Campaign Against Uribe Critics Is Nothing New

The campaign against Colombian Senator Ivan Cepeda for allegedly paying for testimony to be given in the parliamentary investigation into former president Alvaro Uribe's ties to paramilitary forces is nothing new. Inspector General Alejandro Ordoñez has moved against other left-wing critics of Uribe in the past. This time, however, 29 paramilitary officials are prepared to testify and document ties with Uribe.
