00:00all right guys this is part two of what does it mean when they check in a range bet spot
00:13okay so our opponent is supposed to c-bet and he doesn't
00:21so we can't rely on solvers for these spots right sometimes people play unpredictable
00:29so we have to think how can we analyze a hand if it has no basis in theory so we have to think
00:40differently here okay so the first thing is this guy is very likely a reg from his pre-flop stats
00:50right because he only has a six percent gap between bpip and pfr because he used proper sizing
00:58at least around what he should do you know he has an 18 or 19 bb sizing for his four bet
01:08solver would go 20 but it's around it's close enough to reg sizings right but when he checks flop
01:15that immediately puts him in a different category now he's no longer a reg now he has fish flop
01:24tendencies so i misplayed the sand that's why i'm going over this concept in a video i misplayed
01:33the sand and i stabbed flop when i shouldn't have so let's look at regs for four bet pot at a position
01:45pre-flop razor check fold frequencies and also fish all right let's look at regs
01:50so this is going to be the field as the four bet pot at a position pre-flop razor no positions okay
02:00what you notice is regs slightly overfold okay but remember um once this person
02:11um checked flop in a range bet spot this immediately gave him fish tendencies okay because
02:21he doesn't understand the spot now i didn't understand the spot either that's another reason
02:26why i'm going over this in a video to help me as well as you guys okay so
02:30look at the check fold frequencies of fish they only fold less than nine percent of the time versus
02:41a 15 percent stab they fold 13 percent of the time to a 30 percent stab that's way under gto okay this is
02:50why you never stab air as the four bet pot in position pre-flop caller and you only stab hands that
03:00dominate value this is very important you only stab hands that dominate value okay does king queen
03:08dominate value no you lose to ace queen you lose to kings you lose to aces you lose to queens use the
03:15tens you're losing to even like a combo draw like king jack of diamonds okay so
03:21we should not stab flop here okay that's the first thing the second thing is the odds we're getting to call
03:31was about let's check the uh the hud here okay so here he four bet i called
03:41i incorrectly stabbed i was getting 1.5 to 1 or 1 divided by
03:492.5 so i need 40 equity to be good right let's do equilab
03:54if his range is queens plus ace queen and then some combo draws
03:59i only have 20 equity so i should definitely fold
04:03once i make the incorrect stab okay because you don't stab air and you don't stab hands
04:09that can lose to value okay so that's two important concepts
04:14so the problem is here is i incorrectly tagged him as a reg on the flop but when he doesn't range
04:26in a range bet spot that means he doesn't understand the spot which makes him more fishy
04:33the problem is is the fish love the slow play and now he has that same tendency
04:43so you'll see this in a bunch of spots when they check in a range bet spot you always have to be
04:50super careful okay so i did not understand this during this hand all right so second thing
04:57if he did bet like he was supposed to okay let's say he did bet like he was supposed to okay so here's
05:05the hand hijack opens i three bet with king queen of clubs he four bets which is standard he went 19
05:15and then you always call with king queen right it's just too big of a deviation to fold so we know this
05:21is a range bet okay so let's say he did a standard 25 bet right so king queen of clubs would always be
05:29called here right so we're always calling on the flop all right so on the turn when it comes to two
05:36of clubs let's say he bets um 50 okay this is like standard sizing for four bet pots okay so then you'd
05:44always call turn here you have to call flop and turn this is how i should have played it if he bet
05:49flop and now the river was a five of diamonds okay let's say he jams all right so this is a zero ev
05:58spot which means if it's a zero ev spot that means calling is zero ev and folding which is always zero ev
06:09are the same okay that's why it's mixed so don't worry about this minus whatever this is just a rounding
06:15error doesn't mean anything okay so what we have to do is we have to look if he did triple barrel here
06:24you have to go to mda okay let's do the mda this is reg four bet pot mda for out of position pfr versus
06:36in position now this is bet 30 bet 30 jam what you see is it's actually slightly over bluffed but then you
06:44have to go to river third to flush now it's under bluffed okay so we should fold on the river should
06:51fold on the river so if he triple barreled we fold okay but since he checked what i should have done
07:00is check back and then if he bet turn i should have called and if he jammed river i should have folded
07:08why should i have folded because check bet bet is also under bluffed well bet bet bet is actually
07:17over bluffed but in on the flush complete river it's under bluffed okay so my first mistake was
07:25stabbing flop because i uh tagged him as a rag when in fact he was a fish and then we know from fish
07:34tendencies they check fold only like eight to thirteen percent and they check raise too often
07:41okay so in the future in the future you would fold to the triple barrel on the flush complete river if
07:49the flush complete river didn't come you would call and you would fold to the check bet bet line
07:56because that's under bluffed all right so i know there's a lot to take in it's very complicated
08:00because you can't know this from a solver you can't fall back on theory this is not a theoretical
08:07hand people do not always play like theory theory is just a framework sometimes we have to operate
08:14outside the box of theory all right guys i hope you learned something because i sure did and um
08:22i will not be stabbing my king queen in the future
08:25and you know sometimes you learn and sometimes you get paid all right guys i'll see you in the next
08:32video take care
