00:00when you think of the history of horror there's always a name that pops up
00:03here's a look at the brand new NECA toys Vincent price the ultimate action figure
00:30darkness falls across the land the merchant of menace is finally joining
00:42NECA's ultimates line a horror and camp icon with an unmistakable voice the
00:46incomparable Vincent price appeared in more than a hundred films during his
00:49lifetime however the master of horror wasn't just an actor of stage radio and
00:54screen he was also an art historian and a gourmet cook celebrate his unique
00:58legacy with a 7-inch scale ultimate Vincent price action figure it comes
01:02complete with three interchangeable heads and neckties to mix and match his
01:06iconic looks throughout the years I think when it comes to price no mere
01:10mortal can resist the evil of this figure and before we actually look at
01:14how evil the figure actually is I'd like to first send out a big thank you to the
01:17folks over at NECA that provided the sample we can have a look at Vincent
01:21price if you're interested is available right now in retail stores some sites
01:25though have this guy dropping in February but as we're getting already
01:28into February he should be start showing up soon there on those sites let's take
01:32though the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands we'll start first in
01:35inches as we always seem to do Vincent price seems to be exactly 7 inches in
01:39heights or about 18 centimeters tall as for other figures though sliding over
01:44Vincent price I'm gonna bring in a figure he happens to be borrowing the
01:47body from this is though the Christopher Lee Dracula from the horror of Dracula
01:52yes it's a figure we've already had a look at in this channel shared similar
01:56arms shared in fact identical legs even in fact they're using the exact same
02:00hands the only thing though that is different between price and Lee is that
02:05the jackets are differently sculpted now there's no debating at all that Vincent
02:08price contributed quite a lot to the genre of horror and NECA in turn has
02:13contributed quite a lot of accessories for this horror icon in fact the first
02:16thing that we'll have a look at though is that Vincent price came in clue with
02:19albums did you know in his spare time Vincent price was making albums more
02:23narration than anything else I think it started as early as 1973 or so but he
02:28had about five or six albums under his wings a lot of them in fact were
02:31readings of Edgar Allan Poe in fact you can see though while the albums are not
02:36separate from one another it's a nice little stack you can have displayed
02:39along with the figure they went as far as to put the details even on the back
02:42of the album to the figure also does come in clue with this book did you know
02:46that he also made a cooking book cooking price wise that's also the back
02:51of the book here's what the front of the book looks like and while you can't
02:53actually open it up I mean how cool is it that work we're even even having this
02:57discussion that Vincent price not only made a cookbook but that we're getting a
03:00figure from NECA and they included the cook the very same cookbook a nice little
03:04accompanying piece again you probably could put this in his hands if really
03:07you wanted to he also does come included with his tiny little cat nice little cat
03:12I actually had a cat it's very similar to this I've lost him about a year or so
03:16ago Tago my beautiful little black kitty but a nice little cute kitty there to be
03:21displayed I wouldn't be necessarily a lap cats first of all I don't think that
03:25Vincent price would be able to get in a seated position but also to that's a
03:28pretty flat bottom cat I don't think how well it would actually let's try that
03:31put Vincent price in a seated pose I mean we don't really have ourselves a
03:35chair can it be a lap cat not really not really but let's just put him that back
03:40down here for a second in the stand show you guys quickly again what the cat
03:44looks like I'm in a cat I'm a cat lover I don't want to spend the entire review
03:49talking about kitties I could though I could twist my rubber arm one thing
03:54that's also included pet wise is the figure comes also include with the Raven
03:57now the thing that's neat about the Raven those first of all it's a well
04:00detailed bird but if you look at the bottom of his talons how often do I get
04:05a chance to say talons and reviews you can see there's a peg right there and
04:08there's a peg just right next to that right there Vincent also does come in
04:12clue with a swappable arm so I know you're probably thinking yourself well
04:15how is that even possibly able to balance on his arm I mean you could try
04:18you could probably fail though but if you try to balance the bird on his arm
04:21you're not gonna have the most success you will though however though because
04:25NECA also includes a swappable arm for Vincent price if you look at the arm
04:29you'll see that there's two pegs here you did basically take those pegs we've
04:33talked about already and just line them up to the holes and fit them in place
04:37you don't really even have to succeed in getting both of them on there I find
04:41that even if you get one of them on there it even survives it survives the
04:45blizzard test I'll change it out the arm in a second I'll just kind of want to
