00:00what's up guys it's doo-doo poker here back for another video i just played this hand today and
00:10i wanted to make a video on it because i think it illustrates a lot of important concepts so
00:17i have threes i'm on the button cut off folds i raise small blind three bets pre-flops mixed
00:25do whatever you want i prefer calling because i think we have an edge post-flop but something
00:31interesting happens on the flop ace queen 10 two-tone okay our opponent decides to check
00:39now what we have to realize here is we are immediately not in a gto line because if you
00:47look at a solver a solver is ranging here okay small mostly and then one third and uh half pot
00:58at some frequency but the important point to know is that we have to realize that our opponent does
01:05not understand this spot okay so what does it mean when an opponent range or when an opponent checks
01:14in a range bet spot because this happens sometimes well we have to think okay
01:21let's go over mda first of all okay let's look at what check fold frequencies are
01:29in mda should we bet this flop okay this is check fold frequencies for regs as at a position three
01:40bet pot pfr they're over folding by a bit okay but remember we have two different profiles in our mda
01:50we have a fish profile and a reg profile now in reality people are both fish and regs tendency wise
02:01i'm saying people do not neatly fit into the archetype of reg and fish or at least they don't always
02:08and this is one of those times okay so we know that regs over fold versus a stab okay but look at fish
02:20fish under fold by a lot and they also over check raise relative to regs
02:30fish are only folding 15 percent why is this why do fish call so much more and regs call so much less
02:40because you have to think of what the fundamental tendency of a fish is the fundamental tendency of a fish
02:48is to slow play okay fish are overly tricky regs understand this spot and they would range bet
02:57but fish but fish by our definition would check more than bet because they're trying to slow play
03:07so what does that mean that means even though our opponent has reg pre-flop stats let's go to his
03:20one one saw flop his one one saw flop is 40 okay now we can use the hud calculator to see so 40 is very
03:32very low for a woman saw flop for a reg okay so let's go to the hud calculator let's say an average
03:40reg has a 48 woman saw flop okay that's like what an average reg has so let's go it's 89 out of 219 samples
03:49okay so let's go here so 219 samples right his was 40 we'll say it's 40 actually we know you know what
03:59i'll give him a bad for the doubt we'll say 41 okay 219 samples now what are the odds that his true
04:07one one one saw flop is 48 or greater
04:121.9 percent 1.9 are the odds so it's very very likely he's a weak reg now the even though fish
04:26and regs so by by all accounts this player is a reg right but something happens when he decides to check
04:33the flop we know he doesn't understand the spot because if he did he would range right so now he
04:39has fish post-flop tendencies in this spot which means we should not stab with our air okay that's
04:48the first thing so if you're against a fish what um you never stab as the three bet pot in position
04:55pre-flop caller with your air because they fold only 15 of the time and they
05:01check raise more than uh regs okay so the first thing to note you never stab your air against a fish
05:11as the three bet pot in position pre-flop caller number two just because someone
05:16has pre-flop reg stats does not mean they have post-flop reg tendencies the lower their woman soft
05:23flop the more they play like a fish okay so we should not stab here that's concept number one okay
05:31let's go to so i decide to check back flop because of this reason okay so now turn i pick up a set
05:41okay my opponent bets now we have to think about his range here we know fish like to slow play so i'm
05:50going to tag him as a fish post-flop but a reg pre-flop right
05:53so do i beat value here well if he has aces queens or tens i'm pretty much dead he could have king
06:02jack and he might have ace queen so i can technically beat some value right and if he has king jack i'm
06:10going to stack him on a paired river so i always have to call turn here okay remember you can't look
06:16in the solver for this line because the solver ranges flop so we're going to call turn and now
06:23the river comes in eight of diamonds and he jams now you have to understand
06:31in a line where your opponent does not range flop like he should but then he decides to get aggressive
06:42on the turn of the river do you think it's harder to find value or harder to find bluffs it's always
06:48harder to find bluffs in every line that's why mda teaches us this that's why almost every line
06:54is under bluffed in three bad pots right not every line but almost every line and the lower the woman
07:02saw flop the less bluffs he has okay so let's go to equilab and i'm going to put in a range
07:10and we're going to see if you think i should call okay so he's betting i'm getting 1.1 to 1 right so
07:21i have to be good a little um worse than two to one odds so two to one would be 33 percent
07:31so i have to be good you know like 34 35 percent all right let's get the calculator
07:38one divided by 2.9
07:44is 34 of the time okay so let's put in a range
07:49in equilab i put in a range here aces queens tens maybe ace queen suited king jack suited and then
07:56the flush some flush draws okay now you see here we're only good 26 of the time you have to be good
08:0234 of the time so we should fold river here okay i made a mistake on the sand i called river
08:10but i realized after that i should have folded but it's very important to understand
08:17two things okay number one if you're against a fish you never stab flop
08:23when they check to you that's number one number two in a range bet spot so we have to know theory
08:29here we have to realize that theory always ranges if your opponent checks he is very likely going to
08:35have fish post-flop tendencies even though he has reg pre-flop stats okay so we never stab flop
08:42number two is we should over fold turn and rivers now we realize that once he gets aggressive on the
08:51turn in the river even though we have a strong absolute value hand our hand is not good versus
08:55range so we should fold i made a mistake here and called and he had queens but the important point
09:02is is to always look at the one one soft flop and to realize that just because an opponent has
09:09pre-flop reg stats does not mean they have post-flop reg tendencies this guy's tendencies are closer to
09:15a fish meaning when he checks one you don't stab two you want to over fold versus aggression
09:26all right that was a lot to take in but i hope you guys learned something
09:29and i appreciate you checking out the video and i will see you in the next one
