00:00 Diana is back with a slightly more classic deco. Here's a look at the brand
00:04 new McFarlane Toys Super Powers Wonder Woman.
00:09 Wonder Woman has come to represent the possibility and potential of life
00:23 without war, hate or violence and she is a beacon of hope to all those who would
00:27 find themselves in need. She stands as an equal among the most powerful
00:31 superheroes with a sense of purpose to protect the world from injustice in all
00:35 forms. Lucky for me she's not made out of clay. My studio lights would already
00:41 start to be melting her. Before we get a closer look at yet another Wonder Woman
00:45 from the Super Powers line, let me go ahead and first thank the folks over at
00:47 McFarlane Toys that did provide this sample as well as all the other Super
00:50 Powers figures we've been looking at as of late. I did say before because this is
00:55 the second technically second Wonder Woman we have gotten, this one clearly
00:58 looks to be more of classic colors, very more reminiscent of what we would have
01:02 got from the original Kenner line in the 80s. The Wonder Woman that we did have a
01:06 look at from before, which I will be bringing in for comparison's sake, has
01:09 more kind of modern colors similar in the way that the Batman that we first
01:13 got from that wave one had a more modern look to him and of course it was changed
01:18 later on with what I felt to be a better looking Batman. Talking way too much.
01:21 Let's grab first the tape measure of course and we'll see how tall the figure
01:25 stands and then we'll bring a couple for comparisons. Wonder Woman in this case
01:28 stands about four and a half inches in height. Yes she does. Or she's gonna be
01:31 about eleven and a half centimeters tall. Yeah, speaking of that other Wonder Woman,
01:37 let me just slide over the one that we're about to have a look at and bring
01:40 in the original one. Now it looks to be the case clearly that they have used, if
01:44 I can get my hand out of the way, she has a harder time to stand. It seems to be
01:48 the case clearly that McFarlane's team has used the mold again. It doesn't look
01:51 like they've necessarily retooled anything and though the face does look a
01:55 little bit different on this one, I think it's just more the case the way they've
01:58 actually colored the plastic. We're gonna do more closer comparisons of those two
02:02 figures in a second but in the meantime though let's bring in a couple other
02:05 figures. Here's what they look like with the Batman. Here's what they look like
02:08 with the Aquaman. Here's what they also look like with Robin and then just
02:12 recently we also had a look at Black Manta who by far is my favorite of the
02:17 wave at least we've gotten so far. Still though the only thing about looking at
02:21 this is the fact that we got a Wonder Woman like the wave before. I
02:25 think it may have been too soon already to get another one whether she's classic
02:29 colors or not. The molds aren't the only thing that gets shared between the two
02:35 figures as this Wonder Woman also comes in clue with a cape that's attached
02:38 around her neck. The other Wonder Woman we're bringing her in for right now was
02:42 the one we got from the previous wave or the wave before. This one actually did
02:45 have a red cape versus the blue cape that we're gonna be getting with this
02:48 version. The cape attaches the exact same way because literally it's gonna be the
02:52 exact same figure. I'm just gonna pick up the figure right now so you can see the
02:54 difference between the two. Likeness wise they're exactly the same. It is
03:00 probably more the case that they decided to go back to the drawing board when it
03:03 came to this girl's release and they decided in fact to release her in more
03:07 the classic kind of lighter reddish colors that she had with the original
03:11 Kenner release. In fact if you go back and look at the Kenner version of Wonder
03:15 Woman she kind of had more of a rosier color to the plastic which wasn't
03:18 clearly the case that they went with when they went with this Wonder Woman.
03:21 This one had kind of more of an olive skin tone but the capes are similar in
03:26 the sense that they're the exact same shape. They're similar in the sense that
03:29 they attach around the collar the exact same way but are clearly a
03:32 different type of cape. What I ended up doing though with this Wonder Woman in
03:36 that review I end up removing it altogether. The cape can be somewhat
03:40 successfully slid underneath her hair. It doesn't have... well it has the clip but it
03:44 doesn't seem as be as big as say for example Batman's or Superman's from
03:48 before. When it comes time to actually put the cape back on you sort of have to
03:51 shimmy the cape on either side of her shoulders kind of sliding up on the one
03:56 side then sliding up on the other till eventually get the cape underneath her
04:00 hair. The trade-off unfortunately by having a colored cape was the fact it
04:04 left behind a stain here on her shoulder. This Wonder Woman, though now having a
04:09 blue cape, doesn't seem to have a blue stain other than I got one little mark
04:13 right there but it seems like it's it's done a little bit better at least from
04:17 not bleeding maybe as much as the other Wonder Woman we looked at before. I don't
04:22 know if I will necessarily keep the cape on Wonder Woman although if you wanted
04:25 to remove it again it's just a case of sliding it underneath her hair like this
04:28 just take it off completely if you wanted to. Mold wise again let's go ahead
04:32 and just take off this one so you can see like the bodies are gonna be exactly
04:36 the same. The lower skirting is the same and the boots carries over from the
04:40 original one to this one here as well. The thing about it though is it's just
04:44 more of a matter of preference. Do you prefer to have your Wonder Woman look
04:46 more like the 80s version where again like she was more notably more of a
04:50 rosier colored plastic or if you prefer rather instead to have your Wonder Woman
04:55 look more like an olive skinned Wonder Woman yet the bodies are gonna be
04:58 exactly the same. I guess if I really wanted to have the figures set up on my
05:02 shelf like the way they look from the original Kenner line I probably would
05:06 lean more towards this one though to be honestly fair I think I actually like
05:10 the way that this one turned out a little bit more. Face sculpt wise the
05:14 eyes are in the exact same spot. The skin not only is the one thing that's
05:18 different but you can also see like her lipstick is brighter as well.
