Venezuela: Protests Held Outside Leopoldo Lopez Trial

Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez is in court in Caracas on charges that he incited violence last year that left 43 people dead. Government supporters together with victims of the violence protested outside the trial. Fist fights broke out earlier in the day after Lopez’s wife Lilian Tintori arrived outside the heavily guarded Palace of Justice, where the trial is being held. One Lopez supporter reportedly suffered a heart attack. Many government supporters feel strongly that Lopez should stay in prison. teleSUR
