00:00If loving your kids is lame, then I guess I'm just a big lame.
00:04Here's your look at the Jack Specific. This is The Simpsons, Marge and Maggie Simpson.
00:20Collect your favorite cartoon characters from The Simpsons TV series
00:23with the newest wave of The Simpsons 5-inch scale figures featuring basic articulation.
00:28These iconic characters from The Simpsons are sure to please cartoon lovers and collectors alike.
00:32We may have started with one, but now we're finishing with five.
00:34And in a short amount of time, I will say as well,
00:37before we get a closer look at the Jack Specific, Marge and Maggie Simpson,
00:40taking, of course, the tape measure, and let's figure out how tall the figures stand.
00:43With the short amount of time, when you think of how long Jack's has actually had this license,
00:47we can now finally say we have the entire Simpsons clan.
00:50When the previous company, we're going to spend a whole lot of time talking about that other previous company,
00:55but when the other figure company had The Simpsons license,
00:58they felt the need to do a whole lot of deep-cut characters,
01:00when in the end, the collectors really just wanted The Simpsons family.
01:03As promised, though, the tape measure is going to tell us that Marge is standing pretty tall,
01:07and a lot of that really has to do with her hair.
01:08She's in fact about six inches in height, or about 15 centimeters tall.
01:12Then to the smallest member of the Simpsons clan, Maggie Simpson,
01:15she's only going to be about two inches in height, or about five centimeters tall.
01:19Now, it pleases me to say, let's bring in all the other Simpsons figures that we've gotten from Jack's.
01:24Here's what Marge and Maggie Simpson obviously look like with Homer Simpson.
01:27Here's Lisa Simpson, and off to the side here, here's Bart Simpson.
01:31Let's maybe move Maggie over just a little bit.
01:34We're done.
01:35I mean, obviously, we're going to be collecting a whole lot,
01:37I'm going to be collecting a whole lot more Simpsons figures from Jack's,
01:39but the fact that we can take a snapshot of this,
01:42and say that we can at least complete it to family members,
01:46that's something, and that's something to be saying as an impressive feat for Jack's Pacific,
01:50with, again, the very short amount of time that the company's had this license.
01:54Bringing in just a couple of other characters,
01:55we don't need to bog down this entire review space by bringing in every character we've gotten so far,
02:00but at least on either side, here's what the figures also look like with Mo,
02:03and, of course, here's also what they look like with Milhouse,
02:05who happen to also be part of this exact same wave, along with Homer and Lenny.
02:09My guess is, because Marge and Maggie Simpson were packed together,
02:11that means, unfortunately, that these figures don't come in clear with any other accessories.
02:15Maybe, in fact, we could look at one of the accessories,
02:17I guess the only accessory, if you would consider Maggie to be an accessory.
02:21Maggie Simpson looks good.
02:23I like the look of her quite a bit.
02:24And, actually, I was surprised to see that the figure does have some decent levels of possibility.
02:28Of course, she does have the soother in her mouth.
02:30Spoken only just a few lines, one of which being done by Elizabeth Taylor.
02:35She looks good.
02:35I mean, again, no issues whatsoever.
02:38We did, technically, did we, I think we did get a Maggie Simpson from that other figure company,
02:42but they felt, again, to need to give her an attachment to Kang and Kodos.
02:47Obviously, the sound that she would be making here.
02:49She does have some decent levels of possibility.
02:50It's not just a case that they gave her a staction figure, Marge, that is, and just called it Maggie.
02:54No, the figure does have some decent levels to it.
02:57Obviously, she's flat on the bottom, but she does have a peg here,
03:00so if you did want to make use of still a display stand.
03:02And I don't really feel a need to say that Maggie Simpson does need a display stand,
03:06because the bottom of her nightgown is flat enough.
03:08She's fine just to drag herself on the ground.
03:10The only thing I will say, though, about Maggie Simpson is the sizing of her.
03:14I feel like maybe she's a little too big when you compare her along with Marge.