04:49show you guys all the other things they figure also comes in clue with you want
04:52to see already with it okay fine let's let's take the arm so essentially you
04:56just take the arm here and just wiggle it off pop the post from the hole there
05:00also you want to make maybe remove the hand as well just take that off take the
05:05arm that also has the hole now I did do this at the beginning of this review
05:08when the figure was first rotating on the rotisserie I already had this arm in
05:12place just put the proper hand in place I mean you may not be you may not be an
05:16arm that you may always want to display with the figure because if you ever
05:18choose to take the bird off now he's got these weird-looking air holes that's
05:22where the arm can breathe but again like you basically just gonna take yourself I
05:26know we already looked at this you just take the Raven plug the Raven onto the
05:30holes provided and now you got yourself now watch I don't succeed at doing this
05:34now just take those holes take the provided pegs there we go all right and
05:39now the Raven is there with Vincent the figure also does come in clue now here's
05:44some small things obviously these are things that would fall into the
05:48territory of things most likely to be lost first the figure comes in clues of
05:52smokes he gets carefully carefully he gets himself four cigarettes I don't
05:59think he actually came in clue with five if he came with five I've already lost
06:02one but they seem all identical to one another it would be neat if they
06:06included one of the smokes like Wendy's cigar or cigarettes that she had in the
06:11shiny where that ash was just barely hanging on how many were so interested
06:15and invested to see that little ash fall on Wendy's cigarettes I can't be I'm
06:20sure the only one now you think here's helpful where is he gonna possibly hold
06:24this well he actually comes with two different hands he has first of all
06:28just grab the proper hands for he has this hand and he has this one here and
06:32they basically gonna hold the cigarette in two different ways so first of all
06:36you can take the cigarette and wedge it in between his fingers so you want to
06:39have him holding it like that you can also take it and wedge it in between his
06:43finger and his thumb sort of like he's having a conversation everybody's coming
06:47for cocktail hour and Vincent price is basically talking about his paintings he
06:50loved art also as well so there's that hand but if you want to take the same
06:54smoke he also comes in clear with this hand too and again you're just gonna
06:59take take it wedged in between the finger and you've got that way of
07:03displaying it as well well Wendy's ash the shining it's just one of my favorite
07:08scenes about that just so studying that ash hoping it was gonna fall off the
07:12cigarette and it never did anyways that's what basically looks like in his
07:16hand so you get four of those so if you lose one technically you got yourself
07:19some extra ones as well the figure also comes included with his I would say a
07:23candelabra but he does certainly come in clue with a candle the candle does
07:26have melted wax there on the top he does also have a flame there on the top I did
07:30don't notice though the flame was a little prickly on the top now you can
07:34take yourself as well a hand now you got actually comes include a couple of hands
07:38this hand will hold the candle fairly well I would say he does also come in
07:43clear with this hand too which isn't really that much different really so you
07:46could also take the candle and put in this hand too he also comes included I
07:50was going to show you guys the also the other hand so basically if you want to
07:52do everything that I just did on this side you can rinse and repeat it
07:56basically on this side instead he also comes included with a saucer and also a
08:01cup of tea I think it's a cup of tea it's clearly already full although it's
08:05not emitting any steam it'd be neat if they found a way to incorporate a little
08:08bit of like steam and translucent or frosted plastic but they chose not to do
08:12that you can take though the saucer take the little tiny teacup and put it on top
08:18just like that oh of course again you can also go back and revisit those hands
08:22let's say for example you take this hand and this is by the way this hand here
08:27and you basically just take the handle of that and just fit it around you can
08:32kind of even tuck it underneath the finger and he holds the teacup pretty
08:35well too some of the other things that also come in clear with Vincent price is
08:39a skull of course it comes in clue with a skull hello thank you for watching
08:44this video the the as you can see there's a hinge at the bottom of the jaw
08:47so it does open and close I don't know why looking at this it reminds me of
08:51Scooby-Doo which is funny enough that for me to say Scooby-Doo because Vincent
08:54price was also I don't think it was his voice but he was in the 13 ghosts of
08:57Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo this can also be held in his hands technically with the
09:02hand he already has right now you could take yourself the skull and just kind of
09:06wedge it right there kind of just tuck sort of the cheekbone underneath the
09:10thumb and he holds it pretty okay pretty okay I wouldn't I wouldn't necessarily
