00:02:53This whole thing started in Lake Texoma, north Texas.
00:02:57We have a lake house up there.
00:03:01So we're there July 4th, big weekend.

00:03:09I figured they'd be here by now.
00:03:11Our family's big into the woods, big into outdoors.
00:03:14We love to fish, love to hunt.
00:03:20On one side of the lake there's houses.
00:03:22Everybody goes out, hang out at the boat dock.
00:03:25The family's there making sandwiches, making burgers.
00:03:28Kids are filling up water balloons, throwing them at each other,
00:03:31having a good time.
00:03:34But the other side of the bank, that's completely different.
00:03:42These woods, they go on forever.
00:03:47It's thousands of acres.
00:03:50I used to go in there at night, I'd go in there and walk around,
00:03:54and there's no trace of human sign.
00:03:58Loved the quietness, I loved hearing the coyotes,
00:04:01I loved just the serenity of it.

00:06:12You have these gallon jugs, they got string on them, you put these hooks on them,
00:06:17you bait them up and you go put them on the creek channel.

00:06:25And the good thing about when you go jugging, you can catch a large amount of fish.

00:15:47When that happens, you know you're dying.

00:15:53I knew that moment in those seconds.

00:15:58My kids, my wife, my mom and dad.
00:16:01You know it's going to happen.
00:16:04You know you're not getting out of there.

00:16:10I think I started saying,

00:16:18It's just running over us.
00:16:20I'm just praying that we make it out of this alive.
00:16:26Thank God, it just felt like we could finally move.

00:16:40That's when I started screaming,

00:16:56On the way back, everybody's in shock, obviously.
00:17:04And it took hours to get back.

00:18:35I started researching it,
00:18:37because I wanted to know what this was.
00:18:39And if I could identify what it was,
00:18:42I need to tell the game warden,
00:18:44park ranger, or something.
00:18:46And I came across the encounters that people had.
00:18:49They think it's been around for a long time.
00:18:52They call it the dog men.
00:18:55I think it came from hell.
00:18:58Bigfoot, werewolves, angels, demons, all that stuff.
00:19:02I didn't believe in any of it.
00:19:04But this has opened my eyes.

00:19:17There is other stuff out there that we don't know about.
00:19:20And just because we haven't seen it,
00:19:22or lived through it, or experienced it,
00:19:24we, you know, we can't laugh and mock people

00:19:34that had similar experiences like this,

00:22:09I just started doing the Sasquatch research about a year ago,
00:22:12and that's how I met Shane.
00:22:14He has a project going on in southwest Missouri
00:22:17in the middle of the Ozark Mountains.
00:22:20I met Chris within a Facebook group,
00:22:23and we started chatting pretty well immediately.
00:22:30I could tell right away that Chris had the right vibe as a person
00:22:35and the right demeanor to be somebody that I could take out with me.

00:22:47Another guy, Randy and myself, came down to do five days of research.
00:22:53To get into the Ozarks,
00:22:56you're looking at an hour and a half drive southeast,
00:23:01about 100 miles or so from Springfield, Missouri, to the southeast.
00:23:14It's a beautiful place, you know?
00:23:16Just a lot of thick woods, a lot of bluffs.
00:23:19It has a creek that runs through it,
00:23:22and the rest of the area is nothing but deep, deep, deep woods.
00:23:31It's not great for hiking.
00:23:34In areas, it's really, really rough.
00:23:38We drove out to the property.
00:23:40The mountains are just a gorgeous place to be.
00:23:44You're in the middle of nowhere, no hustle and bustle.
00:23:49I love the woods.
00:23:52I feel a lot more at ease in the woods.
00:23:55Wow, it's beautiful.
00:23:57No, I told you.
00:23:59I brought in Chris, and he said,

00:24:08and the plan was to spend five days in this particular area, camping.

00:24:39So these arched structures are what we're going to be looking for, okay?
00:24:44Our plan was to go up there and look for these tree structures
00:24:47that they're claiming to be Sasquatch.
00:24:50There's a lot of people that think that Sasquatch create these arches in the woods.

00:25:29I was looking for a place that was open.
00:25:31I was searching for a place that was open.
00:25:34And I found this beautiful spot where it was raining.
00:25:39And I was going to go in and I was going to go in and I was going to go in
00:25:42I went 20, 30 foot forward.
00:25:44And as I hiked by myself, there was a loud crack,
00:25:55the sound of a limb cracking behind me.
00:26:02And I immediately turned and scanned the woods.
00:26:06And I wasn't seeing anything.