03:17On her own, though, like if you were to, say, put her next to Elisa Simpson,
03:20maybe they're about the same size, or I guess, you know, size-wise,
03:25I think they're pretty good to the cartoon.
03:27But I feel like if you're displaying her with Marge,
03:30I think that's where something seems off.
03:32Either Marge doesn't seem tall enough, or Maggie seems too big.
03:36One thing that you can also do as well is that you can take Maggie Simpson,
03:39and you can put her obviously in Marge's arms.
03:41I say obviously like you guess maybe, well, maybe you didn't know that.
03:44You can take her in her arms, and she holds her pretty well.
03:48Excuse me.
03:48So, holds her pretty well, but to look at her like this,
03:52it just seems to me like the proportions of her figure,
03:54it's kind of like Milhouse's bike,
03:56where Milhouse's bike was way too small for the character.
03:59I feel like maybe, like maybe Marge and maybe Maggie,
04:02the proportions, something seems off between the two of them.
04:05Either Marge needs to be a little bit taller,
04:06or Maggie needs to be a little smaller.
04:08Maybe a little bit shorter is the thing that's throwing her off for me.
04:11Again, for the posability on Maggie before we get down to Marge,
04:15get her just to stand here for a second.
04:17Marge, by the way, does have very small feet,
04:20which does contribute, of course, to the character having some stability issues.
04:24But again, like Maggie, she has no issues whatsoever.
04:26For Maggie's articulation, her head's only going to rotate all the way around.
04:29There's no ball joint or anything at all.
04:30However, though, she does have a ball joint from this part of her body to this part of her body.
04:35It does allow for free movement there.
04:37The arms do hinge out also,
04:38so you can take the figure and rotate them forward and back, in and out.
04:41Because she doesn't have, no, she has no hand articulation.
04:45But like one, two, three, four, four levels of possibility for a little baby Simpson like this.
04:50Not bad.
04:50Not bad at all.
04:51Maggie looks good.
04:52She fits the part.
04:53Although, again, I do maybe feel like maybe she's a little too big when you compare her along with Marge.
04:58Marge, finally to able to say this, does look fantastic, though.
05:01So, you know, one thing that's kind of interesting, though, is if you look at the sculpting of her hair,
05:05and it's kind of more if you look at it from this side than maybe when you look at straight on.
05:09Yes, she does also look like a blueberry or blackberry.
05:12But when to look at her from this side, there's a line right here where you swear there's articulation in her hair.
05:18At least I thought that right away.
05:19But there isn't.
05:20It's just the way that it's been sculpted.
05:21It looks like there's just a very sharp line cutting through her hair.
05:24Head sculpt, again, looks the part.
05:26It looks very much like Marge.
05:28I think probably we're getting several versions of Marge.
05:31Now, I did say earlier, though, that Homer is part of this wave as well.
05:34It's birthday.
05:35It's baseball Homer.
05:37So he's going to be coming included, like, inside.
05:39Obviously, he's going to be wearing his baseball outfit.
05:41He's going to come included also with a cap and his bat.
05:43I would hope that maybe down the road we're going to be also getting, of course, Batty and Selma.
05:47I would imagine those would be staples.
05:49I mean, obviously pretty high in the list, even though we haven't gotten them yet.
05:52Batty and Selma would be welcomed additions to the, obviously, the Simpsons figures that we've gotten so far.
05:57Yeah, like, I don't have any issues with Marge other than just, like, the size feels off when you compare along with Maggie.
06:03I've also noticed, too, that her head doesn't quite seem to want to stay on her head or on her shoulders.
06:08It keeps seeming to want to have this little area here where it looks like the head almost wants to be cut right off.
06:15I mean, the head itself stays on well enough, but it just unfortunately leaves this gap space.
06:20I can't say a lot of it has really to do with the fact her hair is so heavy, because I don't think that that's the issue at all.
06:25It just seems like her head doesn't seem molded clearly.
