00:00his whole life was a million to one shot here's your look at the caustic plastic
00:04slice Stallone shop rocky legacy collection rocky the underdog one six
00:08scale collectible action figure
00:25introducing our rocky underdog six scale action figure endorsed and approved by
00:29the man himself Sylvester Stallone and also endorsed by the iconic sneaker
00:33company Converse this meticulously crafted collectible captures the essence
00:37of Rocky Balboa the underdog boxer who captured the hearts of millions standing
00:42at 12 inches tall this action figures a true representation of the Italian
00:45stallion himself what sets this figure apart is the attention to detail first
00:49we have sneakers Rocky is wearing our authentic Converse Chuck Taylor all-stars
00:53officially licensed by the iconic brand next we have fabric beanie hat that adds
00:57a touch of authenticity rocky signature look for the ultimate rocky experience
01:01consider the ultimate version of this action figure the ultimate and the deluxe
01:05comes with complete with magnetic diorama featuring the famous Philadelphia
01:08steps recreate the iconic training montage as rocky ascends the steps
01:12preparing for a shot at greatness in the movie rock may have been the underdog
01:16but the slice Stallone shop have been champs when it comes to producing six
01:20scale figures in slice Stallone's likeness before though we get a closer
01:23look at the new Rocky Balboa the underdog I'd like to thank not only the
01:27folks over at slice Stallone shop but also caustic plastic that did provide
01:30the sample we could have a look at Rocky Balboa the underdog is slated to drop in
01:34April 2025 there are actually three versions of Rocky Balboa available if
01:39you want to go with the basics the standard release figure isn't going to
01:42come include with a stairwell and that's gonna be going for $386 the deluxe that
01:46we're looking at in this review that does come with the stairs and it's gonna
01:49go for $429 and then if you want to go all out there's also going to be as well
01:53the ultimate edition that's gonna come with the stairwell and the slab of beef
01:56that being said though let's go ahead and take the tape measure and see how
01:59tall the Italian stallion stands and the answer to that is 12 inches in heights
02:04translating though to a figure that's 31 centimeters tall certainly wasn't the
02:08first time Rockies entered the ring nor is this the first time either we've
02:11looked at a sixth scale figure bearing the likeness of Balboa in fact we're
02:14gonna slide over here the underdog Rocky that we're about to have a look at
02:17bringing the earlier looked at loan shark collector Rocky of course being
02:21that the fact that both of them are bearing the resemblance of Stallone you
02:24would think as well that the size of the figures would be exactly the same
02:27the build of bodies are also similar in size as well the only thing that's
02:30obviously different though is the loan shark collector Rocky is bearing of
02:33course the fedora on top of his head while now the underdog Rocky is having a
02:37beanie instead how underdog rock does have accessories perhaps maybe not as
02:41high of a count as the loan shark release of him in both cases though both
02:44figures came include with an index card that features almost like a watercolor
02:48painting of the character on the front now in this case though unlike the loan
02:51shark release we have Rocky here at the very bottom of the Philadelphia Museum
02:54of Arts so many tours go back to that so those same similar steps ascending
02:59the stairwell in the same way that Rocky did in that montage I really like this
03:03artwork and actually this is the same artwork that's featured on the front of
03:05the box you may have already knows that for yourself if we flip around though
03:08the back of it the Rocky legacy collection Rocky one six scale
03:11collectible action figure of the underdog supervision and direction done
03:14by Sylvester Stallone himself executive producer and direction Nick Cardasco of
03:19the sly Stallone shop art artist direction and production management
03:23Fabio Varese 3d head sculpt and they go Gil 3d accessory design Sean dabs
03:28masterpaint Dario Barbera and head sculpt likeness direction and box
03:32artwork by John Revoli Revoli that's www.iconinart.com of course we also do
03:40have a signature down below here of sly Stallone's not really a real signature
03:43but at least it gives you the closest thing to getting a signature from sly
03:46other than meeting sly in person one thing I will say though about the index
03:50cards I may probably say this several times when we look at these six scale
03:52figures you kind of wish that they come included like a little standee something
03:56though that you could just put the cards into and you can have displayed along
03:58with Rocky now I've just got it right now next to Philadelphia stairwell just
04:02so you can have sort of an idea of what that's gonna look like I'm not gonna
04:05have that permanently displayed that way so let's just go ahead and move that out
04:08of the way while we are sort of speaking still at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
04:11let's get a look at the stairwell it's not obviously the entire stairwell you
04:15would imagine how much space that's gonna take up on your real estate space
04:18of collection shelves but we get ourselves at least three steps and
04:21that's not bad at all the thing I also really like about them is that each of
04:25the steps are magnetic they seem to be though hollow and I mean obviously you
04:29don't expect this to be a fully weighted stairwell but one thing is also really
04:33kind of cool about it as we spin this around it's finished from like really
04:35all the sides even on the bottom as well they have also added rubberized feet so
