New York Auto Show celebrates its 125th year  The New York International Auto Show, North America's oldest automotive exhibition, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.  The 2025 New York International Auto Show opens to the public at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on Friday, April 18, and runs through April 27. 00:00It's the 125th anniversary of the New York International Auto Show.

00:11The New York Auto Show really got things started for the auto industry back in 1900 at the old

00:19Madison Square Garden. We had 69 different vehicle manufacturers represented in that first show,

00:27which is more manufacturers than we actually have today.

00:31But since the beginning of that time back in November of 1900, set off this kind of annual exhibition of motor vehicles.

00:42First motor vehicles were steam, they were electric, and they were gas.

00:48So obviously gas prevailed for decades and decades and decades on it.

00:55But it's interesting to see where the genesis of the industry came about.

00:59Most of the manufacturing was also right here in the New York area.

01:05Queens, Brooklyn, Connecticut is really where the industry really got its start.

01:12But when it comes to the show, it's just continued to grow over the years.

01:16And now we hold a million square feet of space, hundreds of new cars that are displayed.

01:24And we're expecting hundreds of thousands of people that come through the show to take a look at all the new product that's available

01:30and start thinking about the next car purchase.

01:34Electrification is still somewhat new or connectivity, self-driving.

01:41Obviously, there's lots of things that are going on.

01:44But the show has just about something for everybody.

01:49And that's the beauty of the show.

01:51If you're into hyper cars or sports cars, performance vehicles, you know, that's there.

01:58If you're looking for SUVs, family fun vehicles, I think the auto industry has really gone about taking a look at the customer base that's out there

02:09and really has evolved into offering products that everybody's looking for.