00:26:12I yelled for the guys, but there was nothing.
00:26:15I started looking just to the side of the trail.
00:26:25I was in pretty deep.
00:26:28All by myself, and I couldn't see anything.
00:26:35I couldn't see myself.
00:26:42Then all of a sudden, I got this over overwhelming feeling
00:26:46that something was watching me, staring me down.
00:26:58I was really scared.
00:27:05I couldn't see myself.
00:27:15So now I'm alone by the trackway now.
00:27:19And then all of a sudden, I found something amazing.
00:27:24Hey, guys, you'll never believe what I just found.
00:27:32So now that uneasy feeling came back again.
00:27:35And I was like, oh, my god, I can't believe this is happening
00:27:38to me.
00:27:42Everybody has different theories on what it was.
00:27:44But there's no other animals in the woods
00:27:46that could do this stuff.
00:27:47Oh, wow.
00:27:49This was like nothing I'd seen.
00:28:05There was this large arch, this tree that has been bent over.
00:28:13The Sasquatch structure is not the same trees that are around.
00:28:16They bring them in, and they make these structures
00:28:18in the middle of the woods.
00:28:19I got pictures on my phone.
00:28:21All woven in and branches that are from all over the place.
00:28:25It's really, really amazing.
00:28:27Sasquatch makes them maybe as a marker or a warning to others.
00:28:42I was like, I'm going to die.

00:29:47The plan was to try and bring them in closer to you
00:29:50and have interaction that you can actually document.

00:30:19we're going to do tomorrow morning, what

00:31:35aren't real.
00:31:40We've been getting evidence, and this is evidence
00:31:42that is really hard to get.
00:31:46So we were pumped.
00:31:51I was very excited, very, very excited.
00:31:53I'm like, this is first night.
00:31:55I can't believe this is already happening.
00:31:57The next day, Randy goes down into the creek bed.
00:32:02It's probably about a five-minute walk from the camp.

00:33:46that we were looking for.
00:33:49So we brought all the casting material down,

00:33:55So here's one of the castings we took.
00:33:57For something to leave a track this big
00:34:00and to have a foot this big, you would
00:34:02think it would be well over 400 or 500 pounds.
00:34:05As you can see, the toes kind of splay outward.
00:34:09And there is a little bit of sign
00:34:13of a mid-tarsal break within the foot, which is something
00:34:17that humans don't have.
00:34:25The good part is we have track, track, track, track,
00:34:33a smaller one.

00:44:30It's a beautiful mountainous state.
00:44:37I try to be outside as much as humanly possible.
00:44:42Very few people are just kind of stay at home bodies in Colorado.
00:44:49My family's cabin is in Red River, New Mexico.
00:44:53From Denver, it's about a seven hour drive.
00:45:01It's well hidden inside the woods.
00:45:04It's pretty secluded.
00:45:09When I was 11, I would hike up there.
00:45:15It was dense forest.
00:45:22As I got further in, all you heard was birds and, you know, the wind blowing.
00:45:31It's beautiful.
00:45:37That's when this whole thing started to get bad.
00:45:53I've never really told anyone about any of this.
00:46:00My mother and my stepfather, we were just taking a few days for a family get-together.
00:46:12It was probably about 6.37 in the morning.
00:46:15We're just in the cabin, kind of in the woods, playing a card game.
00:46:19You sure you're not coming?
00:46:22Yes, I'm sure.
00:46:24Okay, well, you've got the key, you'll have to let us in.
00:46:28My parents went down to the lake, getting fish for breakfast, because I was supposed
00:46:34to actually go fishing with them, but I didn't want to.
00:46:59I heard, in the distance, it sounded like someone was walking on the driveway.
00:47:18I thought it was my mom coming back to make breakfast.
00:47:31There was a fog, you know, like a low mist hovering over the ground a little bit, but
00:47:37I couldn't see anyone.
00:47:44But then I saw this thing, and he was standing off in the distance, it was maybe about 50
00:47:50yards or so.
00:47:53It was just standing there, and the best I can describe it is it kind of, the guy who
00:47:58had deer legs and the face, it looked like someone wearing a hollowed-out deer skull.
00:48:08I couldn't see his eyes, but then it turned its head to me.
00:48:13But where the eyes, like, should be, you just see black holes.
00:48:20We looked at each other, and that's when I knew it was something, something else.
00:48:26I kind of got scared, so I hid below the windowsill.
00:48:36I could hear one footstep hit the gravel driveway, and then from there, I hear three.
00:48:47Next thing I know, it's at the cabin.
00:48:50The distance from the porch of the cabin to the end of the driveway is about 50 feet.
00:48:56I don't know if it jumped or if it flew or what, but it covered that ground in three
00:49:03steps and it was on the porch.
00:49:08It started to walk up the stairs.
00:49:11It was about three feet from the door at that point.
00:49:15I was confused and really scared.
00:49:20I remember hearing my mom's voice.
00:49:26I thought maybe what I saw was in my mind, and my mom was on the porch.
00:49:33I wasn't sure if I should look out the window to see if my mom's there or just stay there

