00:00Good afternoon from Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03This is our update for the upcoming 24 hours.
00:08We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:12this thick cloud in the northern part of the Luzon
00:16is the continuous effect of the shear line or convergence
00:20of hot and cold winds.
00:22At the moment, this shear line is affecting a large part of the southern Luzon.
00:29For the next 24 hours, we will experience a high chance of clouds and rain
00:35in a large part of our country,
00:37particularly here in the area of Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region,
00:41the whole Calabar Zone, the whole of Mimaropa,
00:44and here in the province of Aurora.
00:47In a large part of the central and northern Luzon,
00:50including Metro Manila,
00:51we will experience clouds and rain brought by the northeast monsoon
00:56or the cold winds.
00:58For the rest of the country, in the rest of Visayas and the rest of Mindanao,
01:02our prevailing weather system is easterly.
01:04We will experience high chances of clouds and rain,
01:07hot and cold winds in the areas of Caraga and Davao Region.
01:11In the meantime, we will experience a part of clouds and rain
01:14and a chance of thunderstorms in a large part of Visayas
01:19and in a large part of Mindanao.
01:21At the moment, we are not monitoring the low-pressure area
01:23or the bad weather inside and outside our park
01:26where there may be thunderstorms in the coming days.
01:29This is our latest weather advisory issued as of 5 p.m. today.
01:35For the next 24 hours,
01:36we will experience strong rains along the shoreline,
01:39moderate to heavy rains,
01:41or 50 to 100 mm of rain possible
01:45in the areas shaded by yellow.
01:49In the provinces of Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
01:53These rains will start this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon.
01:57By Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon,
02:01more areas will experience rain.
02:04The axis of our shoreline will shift southward or downward.
02:10That's why you will experience rain in this part
02:12or you will experience strong rains in the eastern section of Visayas.
02:16Moderate to heavy rains are also possible here in Quezon,
02:19Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur,
02:21Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon,
02:24and in the northern and eastern suburbs.
02:27By Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon,
02:30we expect a northward shift
02:33or the axis of our shoreline will shift southward.
02:36That's why the areas here in Central Luzon,
02:39in the province of Aurora,
02:41will also experience heavy rains along the shoreline.
02:44We hope that the heavy rains brought by this weather season
02:48will continue in some areas of Southern Luzon.
02:50Heavy to intense rains are the areas shaded by orange
02:53in the provinces of Quezon and Camarines Norte.
02:56Moderate to heavy rains can be experienced
02:59in some areas shaded by yellow,
03:03particularly in the provinces of Aurora,
03:05Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar.
03:10That's why in the mentioned areas,
03:12especially in the areas of Quezon and Bicol Region,
03:15for the next three days,
03:16we need to be ready and alert
03:18to the risks of flooding and landslides
03:20because we still hope that the rain will continue
03:23and that it will be possible to experience it.
03:28This is the time of day tomorrow here in Luzon.
03:31A large part of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
03:33will experience a dark time and a high chance of rain.
03:37The areas of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region,
03:41including the areas of Aurora,
03:42will experience a high chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms
03:46because of the shear line or the convergence of hot and cold winds.
03:50For Metro Manila and the rest of Northern and Central Luzon,
03:53the floods are associated with the Northeast Monsoon
03:57or the cold winds.
03:58If we will experience rain,
04:00these are the light rains in Pagkambon only,
04:02especially here in the area of Ilocos Region
04:05where we expect fair weather or clear skies.
04:10For the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
04:13the entire Palawan, Visayas, and Eastern section of Mindanao
04:17will experience a high chance of rain
04:20because starting tomorrow,
04:21we expect a southward shift or a downward shift of the shear line.
04:27That's why a large part of Visayas and Palawan
04:30will experience heavy and continuous rains.
04:36Continuous floods and rains will occur in the Eastern section of Mindanao,
04:40in the areas of Caraga and Davao Region.
04:43Meanwhile, for the rest of Mindanao,
04:45the Central and Western sections of Mindanao
04:48will continue to experience clear skies tomorrow,
04:51except for the chances of sudden and quick rains
04:55caused by thunderstorms.
04:58And for the situation of our ocean,
04:59as of 5 p.m. today, we have a gale warning
05:02in several cities of our country.
05:05We expect high seas in the areas of Batanes,
05:09in Cagayan, along with Mabuhayan Islands,
05:12Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan,
05:16in the area of Isabela,
05:18in the Western coast of Zambales,
05:21in Aurora, Kalayaan Islands,
05:26in the Northern coast of Quezon,
05:29along with Polilio Islands,
05:31in Camarines Norte,
05:33Northern coast of Camarines Sur,
05:35Northern and Eastern coasts of Catanduanes,
05:38Eastern coast of Albay,
05:40Eastern coast of Sorsogon,
05:42and the Northern coast of Northern Samar.
05:45So to our fellow fishermen
05:47and those who have small boats
05:50and the aforementioned seaboards,
05:51let's not go too far,
05:53because we will experience high seas
05:55with strong winds.
05:57For the rest of Luzon and Visayas,
05:59moderate to strong
06:01or moderate to strong
06:03in the waves that we may experience,
06:05so be careful also
06:07to our fellow fishermen and fishermen
06:09in a large part of Luzon and Visayas.
06:12And for our 3-day weather outlook
06:15in the neighboring areas of our country,
06:17this area of Luzon will experience
06:19rain until early next week
06:22on Mondays and Tuesdays.
06:25This is combined with the effect of
06:26shoreline and northeast monsoon.
06:27Metro Manila, Baguio, and Legazpi
06:30will experience heavy rainfall
06:32and high chance of rain on these days.
06:35So I repeat,
06:37this area of the Bicol Region,
06:38let's be prepared for the chance
06:40of flash floods and landslides
06:42because for the past days,
06:44we have witnessed significant rainfall
06:46in this area.
06:47It's possible that the soil is saturated.
06:49Even if we experience rain,
06:51even if it's just light rain,
06:52it's still possible for it to flood
06:54and the chances of landslides are high.
06:57By Wednesday next week,
06:59we expect improving weather conditions
07:01in a large part of Luzon.
07:03Fair weather is expected
07:05aside from the chances of thunderstorms
07:08brought by the storm
07:09in the northern and central areas of Luzon
07:11and the chances of thunderstorms
07:13in the southern areas of Luzon.
07:15Here in Visayas,
07:16in the areas of Metro Cebu,
07:18Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
07:20because of the shoreline,
07:21from Monday to Tuesday,
07:22the chances of floods and landslides
07:24will continue.
07:25We expect improving weather conditions
07:28by Wednesday
07:29aside from the chances of floods
07:31and landslides brought by thunderstorms.
07:34Here in Mindanao,
07:36especially the eastern section of Mindanao,
07:39Caragat, Davao Region,
07:40the rainy season will continue.
07:43The chances of floods
07:45and scattered thunderstorms are high
07:48because of the easterlies
07:49or the hot winds from the Pacific Ocean.
07:52The hot and rainy season
07:53will continue for most of Mindanao
07:55especially in the areas
07:57of Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga City.
08:00Even though the weather is clear,
08:02we will still bring raincoats
08:04because from late afternoon to evening,
08:06the chances of isolated rain showers
08:10or localized thunderstorms are still there.
08:12Here in Manila,
08:13the sun will set at 5.58 p.m.
08:17and will rise tomorrow at 6.22 a.m.
