Cultura Latina: Papier Mache in Mexico, Graphic Design in Peru

Today we close 2015 with a special program featuring cultural expressions from Mexico and Peru. First our host Mauricio Izquierdo introduces us to 24-year-old Carlos Arredondo, a Mexican artisan who creates papier maché folk art, using old crafting techniques in an effort to preserve customs, roots and traditions for future generations. Then in Lima, we meet a pioneer in graphic design and comic book art from Peru, Cherman Kino. He’s also famous for his portraits of celebrities, sports legends, politicians and national icons. But his main goal is to express a strong social message in his work displayed in Peru and in art galleries abroad. teleSUR
