00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather update from the Met Office and this
00:04morning is bright for many as well as dry. Rain is retreating to the far north and north-west
00:10of Scotland. Here's that weather front now continuing to bring some wet weather across
00:14these parts. Still breezy across many areas, a bit gusty over the Highlands and then later
00:20on this weather front will move in across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, showers
00:23breaking out ahead of it. But through this morning first thing it's dry. A bit chilly
00:28outside but not as cold as the last few nights across much of England and Wales as well
00:33as Southern Scotland. Fine also for Eastern Scotland. For Northern Ireland a bit of a
00:38breeze always more in the way of clouds but generally speaking it's a dry start to the
00:42day. Not the case across the far north and north-west of Scotland. A keen breeze here
00:47and also that persistent rain which will continue as we head through the morning but it is edging
00:52its way northwards as well as north-westwards. So let's pick up on some detail as we head
00:58through this morning. The rain across more northern and western areas continues its
01:04passage northwards. You can see the cloud will break across the central belt much of
01:08Scotland. Brighter skies coming through here. Sunny across England and Wales. Brighter for
01:12a time across Northern Ireland and then through the afternoon you can see the cloud building
01:16a little bit across Wales as well as the West Country. A few showers then break out and
01:20they'll push northwards into Northern England as well as Southern Scotland as some rain
01:24moves in across Northern Ireland. Before that though here are your temperatures. So
01:2812 or 13 for Northern Ireland. Probably around 13 or 14 for Scotland at the very best. 15,
01:3416 perhaps an isolated 17 across eastern counties as we head through the afternoon today. So
01:40highest temperatures of the week. Feeling warm in that sunshine and just a bit of a
01:45breeze coming through from a southerly direction. So let's pick up on the detail through this
01:50evening. You saw those showers across Wales as well as Northern England. They're marching
01:55northwards through the evening as this rain across Northern Ireland clears western Scotland
01:59as well. It then moves its way eastwards as we head through into the early hours of Friday
02:04morning. So Friday is going to be a much milder start to the day. It will be a bit showery
02:09in places across England and Wales. At this point though some drier skies for Scotland
02:13as well as Northern Ireland. Now as we head through the morning tomorrow you can see this
02:18rain is retreating eastwards. Some brighter skies coming through across eastern counties
02:24and the showery bursts continue through lunchtime across the Midlands as well as eastern parts
02:29of Wales. Into Saturday that rain pushes northwards. It's cleared eastwards so we'll see a clear
02:35night across many areas and some showery bursts later across the far west and southwest. In
02:40between some fine weather, some sunshine, dry conditions, a lighter breeze. The breeze
02:44is now coming in from the southeast and here are your temperatures. It's going to be a
02:47bit colder across the far north and west and yet again in Scotland we'll see that rain
02:52just lingering on across the far north there. Some brighter skies for Northern Ireland until
02:56much later you'll see a little bit of showery rain. Some showery rain clipping Wales through
03:01the afternoon on Saturday. Elsewhere it's dry. Temperatures typically coming in around
03:0615 or 16 Celsius further south as well as southeast 12 for Northern Ireland. Here's
03:11your outlook through Sunday. It's a fine day. You'll see some sunshine. Temperatures around
03:1612 to 16 Celsius. A few showers will arrive across the far south later and expect one
03:21or two showers across the far north of Scotland. I'll see you later. Have a lovely day.
