00:00Malaysia has maintained its ranking and score in Transparency International's 2024 Corruption
00:07Perceptions Index, scoring 50 points as it did in 2023. In the Antigrav Group's latest reports,
00:14Malaysia remained in 57th place among the 180 countries surveyed. The CPI measures corruption
00:21perception on a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 represents a high level of corruption and 100
00:28signifies a very clean record. Malaysia scored 50 points in 2023, 47 in 2022, 48 in 2021, and 51
00:37in 2020. Denmark topped the 2024 index with a score of 90, followed by Finland with 88,
00:44Singapore with 84, New Zealand with 83, and Luxembourg with 81. Other regional neighbours
00:51were ranked much lower than Malaysia, including Vietnam at 88th with 40 points, Indonesia at 99th
00:58with 37 points, Thailand at 107th with 34 points, and the Philippines at 114th with 33 points.
01:06In a press release, Transparency International Malaysia said it was noteworthy that Malaysia
01:11had not dropped in its score or ranking but reminded Putrajaya that its goal was to be
01:16among the top 25 countries by 2033.