09:15do the blizzard test because no it's gonna fall on the floor but he holds the
09:18skull pretty good the last things though that come in clue with Vincent
09:22and involve two other interchangeable heads that aren't currently being
09:25featured right now I chose to want to start with more the younger looking
09:29Vincent price before we kind of be lined it over to other ones sort of kind of
09:32progressively ages as the head sculpts we look at but the thing that's also
09:36really neat about it is that neck is and I think this is the first time that
09:39they've done it incorporated swappable interchangeable colors what yeah so if
09:44you're looking at the color right now he's got himself the little scarf there
09:47on the top but he also has a regular tie and he also comes with a bowtie to
09:54do any one of these things by the way I guess first of all we'll kind of look at
09:57his regular head sculpt here so I would imagine this to be probably the youngest
10:02looking Vincent price then we've got one that's a little bit older I would
10:05probably say that this is my favorite of the three I do like these giving you
10:08side eyes suspicious side eye but again like you just change that one out so
10:14he's got this one hold on to everything here he's got this one he's got this one
10:18and then he's also got himself an older Vincent price which looking at this one
10:21it reminds me of the appearance that he had on the Joan Rivers show or I think
10:24she was filling in for Johnny Carson but he basically recreated a thriller
10:28narrative it also kind of reminds me too of Vincent price from Edward Scissorhands
10:32it's a little bit older in that movie as well so pick your poison he has three
10:36different heads to choose from but I know you guys did want to see what the
10:38color looks like so what we'll do first is just first of all show you guys what
10:42that head looks like really good likenesses on all the three and we'll
10:47just pop the head off that we want to remove just attach it from the ball
10:51joint wasn't so hard doing this earlier there we go and then kind of get in
10:56there you kind of have to peel the jacket collar away from itself and get
10:59in there and pull the collar the inside shirt out now if you're having a hard
11:03time doing this I got myself like a little lifting tool here this is part of
11:07my clippers here just kind of get it under there kind of just you don't want
11:10to do anything sharp obviously because you don't want to do damage to it but I
11:13find if you just take yourself something flat like this and tuck it under on one
11:17side and help just to lift the collar of the shirt up and basically just peel
11:21that up like that so again once now we've removed this let's take I kind of
11:26actually like the tie one honestly so you can either have obviously the tie
11:30out but let's just tuck everything in so when you're putting it back in tuck it
11:35it's sort of in on an angle first slide it as far down as you can get it before
11:38then you have to wrap it around the neck and just do it like that make sure we
11:43straighten everything up make them look nice and presentable there we go and you
11:49would just do that if you want to do it with the bowtie or again if you want to
11:53just stick with the one that comes out of the packaging with it would work the
11:55exact same way personally though I like the tie myself but again you can choose
12:00the three if you want now let's go back to the head that we want to use so again
12:04we've already looked at this one slightly younger from the three at least
12:08I've already said like I really like the side I Vincent price and again we'll
12:12just kind of pop that onto the ball joint technically though it is the head
12:15scope that comes with the figure when you first get mad at the packaging but
12:18again if you choose to want to go with the older look to Vincent so tempted I
12:21am to get actually a couple of wanted a couple more of these so I can have the
12:24figure displayed in all the three head sculpts I think the old likeness of him
12:27just looks it looks just as good as the younger ones do a little bit more gray
12:31happens to all of us just such a gorgeous likeness of Vincent price but
12:36we'll stick with at least this head sculpt here we'll look at obviously the
12:38rest of the figures body so he's got himself a little handkerchief there I
12:41already brought back in we'll bring back in the Christopher Lee Dracula so clearly
12:46though the jacket is different from one another but you can start to see that
12:50there's a lot of similarities so like the top bicep here are identical the
12:54lower sleeves although this one has air holes now they would normally have been
12:57the exact same and of course when you look at the legs I think even though they
13:01footwear the footwear is also matching the same too it's not a bad thing at all
13:05I don't think it necessarily takes takes anything away from it the fact they're
13:08using similar molds the fact that again we're even having this conversation
13:12about having a Vincent price release from NECA I don't mind at all use as
13:15many remolds as you can if we get figures that look this good for the
13:20figures articulation though Vincent price is gonna be in a ball joint so the
13:23head rotates all the way around the head can look down and look up about that high
