00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Cusumet and today I'm out in Manchester asking people about smoking
00:05and that's because this Wednesday is National Non-Smoking Day.
00:08So we want to know whether people think it is possible to give up smoking completely,
00:12whether they've started vaping and whether they see it as a useful and healthier alternative to smoking itself.
00:18I stopped five months ago. I started off with a patch and vaping and now I'm nothing, completely off of it.
00:26I didn't find it too hard to be honest. I'd definitely give it a try.
00:29Personally, a lot of my family now smoke vapes who are heavy smokers. Their smoking intake has increased drastically.
00:36Like my dad for example, he's just holding it every day. My uncle, holding it every day.
00:40Yeah, he might have smoked 10 to 20 before, but now he's just vaping 24-7.
00:45So, definitely smoking more. Is that more unhealthy for him? I don't know.
00:50So you don't know what's in a lot of these vapes nowadays. They're all like bright, cozy and funky names.
00:54They're like more towards kids in the sense that they're giving them more towards kids than anything.
00:58You don't know what's in them. You don't know how often they're going to be in 20 years' time.