06:29Well, it doesn't seem like it's close enough to the rest of her body.
06:31The dress looks good.
06:32She has a slit on the side that's not really going to be giving her any more levels of possibility.
06:36I mean, you could split the legs, but with her feet being so small like this, it's still going to cause a conflict.
06:42Now, clearly, obviously, she does have holes on the bombs of her feet as well.
06:45If you happen to have a display stand, just using a display stand.
06:48We have one right here.
06:50Let's grab ourselves the ever-trusty go-to display stands from McFarlane Toys.
06:54Get yourself Marge.
06:55Marge does barely attach onto display stands.
06:58I mean, really, to give holes like this on the bombs of the figure's feet would be nice if Jack's Pacific could have included display stands.
07:04Just little small ones that maybe even set Simpsons on top.
07:06Am I asking for too much?
07:07Maybe I am.
07:08The fact that we're even just having this discussion back and forth and that we're looking at two, well, a set of two, that now at least completes the final four and five figures.
07:17For the figure's articulation, here we go.
07:19Like, Marge does allow for a head rotation.
07:21At least the peg allows for head rotation.
07:24But again, like, to look at this, it just looks like her head's been decapitated from the rest of her body.
07:29The arms easily come out at 90 degrees.
07:31No issues there.
07:31You can take the arms and rotate them all the way around.
07:33Even though the limbs are a little leaner, they rotate all fine, still fine and good.
07:37You can obviously bend the elbow area.
07:39The elbow allows for a little bit of swivel there.
07:42But there's also a cut right here in her bicep that does the job as well.
07:45So you can swivel it all the way around.
07:47Hands rotate also all the way around.
07:49You can not really hinge them back and forth, but there is a little bit of a hinge right there.
07:53Can you see?
07:54Can you see?
07:55Can you see?
07:56Right there.
07:57So you can hinge the hand back and forth.
07:58So she does have a waist swivel, even though kind of looking at it, it looks like it's all just like one dress.
08:03But no, there's a cut right there.
08:04The legs, in theory, do split out because she has the splits on the sides.
08:08But again, to split her legs like this, it's only going to cause more problems than anything else just to have her stand properly.
08:14Because again, she has such small feet.
08:16Those feet, by the way, do move up and down.
08:18There's a little bit of an ankle rocker.
08:19But Marge, probably of all the figures, I think her and Lisa seem to be the ones that have the hardest times to stand.
08:26But again, like, to have now finally Marge and Maggie, even though, again, like, I feel like Maggie is maybe a little too big.
08:33Especially when you compare her, like, with Marge, or with Homer, with Marge, with Bart, obviously, over here as well.
08:39And Lisa, the only other figure that I noticed had more of a balancing issue.
08:42To, yeah, to finally have the Simpsons clan completes, is one successful goal we can say that Jax has checked off on their list of things we need to do.
08:52We don't need to go to deep cut characters.
08:53We don't need to have characters that had only appeared in one episode.
08:56In the end, in the very little waves of figures that they've done so far, at the very least, this is what Jax was probably thinking to themselves,
09:03we need to complete the Simpsons family.
09:06And they have.
09:07And they've done a nice job on all the figures.
09:09They have still the levels of possibility.
09:10Now, again, when you look at the Simpsons figures of what Jax has been doing,
09:14they have the larger 5-inch, 5-6-inch scale figures.
09:16And then, of course, they have the little 2.5 or 2.5-inch scale figures.
09:21They seem to still be an issue that...
09:22The only issue I really noticed with Jax, and I've said this in other reviews as well,
09:26having only unique characters for specific lines, like we have a comic book guy.
09:30But comic book guy is only available, as far as I know, in the 2.5-inch scale,
09:34other than maybe just making them available in all the size classes.
09:37Or, again, I might be biased by saying this.
09:39Having them at least more available in the 6-7-inch scale would be better suited,
09:44at least for my collection.
09:45I know some collectors really still like the 2.5-inch scale, and that's fine if that's the way
09:49you like to collect those Simpsons.
