Germany uses drones to catch graffiti artists.

Drones are being considered for use in a variety of ways across the world.

German railway authorities are planning to use small surveillance drones with infrared cameras to catch graffiti artists who deface their train cars.

The Deutsche Bahn national railway company’s trains were reportedly vandalized 14 thousand times last year, and the company spent the equivalent of 9 point 8 million dollars to clean it up.

Infrared cameras can be used at night, and the footage can be used as evidence for the prosecution of vandals in court.

The drones can fly at an altitude of up to 492 feet at 33 miles an hour, and can fly on autopilot for 25 miles.

They cost around 77 thousand dollars, and a few of them will soon be tested at different rail depots in Germany.

Deutsche Bahn says that they will only operate the drones on their own private property.

What do you think? Should there be some limitations on usage of drones or should they be used freely?
