00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we are jumping back into this topic by looking at 10 MORE
00:09 GTA Theories that might actually be true.
00:12 For this list we'll be looking at those theories that have a significant player backing behind
00:16 them.
00:17 Whether they're believable or totally far fetched, as long as they have some evidence,
00:21 we're going to talk about them.
00:23 If you think we missed one, make sure to check out our first video on GTA Theories.
00:27 Let's go.

00:33 the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:37 Nico Bellic is alive.
00:55 Connecting the GTA universes is always a fun fanservice that rarely yields negative results.
01:01 Bringing Johnny from GTA 4 to GTA 5, bringing Claude in for some backstory with Catalina
01:07 in GTA San Andres, bringing Lazlo all over the games worlds, it's a nod that players
01:12 appreciate and it shows Rockstar's love for their own games.
01:16 In GTA 5, players were left to surmise that our GTA 4 protagonist Nico Bellic had died
01:22 after Lester mentioned his old crew from Liberty City and the Eastern European who had quote
01:27 "gone quiet".
01:29 However, players who were particularly observant noticed that Nico had a life invader page,
01:35 leading players to believe that he's currently alive and may possibly show up in the future
01:39 of GTA Online.
01:44 GTA 5 protagonists represent different forms of currency.
01:59 Redditor ChoppyLestache has formed an interesting theory that has been supported online in a
02:04 handful of forums.
02:06 The theory is simple, each of our playable characters in GTA 5 represents a different
02:11 type of physical money.
02:13 Franklin represents greenback cash, Trevor represents gold and Michael represents silver.
02:19 Each character's colour that covers the screen when their special abilities are activated
02:23 match their assigned cash and certain physical characteristics in their appearance as well.
02:28 But the theory runs deeper than colour.
02:30 The connection between gold and silver, with greenback being more current and relevant
02:34 is just an example of the story links that support this theory.
02:38 And Rockstar has been known to tell wilder metaphors than this.
02:42 "Lester's offloading the gems, he knows a guy, he has 50 cents on the dollar."
02:46 "GTA Online is a testing ground for GTA 6"
02:52 Put your tinfoil hats on kids, because things are getting weird.
02:56 This theory suggests that due to the amount of focus and time that has gone into the multiplayer
03:00 experience of GTA 5, as opposed to the single player focus of previous games post launch,
03:06 Rockstar is using GTA Online as a testing ground for things that will appear in GTA
03:11 6.
03:12 Not only that, but they're also gathering information based on player experience to
03:16 specifically tailor the GTA 6 experience to what gamers seem to want to do, and, I'm
03:21 sorry for using this word again, experience.
03:24 Wow.
03:25 It's not totally crazy, I mean it's a little crazy.
03:30 The Police are Corrupt
03:35 The idea of police being corrupt is not a new theory in the GTA universe, but this theory
03:40 focuses specifically on GTA 5 and the discriminatory and targeted way the police behave.
03:47 A simple traffic infraction can quite easily lead to a massive shootout, leading to your
03:51 character being hospitalized.
03:53 Some players believe that the cops and hospitals of San Andreas are in cahoots, and the antagonistic
03:59 behaviour of the cops leads credence to the theory behind them intentionally providing
04:03 a consistent stream of money for the city through unethical means.
04:24 Insurance Companies are Tracking You
04:29 The theories that try to explain the less realistic elements of GTA are always the most
04:33 fun.
04:34 How is it that when you attack an NPC, cops are immediately alerted, even when there are
04:39 no cops around?
04:40 Well, Redditor Galaga222 theorises that insurance companies in the GTA universe actually implant
04:47 citizens with tracking chips that allow them to monitor their health, and also location.
04:52 This allows emergency services to act quickly when they notice a player, I mean a citizen's
04:57 health, dropping.
04:58 The theory also suggests that the reason hospital fees are so cheap is because of this privacy
05:03 trade off.
05:04 Honestly, I'd take the chip.
