00:19to Honduras arrived in Venezuela as part of the return to the homeland plan.
00:29In Myanmar, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 on the Richter scale shook the center of the
00:33country, leaving at least 144 people dead and severe damage to infrastructure.

00:49launched attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
01:02Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Eterso Studios in Caracas,
01:06Venezuela.
01:07We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:24In Venezuela, the first meeting of ministers and high authorities of the scientific and
01:27technological area of Albatizepi moves forward.
01:31The Executive Secretary of the Alliance, Jorge Arreaza, welcomed the guest ministers from
01:34various countries and urged the care of the people in the face of the new technologies
01:38dominated by the West.
01:40In addition, Arreaza emphasized that a technological sovereignty should be built.
01:44The Executive Secretary also affirmed that the government's own capacities should be
01:47used to develop protection for the peoples from the dangers of technologies in the hands
01:52of the centers of power.
02:19Venezuela rejects Chile's move to take before the ICC a case that has long been resolved
02:23in order to attack the sovereignty of Venezuela and please U.S. agendas.
02:27In this context, the Venezuelan foreign minister published the following statement on his social
02:31media.
02:32The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the absurd farce that the government
02:37of Chile intends to stage before the International Criminal Court based on lies and falsehoods
02:43that only exist in the imagination of those who have decided to turn foreign policy into
02:49a shoddy spectacle, following the anti-Venezuelan policy line of the late Sebastián Piñera
02:54in the best Pinochetist style of creating false flag operations.
02:59Attempting to take an isolated case fed by lies to the ICC is not only legal but untenable,
03:12but also reveals a complete ignorance of how the international system and the rules that
03:16work.
03:17The Venezuelan government is not a court that airs the fanciful fables of immaculate political
03:20intrigues nor a stage for media stunts.
03:23It is clear that the Chilean authorities have no idea of how these mechanisms operate or
03:28worse still, that they are simply willing to distort them in order to align themselves
03:32with interests alien to justice.
03:35The statement that was recently published by the foreign ministry continues by saying
03:38that that position not only lacks legal basis but is also sustained by a vicious hatred
03:43against Venezuela, demonstrating the desperation to please agendas that come from the U.S.
03:48that seek to erode the sovereignty of states.
03:50Chile instead of lending itself to shameful maneuvers should focus on its own serious
03:55internal issues, including the systematic violation of the human rights of the Mapuche
03:59people and the reparation of social protests.
04:03The statement also concludes that Venezuela is a country that can give lessons about respect
04:08for human rights and the dignity of peoples.
04:11We will not accept attacks from those who have made from institutional violence an everyday
04:15practice and who are now trying to divert attention from their own miseries with clumsy
04:20political maneuvers.
04:41The seventh flight with 178 migrants whom the U.S. administration has sent illegally
04:45to Honduras arrived in Venezuela as part of the Return to the Homeland Plan.
04:49The plane of the state-owned Conviasa Airline landed on Venezuela with 168 men and 13 women.
04:55Upon their arrival, the nationals were received by the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace,
05:00José Alcabello and the President of the Great Mission Return to the Homeland, Anaí Arismendi,
05:05who reaffirmed their commitment to the welfare of the Venezuelan migrants.
05:08The flight took place after Washington had sent more than 200 migrants to El Salvador
05:13accused and detained for their alleged but not proven links with the extinct criminal
05:17train that outgrew them.
05:29At this moment, 2.46 a.m. in the morning local time, we received all the immigrants that
05:38came in this flight. 165 men who have been returning to their homeland. They are going
05:49to reunite with their families. One of the men we received, they said the government
05:57of the U.S. is sharing, is cutting the families apart, dividing children from their mothers.
06:18With the Civic Act and the Colorado Party House and the participation of four presidents
06:23Uruguay celebrates the 40th anniversary of the return of democracy in the country. The
06:28event was attended by the current president of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, and former presidents
06:32Julio María Zanguinetti, José Mujica and Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, who debated
06:37for more than an hour, while former president Luis Lacalle Pozo sent a video with statements.
06:42In this context, Orsi celebrated the meeting and highlighted the democratic dynamic that
06:46exists in the country between the opposition and the government. For his part, former president
06:50José Pepe Mujica called for unity among Uruguayans.
