A cat is discovered under a car hood during an oil change.

Pets can often find themselves in trouble.

Vehicle owner, Mike Kerkman decided to get a little maintenance done on his car while traveling to Norfolk, Nebraska.

He had been on the road for roughly 45 minutes. When mechanics opened up the hood, a furry little head poked up from the hole.

The creature turned out to be a very scared cat that had apparently gotten stuck in an opening.

An auto technician stated “He was scared. He was almost choking. His head was the only thing that could get through that hole.”

A veterinarian, who was called to assist, sedated the kitty. After an hour and a half, the cat was safely freed from the vehicle and given back to its owners.

Last year, a cat in the UK lived for five days in a car's engine compartment. The vehicle owner, a 37-year-old teacher spotted some fur sticking out from the grille of her vehicle.

After several unsuccessful attempts to free the feline, fire authorities were called to the scene and rescued the trapped cat. The kitty was later reunited with his owner.