05:10 The NPCs are Revolting
05:14 This theory for GTA Online has a lot of backing and evidence behind it, and was even reported
05:18 on by Kotaku.
05:20 The theory suggests that the NPCs anger in GTA Online and their general behaviour has
05:25 been negatively ramped up with every GTA Online update.
05:29 Proof has come out of players noticing NPCs swerving to hit them and becoming hostile
05:33 for no reason.
05:35 Is Rockstar intentionally making their NPCs more hostile in preparation for them taking
05:40 over GTA 5 Online?
05:41 Are the NPCs going to force players over to GTA 6 Online when it eventually drops?
05:46 Who knows, for now, let's show them who's boss.
05:54 Trevor Killed His Father
06:02 This theory relies on us accepting that Rockstar are very careful, and particular, with their
06:07 scripts and the words they use, as the only piece of evidence to suggest that Trevor killed
06:12 his father is this.
06:14 When speaking to Debra, he explains that his father was not very "nice" to him.
06:19 Later in this same scene, he says that these people who he is with are also not very "nice",
06:24 and he then… unalives them.
06:27 This simple scene, as well as Trevor's general behaviours, vibe and overall demeanour, have
06:31 led many to believe that he did in fact dispose of his father, possibly in a similar way as
06:36 he disposed of Debra and Floyd.
06:38 That would be pretty cathartic.
06:42 The GTA Islands Are A Metaphor
07:06 This one is going to cut a little deep for my American brothers and sisters, so block
07:10 your ears or skip to the next entry.
07:13 Redditor AngryPuppy put forth a theory about the GTA games, and their worlds.
07:18 GTA game maps are always surrounded by water, and are always more or less an island.
07:23 The theory suggests that the island is a metaphor for America.
07:28 With the game worlds often being a heightened version of America and Western Civilization,
07:32 our obsession with celebrities, guns, fame, glitz, media and lack of understanding for
07:36 the lower class, AngryPuppy suggests that the island, and small size of these very full
07:41 worlds, is Rockstar pointing at the self-obsession and self-aggrandizing nature of stereotypical
07:48 America.
07:49 And although America isn't an island, that they may as well be in their minds.
07:54 Rough.
07:55 Lester Knew Trevor Was Alive
08:06 The idea that Lester didn't know Trevor was alive during the events of GTA 5 is simply
08:10 absurd.
08:12 He is the member of their heist team that Lester would most want to have kept tabs on,
08:17 yet the story suggests that Lester had no idea.
08:20 Not only does he have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the criminal world of their city
08:25 and surroundings, but he was able to keep track of Michael while he was in protective
08:29 custody.
08:30 How does the story expect us to believe Lester was in the dark on Trevor?
08:35 Someone who was not at all quiet and kept his real name?
08:39 This theory suggests that the game doesn't want us to believe that.
08:42 It's not at all clear if this theory is true, why Lester would keep this information from
08:46 Michael, but what is clear is that there is absolutely zero chance Lester wasn't aware
08:52 of Trevor's whereabouts and life, even if the story seemingly suggests otherwise.
08:58 GTA takes place in an alternate history.
09:13 Redditor ZPoppy has laid out an incredibly in-depth analysis on the seemingly dystopian
09:19 world of GTA, but for the sake of time, here's the short version.
09:24 Grand Theft Auto and all of its games take place in an alternate universe in which the
09:29 business plot of 1933 was successful.
09:33 The business plot was a real-world historical event where wealthy businessmen of the time
09:37 tried to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
09:40 FDR's New Deal would have resulted in a redistribution of wealth, and they didn't like that one bit.
09:46 Spoiler alert, their attempt to overthrow FDR failed, but you guys knew that already,
09:51 right?
09:52 ZPoppy theorises that the pro-business, anti-consumer practices that littered the GTA universe would
09:58 be a direct butterfly effect of this business plot having gone the other way.
10:03 With less regulation, consumers would be less in the loop, and big business could use subliminal
10:07 messaging freely.
10:10 Corporations would have a total monopoly, resulting in the world of GTA.
10:15 Not too hard to believe.
