Pesky Rats Captured and Hanged on Tree in China

A photo has recently gone viral, showcasing three dead rats tied to a public tree in Chengdu, China. Basically the rats were publicly hanged because they had stolen and eaten vegetables.
Most people will agree that rats and mice are a nuisance at best. There are however, differences in opinion on how to handle them.
A photo has recently gone viral, showcasing three, most likely dead, rodents tied to a tree in Chengdu, China. One had a note attached reading “I was wrong, I repent’.
Basically the rats were publicly hanged because they had stolen and eaten vegetables. The rats were captured by an employee at a local advertisement firm.
The rodents were reportedly running around the newly renovated office space of the building. They swiped the workers' vegetables and even chewed through some cable.
Eventually the staffer got fed up and captured the rats. While sources differ on whether the rodents were dead or still alive, they were attached to the tree right in front of the police station.
Local law enforcement actually found the ordeal to be quite humorous and posted a photo of the dead mice on the department’s active social media account.
However many other netizens didn’t find it funny, and voiced their concerns about it being animal abuse.
