Trump On Bannon: 'We'll See What Happens'

During a press briefing on Tuesday, President Trump refused to say if he has confidence in his chief strategist Steve Bannon.

President Trump has remained vague about the future of his chief strategist Steve Bannon amid growing speculation that he is on his way out.
Towards the end of a press conference about the nation’s infrastructure on Tuesday, the president was asked if he still has confidence in Bannon.
Trump said, “I like Mr. Bannon. He’s a friend of mine  But Mr. Bannon came on very late, you know that. I went through 17 senators, governors, and I won all the primaries.”
He continued, “Mr. Bannon came on very much later than that, and I like him, he’s a good man. He is not a racist, I can tell you that. He’s a good person. He actually gets a very unfair press in that regard.”
The president added, “...we’ll see what happens with Mr. Bannon. But, he’s a good person, and I think the press treats him, frankly, very unfairly.”
CBS News is reporting, based on several insiders, that “Bannon has never been in more jeopardy, and one well-placed source said he could be gone by the end of this week.”
Meanwhile, a source told Fox News, “President Trump is just waiting for him to resign.”
One of Bannon’s reported challenges is his friction with other high-level members of the administration; he is said to have clashed with national security adviser H.R. McMaster, senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former communications director Anthony Scaramucci, among others.
