President Trump on Thursday slammed former National Economic Council director Gary Cohn and gave the impression that he may have damaging, embarrassing, or otherwise sensitive information about him.  In a phone interview with 'Fox & Friends,' Trump said of news reports citing unnamed sources, "There are no sources. They make it up. They're like novelists."  Trump also called into question the reliability of Bob Woodward's book, 'Fear: Trump in the White House,' prompting a host to suggest that Cohn could have been one of the sources in it.  "Gary Cohn, I could tell stories about him like you couldn't believe," the president noted. Furthermore, Trump also alleged in the interview that "Cohn left the administration because 'he never thought we could make' trade deals with Canada and Mexico, which partnered with the U.S. in what used to be called NAFTA," notes CNBC. Cohn served in his position with the Trump administration until April 2018. Prior to that, he was president of Goldman Sachs.
