00:00 Hello, we have a bit of a north-west, south-east split developing in the forecast.
00:05 It does mean we do see a fair amount of mist and fog featuring in the forecast over the
00:11 coming few days.
00:13 But looking at the pressure sequence, we currently have high pressure to the south and that is
00:19 helping to keep it largely fine and dry across much of England and Wales.
00:23 Further to the north and west we do have this area of low pressure and that area of low
00:28 pressure is already driving thicker cloud with outbreaks of rain in across parts of
00:34 western Scotland and Northern Ireland and that will continue during the early hours
00:39 of Monday.
00:40 Further to the south across England and Wales we have largely clear skies and that does
00:45 mean we do see a little bit of low cloud, mist and fog forming by dawn, especially across
00:50 the south and east.
00:52 Overnight temperatures remaining comfortably in double figures right the way across the
00:57 country, although step out into the countryside and you can take a degree or so off these
01:02 values.
01:03 So it's a bright start with any early morning mist and fog quickly lifting across the south
01:09 and east, leaving behind wall-to-wall sunshine across much of eastern England.
01:15 We do see slightly clouded conditions further west and that band of cloud and rain is edging
01:20 in from the west across Scotland, where we also see those winds starting to actually
01:25 strengthen.
01:28 Temperatures on Monday afternoon will be slightly higher than the values we saw on Sunday, but
01:33 with those slightly breezier conditions for many, especially in the west, it will feel
01:37 a little bit fresher out there.
01:40 Now that band of cloud and rain across the north will continue to edge eastwards during
01:46 the course of Monday evening and that rain will become locally heavy and persistent across
01:51 parts of Scotland overnight.
01:55 Again some early morning mist and fog forming across the south and east.
02:00 And that changeable pattern continues with low pressure continuing to dominate the pitch
02:05 to the north and that will gradually win out, turning widely showery for many of us by the
02:10 middle of the week and those temperatures peaking across the south midweek before it
02:17 turns cooler as we move towards the weekend.
02:21 Bye for now.