05:21 This one had a very dark burgundy this one has more of a brighter red. Tiaras are
05:26 also something that's a little bit brighter as well. Essentially everything
05:29 that's gold on this release gets now treated to yellow on this release so
05:33 like her tiara is yellow the top of her bodice for example is yellow she has
05:36 yellow on her gauntlets and yellow down below on her belt where all the original
05:40 one would have been gold. The one thing I don't really necessarily like is
05:44 the fact that the gauntlets aren't silver. I think one thing if they still
05:48 wanted to make this look like a classic WW Wonder Woman I think I much
05:52 rather would have had the the actual bracelets be silver rather than blue
05:57 they decide to go with instead. I mean if anything like the blue probably would
06:00 have worked better maybe with this version and then carried the silver over
06:03 to the classic colored Wonder Woman instead. This one also has the stars on
06:07 her lower trunks which would have been also the case with the original one
06:10 before and gold would have been on the original release whereas like with the
06:13 Kenner version she would have had actually more whites on the fronts of
06:16 her boots. So other than that it's essentially like the exact same figure
06:19 as before it's just a matter of which one you prefer a little bit more. The one
06:24 that looks a little bit more like the Kenner original toy or one that looks a
06:26 little bit more modern. I for me like the modern look of Wonder Woman but I think
06:30 when it comes to displaying this one say for example with the ones we've looked
06:33 at from this wave like the classic looking Caped Crusader like the Black
06:37 Manta I think I'm honestly leaning more to having this figure displayed and what
06:41 I might just end up doing is have a separate section on my shelf where I
06:45 might have then the modern looking Wonder Woman displayed with that
06:47 original Batman we got from wave one and maybe keep more the modern characters on
06:51 the one side then keep sort of the Kenner looking characters on the other.
06:54 So like she has a gripping hand on one side that doesn't change at all still no
06:59 lasso of truth gets included with this release. I would have liked if they
07:02 could have but I have now since gone to I think was Michaels and I got myself
07:06 some gold threading pretty easy to come by and I actually have the figure
07:10 displayed with the little gold threading to kind of make it look like the lasso
07:14 of truth. You probably could do something very similar also as well if you wanted
07:17 to but I will say to the credit of the McFarland's team I do like the brighter
07:20 colors approach here for Wonder Woman. I just kind of wish again like the
07:24 bracelets were silver not blue. For the figures articulation going back once
07:28 again to her head sculpt the hair is long so for that along obvious reasons
07:33 the hair is not going to be allowing the head to move too much. You can rotate it
07:37 fairly easy on this side although with this side you're gonna be brushing
07:40 against the tops of her shoulders and again you're just only gonna have
07:44 essentially seven points of articulation so you're gonna have head one two
07:48 obviously the shoulders three two and three four five and six and seven down
07:52 below there. So the arms do rotate back and forth they're obviously gonna be
07:56 hitting the hair so you're not gonna be able to get a full rotation from the
07:59 arms and there's no articulation either for the hands also. I mean like the legs
08:03 do move forward and back so there's that. They don't split out. These figures
08:07 aren't designed for that but there is still a knee joint on the knees there
08:11 for Wonder Woman so you can bend the knees there also as well if you
08:14 wanted to. Like the case before she does have very small feet so you may want to
08:19 use yourself a display stand a DC multiverse display stand which I just so
08:22 happen to have right here comes rather handy when it comes displaying at least
08:26 this Amazonian as then the figure is not gonna be falling over and again like
08:30 yeah you can display the figures in a little more of a dynamic pose I mean
08:34 again you're gonna be very limited when it comes to really what you can do with
08:37 them with only really having again seven points of articulation but you know again
08:41 like it's a nice-looking Wonder Woman it's just the question is is it worth
08:44 picking the figure up if you already have the one before and just to bring
08:48 back in the original one you see the difference between the two I you know
08:51 honestly if I had the choice to choose one I don't know I honestly like the
08:57 color scheme more for this Wonder Woman I like the darker skin myself and the
09:01 gold looks really good with the costume as well as the lower trunks being a more
09:04 darker blue than the lighter blue that we get but at the end of the day I
09:08 really do want to display these figures as if they look like they were from the
09:11 80s and if that was the case even though I like this one I think maybe if