07:03An Ecuadorian presidential candidate for the Citizens' Revolution Party, Luisa González,
07:08urged the indigenous community for unity by the time of her visit to their cities. González
07:12has complied with her said campaign agenda to disclose her government proposals nationwide
07:16ahead of the elections on April 13th. Thus, the nominee is expected to pass by Pallado
07:21and Ambato cities at 2 and 5 p.m. local time. Earlier on Thursday, the leftist leader stopped
07:27by Pujilli, where she highlighted that she would respect and defend consulting indigenous
07:32peoples in case of any oil and mining projects in the future. Furthermore, the presidential
07:37candidate promised to encourage bilingual intercultural education and to stand for the
07:41rights of the indigenous peoples abided by the 2008 constitution.
08:12Meanwhile, President Alejandro Boa traveled to the United States, leaving his nation amid
08:23the environmental emergency caused by the oil spill in Esmeralda province, where the
08:27government had not found out solutions to the crisis triggered by the lack of water
08:31due to polluted rivers. Boa's visit to Miami occurred while the campaign for the presidential
08:35runoff is underway. In this regard, the Ecuadorian head of state took part Wednesday of campaign
08:41actions after National Electoral Council sent him a notification.
09:03A Myanmar declared state of emergency in regions affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that
09:08shook the center of the country and so far left 144 people dead and severe damage to
09:13infrastructure. The tremor was recorded at 12.50 local time at a depth of 10 kilometers
09:17and the epicenter was located about 17 kilometers from Mandalay, the second largest city in
09:22the Asian country with 1.2 million inhabitants. Local media said that the death toll rose
09:28to 20 in the city of Mandalay. The first images published by the country's media show collapsed
09:33buildings, temples and structures. The effects of the earthquake were also felt in Jagon,
09:38the main city of Myanmar, where buildings were evacuated.
09:50The earthquake also hit Thailand, where residential buildings and offices were evacuated. Public
09:55broadcaster Thai PBS reported the collapse of a 30-story building under construction
10:00in the capital, which housed around 50 people, 7 of whom managed to escape while the rest
10:05are trapped. According to the media outlet, teams from the National Institute of Emergency
10:09Medicine are rushing to the area to provide assistance. According to the latest information,
10:13at least 8 persons have been found dead at the scene.
10:21The Indian government offered humanitarian aid to Myanmar and Thailand after a 7-plus
10:32magnitude earthquake hit both nations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his support
10:37to the governments of Myanmar and Thailand to respond to the emergency arising from the
10:40natural disaster. The Prime Minister also requested to monitor the situation and to
10:44maintain contact through the foreign ministry. Modi instructed the local authorities to remain
10:50alert in case of possible aftershocks.
11:04And South Korean authorities have contained the main places in the country's largest
11:07forest fires on record, as rain and better weather allowed for more helicopters to fly
11:12and dump water, dousing the flames. The Minister of Korea Forest Service reported that the
11:17main fires in five regions were under control by 5 p.m. local time. Spread by strong winds
11:23in bone-dry conditions, the wildfires killed at least 28 people and charred more than 45,000
11:28hectares in the southeastern region. More than 30,000 people were displaced, many of
11:33them elderly. The flames consumed everything in their path from historic temples to homes
11:38in mountains north Gyeongsang.
11:45Panamanian President Jose Raul Molino said during a press conference that his country
11:51would not return to having U.S. military bases, in response to reports filled by Donald Trump's
11:56threat to recover the interoceanic canal.
12:01Believe it or not, there will be no military bases of any power, be it the United States
12:09or any other part of the world. The neutrality treaty is respected and the only country with
12:14the right to have a military presence in Panama or military security bases in Panama
12:20is our republic, the Republic of Panama.
12:26My government cannot go against history. This country fought to dismantle the U.S. military
12:33bases in our territory. From there to us cooperating, we have been doing it since the 90s, and especially
12:41today on issues such as drug trafficking, immigration, etc. I sincerely hope that when
12:50the time comes and he presents his credentials, I will have a frank conversation with him.
12:55I have the best recommendations of him directly from Secretary of State Rubio himself. So
13:00we are going to understand each other. Both he and other authorities have expressed their
13:05interest in having a good relation with Panama.