04:39to prevent any scratching on surfaces but you do also come in clue with these
04:42placards you get one that says Rocky and if I grab the other one right by his
04:46feet you get one that says the Italian Stallion both of these also have
04:50magnetics on the backs as well so with these now you can really put them
04:54anywhere that you want I mean realistically you can also snap them on
04:57the front there as well because again like every one of the stairwells is
04:59magnetic you can also put it on the side as well for me I would rather just have
05:03it displayed on the side so of course there's then more real estate space for
05:06rocky to be at ascending the stairwell when you're also putting this if you
05:10choose to have these on the stairs you want to make sure as well that with this
05:13one it lines up to the stairwell on this side that makes sense because if you if
05:17you go to put it on this side for example it's gonna be sticking out so
05:22obviously if you want to use both this one is gonna really belong on this side
05:25and rocky's gonna stay on this side here now this is gonna be for the deluxe
05:30release of rocky now if say for example you didn't want to go and the route of
05:34spending I think was like four hundred twenty nine dollars to get the deluxe
05:37version of him which essentially is gonna come include the same hands the
05:40only it's really gonna be different though is the diorama pieces that go
05:43with rocky the deluxe version is gonna come include the Philadelphia stairwell
05:46if you for example you just only want to go with the bare basics of rocky the
05:50regular release of the underdog is only gonna come include with the oval black
05:53shape display stand with the adjustable neck and you can display rocky that way
05:57as well if given really the choice I don't know if I would want to really get
06:00the side of beef I mean again that's just gonna take a little bit more space
06:03but let's just say you're a diehard fan of rocky and want to go again all in the
06:07deluxe version the ultimate edition is gonna come included not only with this
06:10stairwell but also the slab of beef as well which I don't have because this was
06:14only the deluxe that was provided moving that off to the side though and
06:17one of the other things I also come in clue with rocky is you get yourself some
06:20additional wrist pegs for the off chance and we don't want to think that pegs
06:23start to break at all but if if so happens that you happen to break one or
06:27you maybe lose one at least you got four extras to work with I haven't felt the
06:31need to open this up I mean obviously I'm just gonna keep keeping this in the
06:33bag until the off chance happens that one of them happen to break then I've
06:37got a couple of extras to work with on to then his hands now I think the hands
06:41haven't changed at all whether you get this release where you get the standard
06:44or you go with the ultimate release what's rather interesting though is that
06:48rocky on the ends of his forearms right now have closed fists obviously good for
06:51sparring and practicing he does also have a bloodied versions of these hands
06:55which I think lend better to the ultimate release because if not for the
06:58slab of beef he doesn't really have anything that he's actually punching to
07:00draw blood like this it's not his blood is the blood of the beef the hands look
07:05very similar in fact I think actually to the same hands that he has on the ends
07:07of his forearms but again like all the figures seem to have these hands no
07:10matter which version of rocky you end up getting by the way though the
07:14bandages they do actually look like they're real bandages but they're
07:17actually just sculpted plastic I mean I think they've been painted really well
07:20and blood is always something that's can either be done right or wrong in this
07:24case I do think that the blood looks quite realistic in color and a good
07:27saturation of that as well on the ends of the wraps the figure does also come
07:31in clear with a pair of relaxed hands similarly bandaged as well you can one
07:36little touch to detail I think I really I kind of say is really like the really
07:39well done like when companies go to like bandage a figure I mean it's so
07:43easy they could just easily wrap it up paint it all in white and call it a day
07:46but you can actually see there's some discoloration areas here and especially
07:50on the insides the palms rocky may have his fingers closed for example so
07:53between the sweat of his hands probably settling on the fabric obviously the
07:58wraps themselves would get the developed dirtiness over time so I do really like
08:01the fact that they've added those things finally though the figure does also come
08:05in clue with sparring hands or practicing hands I mean basically when
08:08the figure is kind of pose I haven't displayed like that in the beginning of
08:11this review having his arm sort of up like this you can see like his fingers
08:14are a little bit more bent he's kind of on the ready and he's sparring and
08:17practicing for his big bout with Apollo all these hands by the way again could
08:21be so easily swapped out just hold on to the forearm here for Rocky unpeg the
08:25hand that you want to then use or not want to use I suppose take the new hand
08:29that you want to use and just plug it onto the peg super easy no issues
08:33whatsoever swapping up the hands the pegs were at least a large enough size
08:36that didn't have to worry at all that they were gonna be breaking those are
08:39basically all the accessories though for underdog and I think when we did look at
08:42Lone Shark Collector Rocky had a whole lot more of a tally count for his stuff
08:46but I don't think he really necessarily needs a whole lot anyways this is Rocky
08:49kind of in the earlier days when he's training for his big bouts and really