00:49:40If it was my mom, she would keep asking me, or she would put down whatever she was carrying
00:49:48and open the door herself, and none of that happened.

00:49:57It was still asking to come in, in my mom's voice, but every time that it was refused
00:50:04entry, it kind of got deeper.

00:50:11It sounded like someone recorded my mom's voice and played it backwards.

00:50:17It happened within the blink of an eye, from trying to casually open the door to it kind
00:50:23of kicking and punching at the door.
00:50:27I didn't open the door because there was no way that that was my mom.
00:50:34It was the creature with the deer head.
00:50:42It seemed like it was trying to break down the door.
00:50:44My main feeling was just fear of what's going to happen if it gets in.
00:51:14It just stopped hitting the door.
00:51:25It stopped asking to come in.
00:51:27I heard loud footsteps leaving the porch, and when I looked back up, it was gone.
00:51:39When my parents got back to the cabin, they said that they didn't see anything.
00:51:50They didn't hear anything while they were down at the lake.
00:51:53They didn't hear anything walking up.
00:51:55They said, you know, it could have just been an animal who was eating a deer.
00:52:03I asked my parents, you know, if there was anything in the world that was like that.
00:52:08They said no.
00:52:11I didn't think that I would ever see it again.
00:52:32For years, I questioned what I saw a lot.
00:53:01It would come up, you know, every now and then when we're sitting around campfires or hanging out with friends.
00:53:08But it wasn't always on my mind until the second time that I saw it.
00:53:23It was a late May day, and it was crisp air.
00:53:28It was in the morning. It was beautiful.
00:53:32Cleanest air you can breathe in.
00:53:36It was about a 37-mile hike on the top of the Madison Range, so it was around 12,000 feet.
00:53:45There's not much wildlife up there, and my plan was just to hike from peak to peak.
00:53:56It was just me. There's not a lot of people that know about that trail.
00:54:13I was just hiking along the trail, just enjoying the scenery.
00:54:18I could hear birds singing in the distance.
00:54:21I could hear the wind, bugs, crickets.
00:54:30Then it got quiet.
00:54:39There wasn't any birds singing. There wasn't any bugs. There was nothing.
00:54:47I started feeling really anxious.
00:54:49It seemed like someone was watching me.
00:54:53I saw something standing off to the side.
00:55:01I thought maybe some crazy up in the woods in Montana playing jokes on people.
00:55:07I've seen deer, elk, moose, all that, and it wasn't anything like that.
00:55:16I saw what looked to be the creature again.
00:55:22All I could see was its upper body.
00:55:27The old deer head, it looked exactly the same.
00:55:32It was just standing there watching me.

00:55:41It kind of put everything in concrete for me that what I saw the first time when I was 11 was real.

00:55:55After a certain time, I did look away.
00:55:59When I went to go look back, it wasn't there.
00:56:04After it disappeared, I waited to see if it was going to reappear somewhere else.
00:56:10There was nothing, so after about 10 minutes, I just kept on going.

01:00:13And he was like, oh yeah, I've got this thing that follows me around.

01:01:29And so I fell back asleep.
01:01:32A little while later, I started to feel something, like, touching my leg.
01:01:45Once again, first instinct, Emilio, why are you touching me? What are you doing?

01:01:51So, I kind of wake up, and he's dead asleep next to me.
01:02:03I, like, feel, like, this sensation. It's, like, harder and harder and harder.
01:02:11I'm, like, freaking out for a second. It started to feel like something was, like, scratching my leg.
01:02:17So, I sit up, and it stops.
01:02:26I try to wake Emilio up. I go to, like, shake him. Emilio didn't wake up at all.
01:02:31I'm really scared at this point, like, it was so vivid that I don't know how I could have been imagining a feeling like that.
01:02:40It definitely wasn't a peaceful rest of the night, for sure.
01:02:47I was so scared that something else was going to happen that night.
01:03:05I didn't wake up the next morning feeling like I had actually slept that night.
01:03:09Immediately, I just think, don't even bother mentioning it. You probably dreamt it.
01:03:15So, I brush it off. I pull the cover off.
01:03:20Obviously, something happened to me last night to cause this.

