00:00Hey there, it's Chloe from afar. Italy's full of underrated places to see, like Bologna,
00:10where I am right now. Here are a few others worth a visit.
00:20Bologna is the city for good food. It even has a nickname, La Grassa, which translates
00:24to the fat. Chow down on local specialties like mortadella sausage, tortellini, and tortelloni,
00:30which is basically a bigger version of tortellini, and enjoy the city's vibrant energy. We
00:34have the University of Bologna to thank for that, which is actually the oldest university
00:38in the western world.
00:42If Verona feels like it has a bit of a romantic vibe to it, it might be because Shakespeare's
00:45Romeo and Juliet was set here. This city, about a 90 minute train ride from Venice,
00:50makes a great day trip. It has a Roman Colosseum dating back to the 1st century, which now
00:54hosts concerts and the Verona Opera.
00:59Sardinia is the perfect kind of island for stretching out on white sand beaches and taking
01:03dips in turquoise waters. Make sure you have plenty of time to explore Italy's second
01:06largest island. It's also home to one of the largest canyons in Europe and sand dunes
01:11that reach more than 200 feet in height.
01:15The cities of Bergamo and Brescia might sound familiar, as they actually landed a spot in
01:18a far is where to go list back in 2023. Head to Bergamo for the gardens of Palazzo Moroni
01:23and other beautiful places to get fresh air. Then take a 47 mile bicycle route to get to
01:28the colourful city of Brescia, where you can find some great spots for gourmet pizza.
01:34Perugia is the capital of the Omni region, which is known for its olive oil and truffles.
01:38Here you'll see walls that have existed since medieval times. And don't miss Piazza Quattro
01:42Novembre, where you'll find a gothic cathedral full of renaissance paintings and frescoes.
01:49Legend has it Tropea was founded by Hercules. This small village in Calabria has been recognized
01:53as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. So relax and walk around the historic centre
01:58of this coastal city, but don't leave without some jam with Tropea's specialty onions.
