00:00Good day from D.O.S.D. Pagasa. This is our weather update for March 11, 2025.
00:06At the moment, the main atmospheric system that is affecting our country is easterlies.
00:12This will bring hot air with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms
00:18or rainfall, lightning and thunderstorms.
00:22At the moment, we are not being watched for any bad weather or any typhoon
00:27inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:30We expect this in the next few weeks.
00:34For our forecast for tomorrow, the easterlies will continue to be affected
00:39and this will bring cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms
00:44here in Aurora and Quezon Province.
00:47In the northern part, this is the extreme northern part of our country,
00:52specifically in Batanes, the northeast monsoon will bring
00:57rain and cloudy skies.
01:00We expect that the northeast monsoon will slowly dissipate
01:05but we expect that this will surge again next week
01:11and will affect not only the northernmost part of the country
01:15but also the provinces in our northern Luzon.
01:19In Metro Manila and the southern part of Luzon,
01:22we expect that the skies will be clear,
01:26which means that it will be sunny in the day time or in the morning and noon time
01:31but there are chances of rain, lightning and thunderstorms,
01:35especially in the afternoon.
01:36Why do we always expect this kind of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon?
01:43This is connected to the water cycle that we call.
01:46During the morning, our land is exposed to sunlight
01:50along with the bodies of water that surrounds our country.
01:56During the day, there is an evaporation.
02:01The updraft or the movement of winds from the surface,
02:05from the ground to the atmosphere,
02:07contributes to cloud formation.
02:13These cloud formations occur locally
02:16where the updraft is higher.
02:22If that is enough to have a condensation process
02:26or to have thunderstorms that will bring rain,
02:30eventually, this will bring precipitation or rain,
02:35especially in the afternoon and at night.
02:39The average temperature in Metro Manila is from 24 to 33,
02:43in Baguio, it is 17 to 25,
02:46in Lawag, it is 24 to 34,
02:48in Tagaytay, 22 to 32,
02:50in Tuguegarao, 23 to 33
02:52and in Legazpi, 25 to 31.
02:55In Palawan, we also expect clear skies
02:59where there are chances of rain and thunderstorms,
03:03especially in the afternoon.
03:04The average temperature in Puerto Princesa is 27 to 32
03:08and in Kalayaan Island, it is also 27 to 32.
03:13In the rest of the country,
03:15specifically in Visayas and Mindanao,
03:17we continue to expect clear skies
03:20where there are chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
03:24This can be observed in Visayas and Mindanao
03:28and the average temperature in Cebu is 26 to 32,
03:32as well as in Iloilo.
03:34In Tacloban, it is 25 to 32,
03:37in Cagayan de Oro, it is 24 to 31,
03:39in Davao, it is 25 to 33
03:41and in Sambuanga, it is 24 to 34.
03:44At the moment, we do not have a gale warning.
03:48Our fellow Filipinos who are fishermen and seafarers
03:54in any part of our country
03:57can be safe.
03:58Let us be careful here in the eastern part
04:01because our waves are moderate to strong.
04:04In the three-day weather outlook,
04:06in the neighboring areas of our country,
04:10from March 13 to 15,
04:12Thursday to Saturday,
04:14in Metro Manila to Legazpi,
04:16we expect clear skies
04:18where there are chances of rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:22They differ in temperature
04:24because in Baguio,
04:26the expected temperature is lower
04:28due to its elevation.
04:30In higher areas,
04:32the temperature they experience is relatively lower.
04:37In Metro Cebu,
04:38in Iloilo City and Tacloban City,
04:41we will continue to experience the influence of the easterlies.
04:45That is why we expect clear skies
04:49where there are chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:55This will continue until Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Sambuanga.
05:01Aside from this,
05:03we expect that there will be a surge in the northeast monsoon
05:09and we expect this next week.
05:11The termination of our forecast
05:14will not be released yet.
05:17We need to follow the criteria that we have in our forecast
05:22to be able to mention this.
05:24Specifically,
05:26we may terminate in the third week of March.
05:31Our sun will set later at 6.06pm
05:34and will rise again tomorrow at 6.06am.
05:38For additional information,
05:40including the Heat Index,