08:52again like it's a to see already I hope you've got guys have had the chance to
08:57look at my Lone Shark Collector Rocky I mean I praised so well at that looked
09:00uncanny an uncanny likeness to Rocky Balboa and of course Sylvester Stallone
09:05who made the role so famous I mean I would say the same thing really here for
09:09Rocky as well for the underdog release there's not a point where I could spin
09:13this figure around and tell you I don't know I don't think it looks at all like
09:16Rocky from all the sides from all the angles even in under certain lighting
09:20there's nothing at all I would have changed the head sculpt here now the
09:23figure does have a beanie but the beanie is not removable when we did also look
09:27at the Lone Shark Collector release of Rocky he had two alternate I think he
09:30had a couple of alternate head sculpts one did have the fedora and the fedora
09:33was also not removable the beanie works the same way you can't take it off but
09:36it is though made of real fabric does also have himself these sweats so of
09:41course the top also has the hood I guess theoretically you could put the hood
09:44over top of his head if that's what you really want to go with prefer I would
09:48prefer myself really just to have hood down if you actually spin around the
09:51back of the figure I really love also that they dirty up this this isn't
09:55supposed to look clean Rocky's not really one for cleanliness and obviously
09:58when he's training as well his main focus his main drive is the practice for
10:02the big fight he's not so worried about necessarily laundry so again you've got
10:05some really nice dirt settled here on the front of it if we spin it around to
10:09one thing I really like is that they added Italian stallion on the back he's
10:12a very muscular bill to a unique body for the Sylvester Stallone line of six
10:17scale figures this body is only unique to that line alone of course in this
10:21case he does have longer sleeves so you would have a shorter sleeve and then
10:24long sleeves underneath we've already looked at obviously the hands here and
10:27he's got the tied up sweatpants down below here now I have one issue with the
10:31sweatpants the sweatpants they have added like little wear areas there
10:35because these are this is an outfit Rocky's had for a while it isn't so much
10:39the issue here but you can kind of see low where the fabric is starting to kind
10:43of wear away it's here is over here on his leg as well these aren't so much the
10:47issues my only one real issue I have with the figure has to unfortunately
10:51mean that we look at the crotch of Rocky he's got where marks right here as well
10:55which I think is accurate to the movie it's fine to have that on the fabric the
10:59problem with it though is if you go to start to split the legs on Rocky it's a
11:03one area that you wouldn't want to have a wear mark where the fabric is getting
11:07that starting to develop thinness because as you split the legs out that's
11:10gonna stretch the fabric here and these holes will start to develop larger
11:15holes over time so I'd recommend if you're picking this figure up for
11:18yourself don't start going exaggerating and start to split the legs on Rocky
11:22because I would imagine though these holes will start to develop larger holes
11:25and before you know it the front of Rocky's trunks are gonna split right
11:29open the back of the trunks aren't so bad at all I don't have really any
11:32issues there it's only really that front section so I'm gonna try cautiously when
11:36it comes to the articulation of the figure if not for that everything else
11:39on Rocky comes together so nicely here the one notable thing as well for Rocky
11:43is the fact he also does have himself true Converse shoes officially licensed
11:47Converse shoes so that the most realistic thing you're gonna get without
11:50having the real one-to-one scale in front of you down to the fact in fact you
11:54can actually see there's the Converse logo there on the side it's got the air
11:57holes it's got the treads underneath I mean I can't think of anything that
12:00we've seen of at least a six scale size that have had Converse this close
12:04because of course this is now officially licensed so for the figures articulation
12:08if you're familiar with the Lone Shark you're pretty much gonna be familiar as
12:11well with the underdog release of Rocky that's gonna be in our balls right so
12:14the heads gonna rotate on its own all the way around it's gonna look up it's
12:17gonna look down yeah yeah it's gonna also move back and forth as well the
12:21head also does seem like there's a secondary ball joint at the base and
12:24neck it does look like it does move independently on its own the upper
12:27torso is gonna be on a ball joint the lower waist seems also the same as well
12:31these arms easily rotate forward and back they also hinge out at full T pose
12:36no issues there there's a swivel at the bicep there what seems to be a double
12:39hinge on the elbow and yeah the hands do rotate all the way around the only part
12:43again I'm gonna tread cautiously with is this area right here yes the legs do
12:48move forward yes they also do move back splitting though the legs is one thing
12:52I'm probably gonna say it's not really a good idea yes sure the legs do swivel
12:56there at the top of the thigh they do have yes the double hinges on the knees
12:59and yeah even there's articulation in the sneakers down to the fact that they
13:03actually did have real laces on these nothing is sculpted on the on the laces
13:06actually really the Converse shoes themselves feel like they're made of
13:10real fabric nothing got spared at all when it comes to this guy I mean from
13:15head to toe top to bottom Rocky looks as accurate as he does from the original
13:18film the thing I really like about this rocky though is if you really kind of
