President Trump on Thursday tweeted about ratings and "compliments" he has received for his State of the Union address.

President Trump on Thursday tweeted about the ratings and "nice compliments" he has received for his Tuesday's State of the Union address.
"Thank you for all of the nice compliments and reviews on the State of the Union speech. 45.6 million people watched, the highest number in history. @FoxNews beat every other Network, for the first time ever, with 11.7 million people tuning in. Delivered from the heart!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
The president did indeed garner quite a few positive reactions.
"'The state of the union is strong' is a perfectly fine cliche for presidents, but the idea of strength has extra meaning today. In his first State of the Union address, President Trump tried to give good depth to that idea," wrote the Washington Examiner's editors.
National Review's Dan McLaughlin wrote, "Many Republicans, like me, who are not comfortable with Trump would have been a lot easier to convert if the Trump of tonight's speech was the every day Trump."
However, The Hill has refuted Trump's viewership claim based on Nielsen numbers.
"Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress early last year attracted at total of 47.7 million viewers...while former President Barack Obama had 48 million in Jan. 2010 and 52 million in Feb. 2009," notes The Hill.
