Fa quatre anys un (encara més) jove Matthew McDaid apareixia al nostre balcó amb una veu prometedora i un somriure tímid. Avui, ens interpreta "Sweet Tide", del seu disc de debut i ho fa amb la veu profunda, madura i amb una presència hipnòtica. Armat amb una guitarra i el seus peus a mode de percussió, encarna la millor tradició del folk amb un toc contemporani. El seu disc "Off the beaten track" és dels que acabarà entre els millors de l'any.
Four years ago, a young(er) Matthew McDaid shot a BalconyTV Barcelona episode with a promising voice and a shy smile. Today, he performs "Sweet Tide" from 'Off The Beaten Track' (Great Canyon Records, 2017), his debut record and he does so with a deep voice, well grounded and with a charming presence. Armed with a guitar and his feet as a drum, he empersonates the best folk tradition with a contemporary twist. His album will end up high up in the charts.
