A generally cloudy day with outbreaks of rain across Wales. Some slightly brighter skies towards the south and southwest, with some heavy showers at times. Scattered showers across Scotland and Northern Ireland through the day, before dying out through the evening leaving largely clear skies, especially to the west. Elsewhere across much of England, it remains cloudy with a persistent band of rain moving in from the South. – This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 27/04/24. 00:00 Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Bittenio.
00:04 We've got a cool and showy weekend in store across the UK. In fact, across the central
00:07 part of England into parts of Wales, it's generally cloudy with some more persistent
00:11 outbreaks of rain, at least for a time, because that will tend to turn more patchy as we head
00:14 towards the evening. Towards the south and south-west, slightly brighter skies, but we
00:18 can see a scattering of heavy showers, particularly towards the south-west of England and towards
00:22 the north and north-west across Scotland and Northern Ireland, is the case of sunshine
00:26 and scattered showers. Wherever you are, temperatures are struggling for the time of year. The weather
00:29 forecast for the year, given an east to north-easterly breeze, is no higher than 11 Celsius towards
00:33 the north and north-west, perhaps peaking towards the south and south-east at 13 or
00:37 14 degrees. 14 in London there is 57 in Fahrenheit. As we go through the evening and during the
00:42 overnight period, the showers towards the north and west will start to ease, we'll see
00:45 more and more clear spells around. Whereas towards the south and east, outbreaks of more
00:49 persistent rain moving up from the south, some of that turning quite heavy, especially
00:52 during the early hours of Sunday. But with the clearest skies towards the north and north-west,
00:56 it will turn quite chilly, we can see a touch of frost in places. Some rural spots here
00:59 dipping below freezing. Towards the south and south-east, those temperatures hold up
01:03 in the range of 5 to 8 Celsius. As for Sunday, we'll see an east-west split in the weather.
01:09 Outbreaks of rain affecting many eastern parts, some of it turning quite heavy at times. Notice
01:13 for east Anglia, we could see slightly brighter skies for a time, setting off a few sharp
01:17 showers. Towards the north and west, or out towards the west and north-west I should say,
01:21 a brighter day generally, with a scattering of showers in places too. Once again, temperatures
01:25 are struggling. Given quite a keen breeze out towards the east, it will feel quite chilly
01:29 here, temperatures no better than 8 or 9 degrees in a few spots. Elsewhere, temperatures are
01:33 below average, peaking at 12 or 13 Celsius, perhaps a local 14 towards the far south and
01:38 south-east. 14 again is 57 in Fahrenheit. As we go through the evening on Sunday, rain
01:43 will continue to work its way across north-eastern parts of the UK, quite a blustery and wet
01:47 end of the day here. Elsewhere, those showers start to ease down, still a few around, but
01:52 with clearer skies, once again it will start to turn chilly as we head into the early hours
01:55 of Monday morning. That's pretty much it for me, but you can
