00:00Firstly, thank you so much for your very, very kind words.
00:09I don't know.
00:10I think it's a journey that you have, which is very personal as an actor with yourself.
00:16And of course, there is a strong element of wanting to give the audience a great experience
00:21when they come into the theater.
00:23I think with time and post COVID, all of us actors have recognized the fact that, you
00:28know, it's not that easy to get the audience in the theaters like how it used to be before
00:32COVID.
00:33They like to watch stuff at home and stuff.
00:36So we are, you know, we're aware of that.
00:38And we want to really give you an amazing experience because, you know, the love of
00:41cinema is always watching something on the big screen.
00:45So that would always be the charm of filmmaking for all of us.
00:49And we would want people to experience a film like that.
00:53And Deva is a film that I feel that you should definitely watch on the big screen.
00:56It's a big screen experience and not just the character, but the world of the film is
01:01something that should be experienced in the theater.
01:04And it's now out on the 31st of Jan.
01:06So yes, a lot of effort, a lot of work, a lot of heart has gone into Deva.
01:18Nothing is too much, you know, if you love what you do, then why is anything too much?
01:25So I would say whatever it takes to get the job done.
01:28But of course, we're professional actors, you know, you don't need to actually do something.
01:31I think that's something sometimes people think that an actor should prep like that.
01:35Some actors also think like that.
01:36But I don't at all prescribe to that kind of a mindset.
01:39I think it's a job and you should know professionally how to do it.
01:44But you should give everything that you have to make it the best that it can be.
01:53You know, it's very relatable.
01:54I mean, a cop universe is something that will always kind of have its own space.
01:58It's about how and what is that universe that you're creating, you know, and different filmmakers
02:03have different kind of ways of showcasing that universe, so to say.
02:08And Deva is made by a filmmaker who's made, you know, who's been a part of Malayalam cinema
02:14for 18 years.
02:15And he's been making movies about cops and he's been making thrillers for a long period
02:19of time.
02:20So it's very much going to be his take, his unique lens and view, point of view from which
02:26he will tell the story.
02:27And Deva as a character also, I think, is him, his own person.
02:32So you know, he might be a cop, but don't expect him to be like a regular cop.
02:36He's a strong personality and he'll take you through a very interesting and different experience.
02:41I think I've learned to just, like, I'm very passionate about what I do.
02:51And the more time I've spent doing it, I've come to realize that I'm very passionate about
02:57it.
02:58So I want to give it my best.
02:59And as you spend more years as an actor, it helps you realize and recognize how fortunate
03:06you have been when you look back at your body of work and you feel like, man, I got some
03:10great opportunities to work with some great people, you know, and I'm fortunate to have
03:15been in that position and to have the love that I have of the audience for such a long
03:20period of time.
03:21It's been more than 21 years, you know, and I hope to work for another 20.
03:25That's what I feel like, you know.
03:27So it's just a lot of gratitude and you want to do your best.
03:31You want to grow.
03:32You want to evolve.
03:33You want to, you know, you don't want people to say, haan, uska time tha.
03:37You want your time to stay, you know.
03:39So you fight for it and you want to do more.
03:41So I mean, that's kind of how I feel right now.
03:49Well, that's right now a tentative kind of floaty title that people have been giving.
03:53That's not the final title of the film.
03:57It's being produced by, you know, Sajid Nadiadwala, who is like somebody I have known for a very
04:04long time and I'm happy to be working with him.
04:06It's directed by Vishal Sir, Vishal Bhardwaj, who I've done so many films with.
04:10It's got a stellar cast.
04:12It's got me.
04:13It's got Tripti.
04:14It's got Nana Sir.
04:15It's got Randeep Hooda.
04:16It's got Vikrant Messi.
04:17So who's in a special appearance?
04:20And I have thoroughly enjoyed the work of all these people and I'm very excited to collaborate
04:25and work with all of them.
04:27It's a gangster film based in the 90s.
04:29At heart, it's a love story, but it's full of action and gangsters.
04:33So hopefully that will be appealing to a wide section of the audience because we want
04:37a wide section of the audience to see the film.