09:16 anything I probably would end up displaying I know I sound like now a
09:18 hypocrite I really like this look at the Wonder Woman but from a purpose of us
09:21 from displaying the figures on the shelf looking like they were supposed to look
09:25 like the original Kenner line I honestly would be leaning more towards this one
09:29 it's just at the end of day a matter of preference I think for me what I had
09:32 mentioned already in this review is I'm probably gonna be segregating my two
09:36 superpowers collections now from McFarlane's team I'm gonna have like
09:39 this Wonder Woman the one that I think is the better of the two I'm gonna have
09:43 her display with the modern Batman for example maybe might even put that over
09:47 there also with the dark side even though I never have had the chance to
09:50 review the dark side here on this channel I might have those displayed and
09:53 then all the other figures I might end up displaying I might even just display
09:57 Nightwing maybe Nightwing with the modern Batman but I will end up
10:01 essentially having two groups on my shelf the more classic looking Kenner
10:05 looking figures which of course this Wonder Woman I feel fits better in and
10:08 then I'll have the modern display shelf with this version of Wonder Woman and
10:12 again all the other figures I've mentioned already one thing I do find
10:15 funny is that this is now the second Wonder Woman we've gotten from McFarlane's
10:18 team for the superpowers line and in both the cases I've removed the capes on
10:22 the figures I think the cape is a nice included touch but honestly I think the
10:27 cape takes a little away from Wonder Woman I suppose what you could do to
10:30 really differentiate these two characters a lot more is by maybe having
10:33 the character one Wonder Woman displayed with the cape one without or you could
10:37 also even swap the capes around I suppose if you wanted to also and use
10:41 the blue cape for the modern Wonder Woman and use the red cape for this one
10:44 it's entirely up to you for me at least the person behind the camera I'm just
10:48 gonna be doing away with the capes all together I'd rather have they use the
10:52 material for the capes instead and given us a lasso of truth now I've fixed the
10:57 problem I actually have like a little spool of gold thread so I could do
11:00 something very similar to this Wonder Woman that I did do with the other one
11:04 and just have her displayed with sort of a makeshift lasso of truth one thing I
11:08 did also want to correct myself in the review I did mention I didn't like that
11:11 she had the blue bracelets the actual in fact the original Kenner Wonder Woman
11:16 did have also blue bracelets the thing about it though is that the bracelets
11:20 were more literally bracelets and not like armbands because this of course
11:24 carries over the same mold as the original Wonder Woman it means it
11:27 carries over also a modernized suit and by now coloring it in the way that the
11:32 Kenner would have would have originally had their Wonder Woman it means that she
11:35 has instead of blue bracelets just sort of more arm guards and I don't know if I
11:40 like that as much I would have rather silver now even though silver would have
11:44 not been present on the original Wonder Woman from the Kenner days I think
11:47 silver I think would have worked better for this body than the longer blue bands
11:52 that she has instead what do you guys think of the figure let me know down
11:55 below in the comment section one thing also I wanted to ask you guys too is if
11:58 you already have the original Wonder Woman that we did get from before which
12:01 I think was like was it second wave second wave if you already have that
12:05 original one do you think there's enough changes cosmetically to this one to
12:09 justify getting this figure again let me know your thoughts of the figure down
12:13 below in the comment section once again a big thank you to the folks over at
12:15 McFarland toys that did provide this sample of the brand new newest wave of
12:20 Wonder Woman from the superpowers line not not the original one that had the
12:23 darker color scheme but more somewhat more reminiscent of the original Kenner
12:27 days were kind enough to provide the sample we could have a look in this
12:30 review speaking of reviews if you guys enjoyed the one that you just finished
12:33 watching why not hit with a like you guys are loving the content you guys are
12:35 seeing and certainly do want to stick around for more just an FYI we have
12:39 finished now we've wrapped up the wave of the figures at least but we are still
12:43 gonna be looking at the Batmobile and we are speaking of Wonder Woman gonna be
12:46 also looking at her invisible jet so if that's the kind of thing you guys would
12:49 like to stick around for more make sure yeah you're hitting that subscribe and
12:52 you're also turning on the Bell notification they always get those
12:55 reminders every single time the person behind the camera that's me is posting
12:59 up new content and of course as always guys thanks for watching see you guys
13:03 next time
