Ingredients:-
9-10 Idlis
½ tsp. Mustard seeds
5-6 Curry leaves
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 small tomato, finely chopped
2 tbsp. Curd
2 tbsp. Coriander chutney
2 tbsp. Tamarind chutney
1 tbsp. Boondi
⅓ tsp. Red chilli powder
¼ tsp. Chaat masala
¼ tsp. Cumin powder
1 tbsp. Sev, for garnish
2 tbsp. Vegetable oil
¼ tsp. Coriander leaves, for garnish
Method:-
1. Cut the idlis into bite sized pieces.
2. Heat oil in a pan, and put in the mustard seeds. When they start to crackle, add in the curry leaves and saute until aromatic. Then add the idli pieces and fry until golden brown.
3. Drain the excess oil on paper towels, and then start assembling the chaat.
4. In a bowl, put some of the fried idli pieces at the bottom, and top with some onions and tomatoes. Then add in the curd, followed by coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
5. Then season with red chilli powder, chaat masala, and cumin powder.
6. Add a few pieces of boondi over the top, and sprinkle generously with sev.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
