the Keluar Sekejap podcast, Khairi said the decision-making process was handled by civil servants who lacked a practical understanding of hospital operations.

00:24This decision was made by those in Putrajaya who are divorced from reality.

00:30Either they are PTD who have never worked in a hospital because they are not doctors,

00:34or they are doctors but have been too long in administration and forgot what it's like to be doing rounds and things like that.

00:44WBB, which sought to limit on-call hours for doctors from 33 to 18 hours,

00:50was criticized by healthcare workers for cutting their allowances by including extended shifts into the standard 45-hour work week.

00:58The cabinet ultimately halted its implementation following opposition by interest groups and doctors.