13:22want the montage rocky this is the best one to go with I mean obviously your
13:26choice with which rocky you'd want to go I mean you can go with again like the
13:29basic regular release of rocky I think that one's gonna go for $386 the one
13:35that we're looking at obviously in this review that does come with the
13:37Philadelphia stairwell just gonna move rocky here out of the way would be
13:41really the one I would recommend if you're looking get your hands on one of
13:43the underdog Rockies I would probably say go with the underdog release the
13:47deluxe version just because again you get the iconic stairwell scene and
13:51that's gonna go for $429 but again if you do want to go with the ultimate not
13:55that I want to push it in that direction at all the ultimate is gonna have yeah
13:58it's still gonna have the rocket still gonna have the same hands it's gonna
14:00have the stairwell but it's also gonna have the slab of beef the slab of beef
14:03the only reason I would probably say if you want to get that again if you're a
14:06big die-hard fan of rocky Balboa and you want to have like the the most iconic
14:10thing about rocky then you can get the one that does have the stairs then you
14:14have the slab of beef it does also probably also justify maybe why you
14:17would want it have then these hands on the figures forearms because of course
14:21then you'd be punching beef instead of punching air as a whole though it's a
14:24great-looking figure this one again is slated to drop in April 2025 I can
14:28certainly provide links down below in the video description if you guys are
14:31interested head over to Slice Salon shop not only get your hands on the underdog
14:34but if you still available also get the loan shark collector release of rocky
14:37that we've looked at in an earlier review it's actually ironic that I
14:41decided to leave the Philadelphia stairwell off for the final looks of
14:44underdog rocky because one thing I forgot to actually mention in this
14:47review too is that rocky is magnetically attached to the stairs so if you want to
14:52have the figure poised on top of the stairwell in that iconic scene where
14:55he's finally succeeded and reached his goal he actually does attach to the
14:59stairwell in all the three steps so you know at least even though he doesn't
15:03gonna he's not gonna have the regular oval shape stand that the basic release
15:06of rocky is gonna have he still attaches securely though to the stairs now I've
15:10got him in again that famous pose where he's got his arms up he's completed the
15:14thing he needed to complete sort of again the progress of what his training
15:17was from start to finish for me ideally though between the two Rockies that we
15:21looked at both this one and the loan shark collector personally for me I think
15:25the underdog is my favorite of the two well though I think the loan shark
15:28collector had a lot more for it he also did come in clear with the dog if you
15:31want the deluxe route there's something to be said though about the rocky look
15:35of him having his sweats on and training during that montage it's such a famous
15:40montage everybody does I mean even when you visit Philadelphia how many people
15:44end up going to that stairwell to run up the top of the stairs and and then jump
15:48for joy in victory at the very top of it now again with this one though all the
15:52Rockies are slated to drop in April 2025 I think they actually will be shipping
15:56in late April 2025 so there is still a chance if you guys would like to get
16:00your hands on it the prices I know we've already kind of discussed range from 386
16:05for the basic release the standard edition of rocky and then they go all
16:08the way up to 574 if you're looking to get the ultimate that's gonna have the
16:11slab of beef the only thing that's making it missing is Mickey now with all
16:15of these so far at least what we've seen two versions of rocky both the underdog
16:19and then the earlier looked at loan shark collector no denying at all that
16:23the likeness is there for Sylvester Stallone in this case though the one
16:27thing the only thing I would say that is a worry to me is just how accurate
16:30they've made the sweats to the point where he's got the holes there on the
16:34front of his outfit unfortunately though that does limit some of the
16:37articulation not that you're gonna be giving this guy a splits but I wouldn't
16:40recommend trying that either just with the way that the where the material has
16:44already started to wear away on the front like that splitting the legs for
16:48extended periods of time or even to the extreme may result in the fabric
16:52splitting if you keep him right at a museum pose I mean you can still move
16:56his legs forward and back you can so still easily bend his knees and move his
16:59ankles you're not gonna have any issues there I would resist though me any ideas
17:03of splitting his legs outside of that though a fantastic figure if you're fan
17:08of rocky the original or the rest of the film franchise you may want to get your
17:12hands on this one a big thank you again to the folks over at sliced alone shop
17:15and as well caustic plastic that did provide this sample of the new rocky
17:19deluxe legacy edition this was the rocky legacy collection deluxe edition this
17:23was the underdog rocky what do you guys think of this figure let me know down
17:27below in the comment section between this one and the loan shark collector
17:30which do you think was the better rocky release Emil down below you can also let
17:34me know what your favorite rocky movie is it doesn't have to necessarily be
17:37rocky for we can still be friends rocky for is still my favorite if it isn't your
17:41favorite let me know which one is down below if you guys also did enjoy this
17:45video do it as long throw to like you guys want stick around for more so I
