There are a lot of characters to balance in the X-Men film franchise alone, and the final cut of X-Men: Apocalypse sadly had to cut down on the roles of certain fan-favorite characters. The film was already quite long as it was, so leaving these scenes in would have probably pushed the runtime over the edge, but a lot of fans would like to see them in the future. One scene was even heavily featured in the film's promotional material, meaning many fans were confused and upset that it didn't appear in the film. Let's take a look at some X-Men: Apocalypse scenes that you didn't see.

00:00As the smoke settles from the brawl between the X-Men and that big, weird blue guy, it's
00:08time to look at some of the axe scenes from X-Men Apocalypse.
00:11While not all of these scenes would have changed the course of the film, we're still crossing
00:15our claws that these scratch scenes make it onto the home versions of the movie.
00:18Hope you brought your ruby quartz sunglasses, there are some potentially dangerous spoilers
00:22ahead.
00:23Canceling Jubilee's fireworks
00:25There was ever a chance for Jubilee to shine, X-Men Apocalypse was it.
00:29A fan favorite from the comics and cartoon for years, we wanted Jubilee to have her big
00:34screen moment.
00:35Instead, she played the same role she did in the previous films, just another background
00:40student who doesn't do anything.
00:42Fandango reveals that director Bryan Singer wanted her to shine and filmed a scene showcasing
00:46her fireworks-like ability.
00:48He said, quote, we do have a moment where Jubilee uses her powers, and you'll see that
00:51on the DVD.
00:53We wanted more Jubilee.
00:54It's okay, Bryan, we all did.
00:56The Dazzled
00:59Another heartbreaking character cut?
01:01The rumored Dazzler cameo.
01:02The blonde pop star mutant was supposedly going to show up on an album cover the ex-kids
01:06find in a record store.
01:08Adding fuel to the fire were rumors that real-life blonde pop star Taylor Swift dropped by the
01:12set of Apocalypse, seemingly proven by producer Simon Kinberg's tweeted photo of himself,
01:17James McAvoy, Sophie Turner, and the Swift one herself.
01:21Kinberg later admitted that the photo wasn't from the set, but from backstage at Swift's
01:24Montreal show, and that she wasn't going to dazzle audiences after all.
01:29Still, hopefully we'll get that glimpse of the disco-dancing mutant's album on the DVD
01:33release special features.
01:35Brain Freeze
01:36While we're on the subject of the ex-teens' mall trip, there were more Nightcrawler scenes
01:40cut from the film.
01:41For starters, the final cut didn't include the TV spot showing Kurt Wagner experiencing
01:45brain freeze from some type of smoothie.
01:47According to an interview with Fandango, Bryan Singer axed yet another scene with Nightcrawler.
01:51Quote,
01:52"...they're moving through the mall and Nightcrawler remarks about the other people that they don't
01:56fear us, and he thinks the mall is this paradise."
01:58Phoenix-powered first-person shooter
02:01This picture of Jean Grey holding Scott Somers' neck and helping him aim his optic blast was
02:05used in the promotional material for X-Men Apocalypse, but the scene never actually happened
02:09in the film.
02:11It's a shame the film didn't include it, because it shows a degree of trust between the two
02:14future lovebirds, especially since Cyclops was scared, almost ashamed of his powers throughout
02:19the first half of the film.
02:21Hopefully, we'll see it in the special features.
02:23Splitting the Somers siblings
02:26When the Xavier Institute explodes, Alex Somers, better known as Havoc, dies in the blast.
02:30His brother Cyclops doesn't get to say goodbye, as Stryker soldiers storm the Xavier school
02:34ruins and start abducting students just minutes after the explosion.
02:38Bryan Singer explained that he removed a heartfelt farewell scene between the two Somers bros.
02:42He said it slowed things down just a bit too much.
02:45Quote,
02:46"...if you sat in a theater and watched it with all the scenes back in, it may seem good,
02:49but slow.
02:50I don't want the audience to feel that."
02:52It could be worse.
02:53At least it wasn't like Cyclops' death in The Last Stand.