09:50Because, again, obviously, those are also going to be coming and include...
09:53There's a Krusty Burger set.
09:55There's the Simpsons Family House as well.
09:57Those are all very dedicated to the much smaller scale figures.
10:00That might be the kind of collection of Simpsons that you like to collect.
10:03I like the larger scale myself.
10:05I mean, granted, unfortunately, though, Marge and Maggie don't have any other accessories.
10:09But to consider the fact that we finally can say we've finished the family,
10:13I'm glad we finally got ourselves figures.
10:15Even though, again, I feel like Maggie is maybe a little too big when you compare her with the others.
10:20Even though this is really the first time we've gotten a Marge and Maggie of this scale,
10:23it isn't, though, the first time that Jack Specific has released the two characters.
10:27Right now, in fact, and for a while, I think last year,
10:30they released an entire Simpsons Family box set of the 2.5-inch scale.
10:34So you could still have gotten yourself a Marge and Maggie back then.
10:37For me, though, I still wasn't all that interested.
10:39I collected only just a few of the 2.5-inch scale Simpsons.
10:42If I was to dedicate my budget, which I'm now doing moving forward,
10:46I think more invested I am to get the larger 6- to 7-inch scale.
10:50Because, again, they'll look better on my shelf.
10:52I'm not all that interested in having the diorama sets,
10:55even though the Krusty Burger restaurant kind of looks tempting.
10:57Oh, I don't know if I want to be investing in getting in that.
11:00But, like, for me, to get the 6-inch or the 5- to 6-inch scale figures,
11:05that's, for me, where I want to be collecting the Simpsons primarily.
11:07So now I can finally say getting a Marge and Maggie is a welcome treat,
11:12being that I've already collected the Marge, the Lisa, and the Bart.
11:15We've gotten two versions of Bart.
11:17I think it's, well, now that we've also gotten ourselves Baseball Homer,
11:20I don't think we're going to be getting any other versions of Marge.
11:23We'll be getting, like, Police Officer Marge.
11:25Hey, that might be fun.
11:26If we get Police Officer Marge, or maybe get, like, Halloween treatment characters,
11:30where some of the characters are dressed up like in Treehouse of Horror.
11:33That would be certainly fun as well, which is Coven.
11:36Marge does certainly come to my mind as well.
11:37Maybe we might get a version of her.
11:39I don't want to speak too soon, though.
11:40I mean, you have to really credit, though, the team at Jack's Pacific
11:43for what they've done with the Simpsons license.
11:46If you've been certainly discouraged, I mean, obviously, with what we got with Super 7,
11:50Super 7 did a fine job for what they got with accessories.
11:53There was a lot of deep-cut characters and deep-cut character accessories.
11:57But in the end, though, all I really wanted was the Simpsons family
12:00to go in and basically be able to say, like, what I've collected from Super 7,
12:04I could say, okay, I've got all the five members of the Simpsons family.
12:08If I decided I wanted to drop off collecting then, I could say at least I had that collection.
12:12But that wasn't the case.
12:13And obviously, the case meant, obviously, that Super 7 lost the licensing for one reason or another.
12:20Jax has picked it up.
12:21And since Jax has been picking it up, I think they've really stepped it up
12:24when it comes to what we're getting for Simpsons figures,
12:27even, again, in the smaller or the larger scale.
12:29What do you guys think of Marge and Maggie?
12:30First of all, do you kind of think that Marge is maybe either too small for Maggie
12:34or maybe too big for her britches?
12:35Let me know down below in the comments section.
12:37But also, if you guys have been faithfully collecting the Jax-specific line,
12:40and of the two size classes, which have you been dedicated to collecting more?
12:45If you guys also did enjoy this video, you can do it as well and throw it a like.
12:48You guys want to stick around for more so?
12:50I hope so.
12:51Hit that subscribe, turn on that bell, and of course come back.
12:53As always, thanks for watching.
12:55See you guys next time.