13:08The Mexican government officially approved a reform for the protection of native corn,
13:12prohibiting the use of genetically modified corn throughout the national territory. This
13:16measure substantially modifies Articles 4 and 27 of the Political Constitution of the
13:21United Mexican States in support of the production of native corn. The new text of the fourth
13:26constitutional article establishes that corn production in the country must remain free
13:30of any genetic modification produced through techniques that transcend the natural barriers
13:35of reproduction or recombination, while Article 27 defines the premises for guaranteeing food
13:40sovereignty and sustainable rural development. Previously, Mexico's President Klaas J. Baum
13:45stated that this initiative seeks to guarantee biodiversity, food sovereignty, and the health
13:50of Mexicans.

14:36Welcome back. For the first time since the ceasefire agreement of November 2004, the
14:42Israeli occupation forces launched attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The Zionist
14:46regime attacked the Lebanese city in retaliation for two alleged rockets fired from the Lebanese
14:50territory north of Tel Aviv. Israeli authorities described the alleged attacks as a flagrant
14:54violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon and a direct threat to the Israeli
14:58people. At the same time, the Israeli army announced that its troops have begun to mobilize
15:02in southern Lebanon in order to neutralize the movements of the Lebanese resistance Hezbollah.
15:15The Lebanese government urged the international community to exert more pressure on the Israeli
15:18regime to stop its aggressions toward southern border towns. The Prime Minister Nawaf Salam
15:23issued a statement to request the Lebanese army to open the necessary investigation to
15:27hold those responsible for the attacks on the southern border. In addition, the authority
15:32noted that military forces will resume their operations to prevent the spread of violence
15:36in the region. Meanwhile, Hezbollah's Lebanese resistance movement reaffirmed its commitment
15:40to reach a ceasefire deal and it denied any involvement in the recent strikes on northern
15:44Israel.
15:49Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces mounted nighttime attacks on the Gaza Strip, which
15:57killed at least 14 Palestinians. Outlets informed that Israeli warplanes had dropped bombs on
16:02Gaza, Rafa and Hanjouni cities. They further reported a saturny strike on the state's
16:07hometown, which had left eight civilian casualties, including a baby who had been rescued from
16:12a house rubble.
16:14Meanwhile, Israeli shellings on eastern Hanjouni injured two civilians, including a child.
16:19Official sources registered some 855 deaths and almost 1,900 injured as a result of both
16:25the broken ceasefire deal by Israel on March 18th and the resumption of the genocidal Israeli
16:30offensive against the Gaza Strip.
16:44The United Nations warned that the M23 rebels had threatened to expand their raids to Shiopo
16:49and Maniama provinces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On the United Nations Security
16:53Council meeting, the head of the UN Stabilization Mission in the DRC, Bento Keita, stressed
16:58that the M23 rebels, after having occupied north and south Kibbutz with the support of
17:02Rwanda, were advancing towards Walikale. Therefore, the entity ensured that the M23 was threatening
17:08and endangering the rest of the neighboring territories.
17:11In this regard, Bento Keita denounced the progressive imposition of a parallel administration
17:15by the rebels. The UN representative acknowledged that the ceasefire deal had not been respected,
17:20so she urged the African Union to appoint a mediator to lead peace efforts in the DRC.
17:37The Russian government denounced that the Ukrainian regime violated a truce agreement
17:41by continuing its attacks on Russian energy facilities. The Russian Defense Ministry said
17:45that Ukrainian forces on Friday morning launched an attack on the Tsutsa gas metering station,
17:50causing the energy facility to be effectively destroyed. The gas metering station is part
17:55of the infrastructure through which one of the largest supply corridors of Russian natural
17:59gas to Europe used to pass. Earlier in the day, the Russian anti-aircraft defenses in
18:03Saratov province intercepted 19 UAVs targeting the infrastructure of the oil refinery in
18:08the city.
18:15In Iran, a multitude of people marched in the streets of the country's main cities
18:24on the World Al-Quds Day to reject the Israeli occupation and defend the Palestinian cause.
18:28Amid Iranian and Palestinian flags, the attendees denounced the occupation of the Israeli regime
18:32and the violation of the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, while demanding the resignation of
18:37Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Among the crowd, posters with images of the mosque's
18:41planet, accompanied by the phrase, Al-Quds is Ours, a slogan that defines the determination
18:46of the Muslim world to liberate the city of Jerusalem. The Day of Al-Quds, instituted
18:50in 1979 by the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Iman Khomeini, continues to be for more than
18:5740 years a promise of war until the Palestinian people achieve their self-determination.
