00:00 Hi, welcome back to another episode of Baker Make. I'm Angela Kopecky. Today I'm going
00:06 to be showing you how to make this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cake. First we're going
00:10 to start off with the figurines. We're going to take some green fondant and place some
00:14 CMC or Tylos. We're going to roll it out and shape it into a round ball. We're just going
00:24 to take a tool, you can use a knife, and we'll make an indent there for the mouth and two
00:29 small dots on the side. Now I'm going to start off with the orange and we're going to roll
00:39 this out. This is going to be for the bandana part. So just roll it out. Taking a pizza
00:48 cutter or a knife, we're just going to slice that down into a thin strip. Take a ball tool
00:57 and we're going to make two indents there where the eyes are going to be. Take some
01:05 sugar glue or water and we're just going to spread that around the front part and the
01:12 sides and the back part as well. Take our strip and we're just going to place it around,
01:23 push it down and then overlap it on the side there. Take two white fondant balls with some
01:32 sugar glue and we're just going to place those on there for the eyes. Take some black fondant
01:43 and roll out two smaller balls and place them in the center there. You can see here I've
01:52 made all four, so you just roll out. You do the same. You do a purple, orange, red and
01:58 a blue and leave them to dry. This is going to be the lid for the top part, so just sprinkle
02:04 down some icing sugar or corn flour and roll out some gray fondant. I'm using a 6-inch
02:24 board here, so just turn it around and place some sugar glue on the top there so we can
02:33 get that fondant to stick. We'll just take our gray fondant and place it over the top
02:39 and smooth it out. Taking a smoother, just smooth it out and run your fingers along the
02:49 side there. Take a blade and we're going to cut around that circle there, all the way
02:59 around. Take a smoother and smooth the edges off. Roll out a long piece of gray fondant
03:12 and then just push that down. I'm using a ruler here. Then just place it around all
03:17 the way to the back and cut that excess off there. Take a tool or a knife and we'll just
03:27 make little indents in there. Place down some sugar glue and roll some balls out and place
03:36 them down evenly. Take a knife and we're going to make those little indents there for the
03:42 screws. This is going to be the bottom tier, so I've got 4 layers and you'll need to bake
03:48 2 cakes, so one 8-inch for the bottom and one 6-inch for the top. Just take a board.
03:57 I'm going to use white chocolate ganache. You can use buttercream. We'll just spread
04:01 that all over the board so we can stick our cake there. Take one layer and then we'll
04:11 just place it on the board. Fill each layer and smooth out the sides. I'm going to use
04:22 chocolate ganache here and we'll just spread it all over the side, just like that. Make
04:31 your way up to the top and spread that around evenly. Place some ganache on the top and
04:40 spread that out to the end. Taking a scraper, we're going to just scrape all the way around
04:46 so we can get an even surface. Remove that excess there and scrape it around again. You
04:58 can see here we've got the edges up the top, so just take your scraper and then pull back.
05:04 Remove the excess and we'll do that all the way around. You can see here we've got a nice
05:11 even finish, so we'll just finish it off with a nice smooth surface. Take some icing sugar
05:20 or corn flour and we're going to roll out the blue fondant for the bottom tier. So we'll
05:26 just roll that out. Take a smoother and we'll just smooth that fondant out there. Take our
05:38 cake and we'll cover it on the top and secure the edges so we don't have any tears there.
05:58 Take a pizza cutter or a knife and we're going to chop off that excess there. Using a smoother,
06:07 we'll just smooth out the fondant there all the way around and on the top. Now this is
06:14 going to be for the top tier, so take some grey fondant and roll it out. Take a smoother
06:22 and smooth it out. Cover the cake and again we're going to secure the edges over the side
06:29 there so it doesn't crack. Take a smoother and smooth it out. Now we're going to cover
06:43 our board. I've used a 12 inch round board and just place some sugar glue over the board
06:50 and we'll just smooth out that fondant there. Take a blade and we're going to just cut that
06:58 excess off, just like that. I'm going to use some royal icing to stick the cakes each layer
07:10 onto the board there. So just smooth out some royal icing. We'll take a knife to lift up
07:17 the cake. Just using your hand, place it on the board and position it in the center there.
07:28 I've used some dowels or skewers to hold that second tier up, so just insert them into that
07:34 bottom tier. Take some more royal icing and place it in the center there. So just smooth
07:43 that out. Take a knife and lift up that tier and place it on the top there. Just position
07:56 it in the center. Roll out some black fondant. This is going to be for the buildings on the
08:01 side, so use one square cutter, one triangle cutter and we'll cut out two rectangular shapes
08:09 there for the sides. Take some sugar glue or water and we'll just place some there on
08:19 the cake and we'll stick our pieces there to form a building. Do for the sides as well.
08:36 Some for the other side and some for the top part as well. Do this all the way around.
08:49 You can do them different sizes, different shapes. Just using that rectangular cutter
08:56 and you can cut them down as you wish. Place some sugar glue and stick them on. Place that
09:12 top part and do this all the way around. Roll out some yellow fondant and just using a small
09:25 rectangular cutter, cut out some pieces and these are going to be for the windows. Cut
09:32 them out into little squares and stick them on each piece. You have to do this all the
09:38 way around. I'm using a number 6 here. You can use any number or if you don't want to
09:50 use it, that's fine. Just take some sugar glue, place some sugar glue on the back and
09:58 we'll stick it on that front building there. Roll out some white balls and just place some
10:09 sugar glue on there and just do this around the cake. Roll out some red fondant. I've
10:17 colored this with black and red combined. Just using a ribbon cutter or you can use
10:23 a pizza cutter, cut them down into long strips and these are going to be for the bricks on
10:30 the top tier. We'll just cut them down. Starting from the front, we'll take some sugar glue
10:41 and place it on the cake and we'll just glue them down like that. Space them out until
10:52 you get an even coverage all the way to the top. Now we're going to stick our little figurines
10:58 on the top. I'm going to use some royal icing and we'll start from the center and we'll
11:04 just place it down there. Place just a little bit underneath, not too much because it will
11:10 leak out. Do them one next to each other. That's the last one there. Leave this to dry.
11:27 Now we're going to do the little hands. Just roll out some green fondant, stick it next
11:31 to there and push that down. Using a knife, just make three small little indents there
11:37 for the fingers. Now we're going to stick that top lid on. Just place some royal icing
11:47 on the side there and place some right at the back. We'll take a little bit of fondant
11:55 and roll it into a ball. We'll stick that at the back as well and place just a little
12:02 bit of royal icing on the top. We'll grab our lid and we'll just position it on the
12:08 top and we'll hold that down and leave it to dry. I've put an edible image here and
12:20 I've just placed some stars there. You can decorate it however you wish. I've placed
12:26 a ribbon around that board there. There you go. As you can see, this was quite easy to
12:32 make. Thanks for watching the video. If you like this video, please feel free to subscribe