01:03:28The scratch marks on her leg.
01:03:31It looks like a human was trying to, basically, like, scratch her leg.

01:03:41And I was kind of becoming concerned for Kelsey.
01:03:45I don't know what to do, and it just, like, really kind of freaked me out.
01:03:51I told him that morning, I was like, I had this crazy dream last night.
01:03:57And he looked kind of concerned when I told him that.
01:04:01The whole time I'm telling him, he just looks, like, grave.
01:04:06I kind of was making the connection that maybe my thing that's been following me all these years is upset that I'm around someone.
01:04:18When things do get bad, I don't want people to get hurt.

01:04:36That night, we're watching a movie, and he falls asleep.
01:04:40And he kind of starts kicking a little bit, kind of, like, rolling around a lot.
01:04:54He starts kind of, like, mumbling, and I thought, that's really weird.
01:04:56He's never, like, talked in his sleep before.
01:05:03I'm getting ready to reach over to wake him up, and he just starts convulsing.
01:05:17His eyes are rolled back. The whole bed was shaking. It was absolutely terrifying.
01:05:27And then, all of a sudden, it just stops. His body, like, goes limp.
01:05:34I remember waking up, standing over Kelsey.
01:05:40It felt like I was not in my body. It felt like someone else kind of had the reins, so to speak.
01:05:50I couldn't, like, move. I couldn't do anything. But I could see what was going on.

01:06:53I think I'm imagining things. I, like, blink, shake my head, look over. It's still there.
01:07:03And it's just looking directly at me.
01:07:09I'm panicking. What is that? How is this thing here? I've got to be dreaming.
01:07:15And I kind of scoot back, try to wake Emilio up, so I turn. I go to, like, shake him, and I turn back. It's gone.
01:07:26I'm looking all over, thinking, is it somewhere else? Did it move? Is it closer? What's happening? And there's just nothing.
01:07:37I definitely have no doubts about anything being there anymore.
01:07:41I was like, I swear to God, I saw that thing! He tells me he's like something crazy happened.
01:07:46I saw through it's eyes.

01:07:50I'm like, what are you talking about? And he's like, I think I got possessed.
01:07:55Whatever this is, it's gotten more and more dangerous.

01:11:07It happened in the outskirts of Asheville, North Carolina,
01:11:10on the Blue Ridge Parkway,
01:11:12a few hours away from Charlotte, North Carolina.
01:11:15The area is heavily wooded, high mountains,
01:11:18big peaks, big valleys.
01:11:20Largest mountain chain east of the Mississippi River,
01:11:23known as the Smoky Mountains,
01:11:25because it gets heavily dense fog up there
01:11:28at certain parts of the year.
01:11:30It's a very dangerous area.
01:11:32The road, it had two big overlooks,
01:11:34which you would pull your car into,
01:11:36hang out with your friends,
01:11:38and you kind of oversee the valley.
01:11:40Really cool place to hang out at night,
01:11:42which there wasn't much to do in town,
01:11:44so that's kind of what we did.
01:11:46We'd go up there Friday, Saturday nights.
01:11:49On that particular night,
01:11:51I picked my friends up,
01:11:53and we went up to the top of the mountain.
01:11:56It was a really cool place to hang out.
01:12:00On that particular night,
01:12:02I picked my friend Dennis up at his house,
01:12:04and we were going to go meet up
01:12:06with another friend in the overlook.
01:12:13We get on the parkway,
01:12:15and maybe a couple miles in,
01:12:17you come around the bend,
01:12:19and right when I came around the bend,
01:12:21we noticed on the right-hand side of the road
01:12:23a pickup truck.
01:12:25What's that?
01:12:27Maybe about 15, 20 yards into the woods,
01:12:30and it was odd because it was the middle of the night.
01:12:33We noticed this man walking back to his truck,
01:12:37and he had a shovel in his hand,
01:12:39and it was an outdoorsy kind of guy.
01:12:42We both kind of looked at each other,
01:12:44and we were like, well, that's strange.
01:12:46But, I mean, it was just a really weird sight to see.
01:12:58We just went up there like usual,
01:13:00met up with friends, had a good time.
01:13:02A few hours later, we drove back down the mountain.

