00:00You are already giving me grief right now on the red carpet at the ACMs.
00:03I'm telling you, this is like, I can do any game except Jenga.
00:06We're good to go.
00:07I think we have to give it, and here's the fun thing about this.
00:11No, no, no, no.
00:11I just need you to choose one.
00:13Oh, so I'm just starting.
00:14Yes.
00:15And then the last person you interview is really going to struggle.
00:17That's how this goes?
00:18Absolutely.
00:18Okay.
00:18You might also struggle because whatever you choose has a question attached to it that
00:23you're going to have to answer.
00:24So we're playing Jenga here on the red carpet at the ACMs.
00:27What if I do good, like, very first?
00:29Okay.
00:30Do you believe in ghosts?
00:33Hmm.
00:36How do you even answer this?
00:38We could be here for an hour talking about this.
00:42Why and why not?
00:44I don't know that I call them ghosts.
00:45I would say I believe in spirit realm.
00:47Okay.
00:48For sure.
00:48Have you ever seen one?
00:50Probably.
00:51Yeah?
00:52Yeah.
00:52Okay.
00:52That I probably played off as a dream, but probably so.
00:55Yeah.
00:55Yeah.
00:56Anyone significant?
00:57No.
00:58No.
00:59Uh, more like angel, angel demon thing.
01:04Does that make sense?
01:05Yeah.
01:05I think that's sort of what I believe.
01:06Okay.
01:06Okay.
01:07I wouldn't call them ghosts, so I would call them angel or demon.
01:08Okay.
01:09So not necessarily specific people coming to visit you.
01:11No.
01:12Uh-uh.
01:12Okay.
01:12Uh-uh.
01:12All right.
01:13I got that.
01:13God, we just went into the deep end.
01:16Okay.
01:16You didn't place it, though.
01:17Oh, I'm sorry.
01:17Remember, you have to place it.
01:18I'm sorry.
01:18There we go.
01:19For sure.
01:19Okay.
01:20Beautiful is you.
01:21We love this song.
01:21Thank you so much.
01:22Oh, my gosh.
01:22It's so good.
01:24And it's like back to poppy for you.
01:26Yeah.
01:26This whole record for me was sort of a, not a blast from the past, but just sort of kind
01:31of, I don't know, put my blinders on.
01:34Okay.
01:35And it was just like, what makes me smile and what makes my kids want to dance in the back
01:39seat?
01:39You know what I'm saying?
01:40And that was kind of, that was kind of my goal for this tune and a bunch of this record
01:43and had a blast making it.
01:44So, yeah.
01:45I love it.
01:45And your children, how are they doing?
01:48I know they're getting older.
01:50Is life getting easier or is it getting more complicated right now?
01:52It's both.
01:54Yeah.
01:54Yeah.
01:55Easier in the, in the sense that we have, you know, less young, young kids, but harder
01:59in the fact that like, you know, real life is happening.
02:01So, yeah.
02:03So Jeff, my partner, Jeff Kirchner has a little baby.
02:06And, um, and I was telling him that like, I don't know that life gets easier.
02:09You just get more used to not really having any time for yourself.
02:12A hundred percent.
02:13Yeah.
02:13And you get more used to that balance, that dance, that juggle, whatever it is.
02:19Yeah.
02:19Yeah.
02:20Me and Lauren have gotten to travel quite a bit this year.
02:21And I think that's the balance of just like making sure that you get that one-on-one
02:25time with each other.
02:26Um, and also like with the kids, I think it's important to, you know, make sure you get
02:30one-on-one time with them.
02:31Cause with as many kids as we have, it's like everybody's fighting for their own attention.
02:34And me and Lauren are fighting for our own bits of being able to give it.
02:38So, you know, once a month I try to bring just one individual, one of them on a date
02:41and we'll go get pizza and see a movie or whatever.
02:44But that one-on-one time is crucial.
02:46You're a good dad.
02:46Try to be.
02:47And a great artist.
02:48And we're so grateful to have you.
02:49Thomas Rock.
02:50Hey, thanks so much.
03:05Bye.
