00:54Cover crop means a crop you put down after the main crop of corn or soybeans.
01:02We're just going to pull up a root ball and you see where you have a little bit of corn
01:07residue here and then when we look at this you see all the fine roots in here and you
01:15see how the soil crumbles.
01:18So that biology is adding structure to the soil and that means that we have good, better
01:27soil structure which allows for more nutrient movement, it allows for better water infiltration.
01:33So there's absolutely no erosion on this field and we just went through a series of storms
01:40with several inches of rain and we have absolutely no erosion.
