Guatemala: President Lobbying for Legislative Support

Despite massive protests in the streets and calls from sectors of the political establishment demanding his resignation, Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina is resorting to legal maneuvers and furiously trying to rally support in congress to thwart moves to remove his impunity, which would pave the way for impeachment proceedings. If successful, after leaving office he would remain a member of the Central American parliament, and continue to enjoy immunity. Gerardo Torres reports from Guatemala City. teleSUR
