00:00 ongoing storms in the Midwest as well as
00:02 across the southeast may cause some
00:04 travel delays this weekend. Bri Guy
00:06 explains in tonight's travel forecast.
00:08 Well if you're taking a trip across the
00:11 country let's start you off with your
00:13 national travel forecast. Starting off
00:16 in the northwest where we aren't
00:17 expecting any delays though it is a
00:18 little steamy outside. Boise 105
00:21 ranging in the triple digits from Reno
00:23 to Salt Lake City. So just take care of
00:25 yourself if you do have to venture out
00:26 in the heat and we're really feeling the
00:28 heat as we head further south and that's
00:29 why we could see some minor delays in
00:31 areas like Las Vegas and Phoenix across
00:33 the desert southwest. This heat can cause
00:36 some problems on the tarmac but overall
00:38 we aren't expecting any major delays and
00:40 no delays across the rest of the region.
00:42 Now as we slide a little bit north and
00:44 east to Minneapolis well we could see
00:46 some minor delays from thunderstorms
00:48 could produce some gustier winds but we
00:50 aren't expecting any major delays from
00:52 Bismarck to Casper all the way down
00:53 towards Kansas City. Similar story as we
00:55 travel a little bit further south except
00:57 in New Orleans where we could see some
00:59 more storms that could produce some
01:00 gustier winds that can cause some minor
01:02 delays and as we slide to the southeast
01:04 major delays possible in areas like
01:06 Jacksonville where severe weather is
01:07 going to be possible especially along
01:09 the Texas Panhandle but then minor
01:11 delays possible in Miami up towards
01:12 Atlanta across the Midwest, Chicago,
01:15 Detroit minor delays possible due to
01:17 those storms that could produce some
01:19 gustier winds. No delays across the
01:21 Northeast and as you're down the I-95
01:22 corridor from New York to Philadelphia
01:24 Baltimore and Washington DC well no
01:26 delays anticipated and overall we are
01:29 running lower this week than we were
01:31 last week in terms of AccuWeather US
01:33 flight cancellation forecast.
