A damp start for many of us this morning, with bands of rain pushing eastwards over England and Scotland. This rain should clear by the afternoon leaving some bright skies, while a few showers will continue to affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and the south. Still rather blustery, especially in the northwest along coast, but winds easing in the south. Milder than recent days. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 24/02/2025. 00:00Good morning, well after an unsettled Sunday most of us should see a good
00:05deal of sunny spells as we go through Monday but we still hold on some heavy
00:09spells of rain so it is a damp start out there so take care during rush hour
00:14there could be some spray on the roads the band of rain though will clear its
00:17way eastwards and then behind that we should see brighter skies developing
00:22with a few showers bubbling up especially across the southern parts of
00:25England into London and East Anglia behind that across the Midlands northern
00:29England plenty of sunshine through the afternoon with frequent showers across
00:34Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland where they could turn heavy possibly
00:38with the odd rumble of thunder still breezy especially across northwestern
00:42parts of Scotland but lighter winds further towards the south compared to
00:47Sunday so hopefully feeling pleasant in that sunshine we'll see highs up to 13
00:52or 14 degrees as we go through Monday evening and overnight the showers across
00:58the southeast will clear away so drier for a time here but further showers
01:02moving through and they'll become a bit more organized as we go into the
01:06overnight period to bring some longer spells of rain across the southeast
01:10behind that it's going to be a mixture of clear spells but also some showers
01:14moving through especially across parts of Scotland where they could turn a
01:18little bit wintry over the hills but we'll see the winds coming in a bit more
01:24of a northwesterly direction to actually a decline in temperatures so a chilly
01:28a night to come as we start Tuesday morning and a touch of frost in places
01:33but it's going to be a damp start across the southeast once again but that band
01:38of rain will clear through so turning drier and brighter into the afternoon
01:43and then for many of us it's a case of sunny spells and scattered showers
01:48moving through some of them still on the heavy side and wintry across parts of
01:52Scotland especially over the hills but for most of us we should see generally
01:56light winds but temperatures a touch down compared to the milder spell that
02:01we've had so around the average for the time of year highs of 8 to 11 degrees
