The death toll in Guatemala’s landslide that devastated the El Cambray village near the capital city almost two weeks ago has risen to 273, with a total of 267 people still missing. Volunteers and the Guatemalan Army are still working frantically in the search and to get essential goods to families affected by the landslide. Authorities have also warned of the threat of the spread of disease. It is estimated that 90 houses were buried. Some authorities have said that the disaster could have been avoided, given that the zone had been declared a risk on two occasions. teleSUR