01:13:18My friend Dennis and I, when we got near the spot
01:13:21where we saw the man in the truck...
01:13:23He was by the exit sign.

01:13:28The light came on in my car.
01:13:30The light, the dome light flickered a couple times,
01:13:32and it was pitch black outside,
01:13:34so that light blinded you.
01:13:36Scared the shit out of us, basically.
01:13:38It has never flickered ever,
01:13:40other than when you opened the car door
01:13:42like it's supposed to, it would come on.
01:13:44It was spookiest, but we kind of laughed it off,
01:13:47almost like it being coincidental that it went off,
01:13:50even though it made no sense why it went off.
01:13:53Nothing too much happened for a little while.
01:14:04The strange thing is, after that night,
01:14:07I'd almost expect my light to go off,
01:14:10where we saw that man come down with a shovel.

01:14:56I know he believed me because he could just tell

01:15:11until a few months later, my friend Dennis and I
01:15:14drove up to the first server to just hang out.

01:15:33Without hesitation said, it looks like a ghost girl
01:15:36with her head tilted, hair coming down.
01:15:38You can see eyes, and it was clear as day.
01:15:42It was just the weirdest thing ever.
01:15:46That night we felt that all this was kind of tied together.
01:15:51This man and his shovel, the light going off.
01:15:55Jeez!
01:15:56I felt it had some sort of connection,
01:15:59like, just intuition.
01:16:00Maybe this girl, somebody was trying to reach out to us
01:16:03in some sort of way beyond our comprehension.
01:16:07Maybe we saw this guy, no one else saw him.
01:16:10Maybe he killed this girl, buried her.
01:16:15Could this really be, like, some dead girl,
01:16:18like, calling out to us?
01:16:21It looked like a ghost.
01:16:24This is more than my 20-year-old mind could comprehend.
01:16:33Later that night, I dropped Dennis off at his house
01:16:36and I'm making my way back to my house.

01:16:42I'm driving along is when I hear that loud, sharp pop
01:16:46on the back of my car.
01:16:55It happened right across from,
01:16:56almost right across from where I saw that man in his truck.

01:17:13I had no cell phone reception up there.
01:17:16It's 2 o'clock, 3 o'clock in the morning.
01:17:19Quiet and eerie.
01:17:34I was freaked out.

01:18:06I just felt like I was being watched the whole time.
01:18:10I heard a snarl.
01:18:22A moment after that, my car came back on again.
01:18:26About 20 feet after pulling out of there, my light came back on.

01:18:48I thought that girl we saw, maybe it was her spirit.

01:19:09And just say, hey, listen, I don't know if this means anything more than what it means,
01:19:13but I saw a man in his truck walking back with a shovel late at night.
01:19:17It was about 12, 1 o'clock in the morning, out by the park lane, exit sign.
01:19:25The time I saw it, where I saw it at, and just said, you know, you may want to like look into this.

01:19:35I didn't mention any of the odd things that happened, because I didn't want to think I was crazy.
01:19:59That night we had gone up to the parkway to go just play some music.
01:20:06So we pulled into a secluded spot closer to the first overlook.
01:20:10It was late at night, about 1 o'clock in the morning.
01:20:16And we started hearing voices, kind of like laughing, girl and guy, coming from different areas, closer where we're at.
01:20:27It would stop and listen, and it would stop, too.
01:20:30Then it would play again, and you would hear it.
01:20:32It would get louder, and then you would stop playing, and it would kind of trill off.
01:20:37You would still hear it, but it would get lower and lower until you didn't hear it anymore.
01:20:46You know, what the hell is going on, you know?
01:20:49This is eerie, spooky, and it's not like it's coming from the mountains.

01:20:56This is getting creepier and creepier.

01:21:03We started hearing what sounded like a snarl.

01:21:30And so we pulled into the first overlook where we saw the man in his truck.
01:21:35That's the only reason we pulled into that overlook was because he had to take a piss.

01:21:46It just felt strange up there.
01:21:48It felt like we were being watched.
01:21:53But it felt like almost static charge.
01:21:56The hairs on my arms were sticking up like a storm was coming in or something.

01:22:09And I was about to turn back to my car, and that's when I started hearing what sounded like hooves.
01:22:16But like just two-legged, you know, something with two legs walking and walking
01:22:22from the area where we were just at.

01:22:26And then at the same moment, Dennis turns around and starts heading back.