13:28and you can also rock it back and forth as well as for the arms they do rotate
13:32all the way around you can hinge them out at 90 degrees or T pose the figure
13:36does have a bend in the elbow now I noticed with the elbow here on the one
13:40that has the air holes a little harder to bend this one though on the other
13:43side didn't give me any issues at all and if I don't plan to have the figure
13:47display with the Raven probably just gonna have the figure displayed with a
13:50regular arm anyway so having this too tight like this isn't gonna be an issue
13:54because essentially it's just gonna go back in the packaging hands rotate all
13:57the way around they hinge back and forth again we've got the same hands
14:00used for the horror of Dracula upper torso is gonna be on a bulge right the
14:03jacket after all is using softer plastic got the splits on the legs the legs go
14:08forward the legs go back swivel there at the top of the thigh single hinge for
14:12the knee only a rotation on the lower leg up and down ankle pivots you've got
14:17your rocker there as well and Vincent price does have peg holes on the bums of
14:21his feet in the end though I mean again like a Vincent price figure how how
14:25lucky are we as collectors that we even have a Vincent price figure I'm just
14:29kind of moving off to the side still though while he is using a lot of the
14:32same mold though as the horror of Dracula just think though I mean again
14:36we've got ourselves a Christopher Lee Dracula finally we've got ourselves a
14:40Vincent price finally and the fact that they gave us as much as they did with
14:44Vincent the fact that we have ourselves two different types of colors not
14:47counting of course the tie that he has right now we've got three different
14:50head sculpts from his various ages over the years and the fact that we even have
14:54ourselves albums and his cookbook nice little added accessories courtesy of the
14:59folks over at NECA prim and proper that's the look that I'm going with
15:02with Vincent price on my shelf easily I could have gone with the skull the Raven
15:06on his arm or even a candle in his hand but I chose in the end I think if he's
15:09doing scary things and saying scary things I'd like to think that Vincent
15:13price is just relaxing at the end of the day in his living room with a cup of
15:16Earl Grey of course not that far away from him is his tiny little black kitty
15:20well not being a lounge cat I mean at least he's a cat that likes to sit near
15:24by his feet when the figure is of course using a lot of the same body
15:27elements as the whore of Dracula we've already had a look at you'd like to
15:31think at least that NECA could it give some extra things for this figure because
15:34you got to think like budget-wise they've already put a lot into the
15:36tooling of the legs and the arms that there's a lot less from a cost
15:40standpoint of what they need to do with the molds so then they gave us an
15:43abundance of all the other things that come with this figure but one of my
15:45favorite things about it is not only that you have two other alternate
15:48superior head sculpts I mean all the three heads are so good on Vincent price
15:51here but that he also has a new idea and created for this figure swappable
15:55collars I'm sure this is an idea that could lend further past the point of
15:59Vincent price and could maybe even introduce into other characters that
16:02they've released as well instead of having to worry about a jacket every
16:05single time Reese sculpting and remolding one from scratch if it's a
16:09very similar style of jacket just retool a brand new collar piece that would sit
16:13inside I love that idea and I think it's the first time that we've gotten it we
16:17are with Vincent price in the end again like while he's still using a lot of the
16:21same body as Christopher Lee there's enough new ideas that go into Vincent
16:24price so good of a head sculpt also that it would be a shame if you're a fan of
16:29the Vincent price himself that you would want to pass on this figure the good
16:32news though is that at least he's available right now in retail stores you
16:36may have to wait though a little bit while or maybe by the time that this
16:38video then goes online I think actually online sites have this guy showing as a
16:42drop in February 2025 if you're looking at even a calendar even though mine's a
16:46little out of date we're into February right now so he should start to show up
16:50soon if you're going to the route of ordering him through an online market in
16:54the end though I'd like to thank the folks over at NECA toys that did provide
16:56this sample the brand new ultimate Vincent price what a wonderful figure
17:00that we had the chance to have a look at this review let me know down below in
17:03the comment section what you guys think of this let me also know too what was
17:06your first introduction to Vincent price you would think there would be horror at
17:10least for me and I guess to some extent it was the first introduction I had to
17:13Vincent price was actually egghead from the 60s Batman series also I was also a
17:19big fan of the hilarious house of frighten Stein what's that look it up
17:22online he was actually provided the narration and he did some poetry also
17:27throughout little individual skits I think when he did his recording he
17:30probably did it over the span of a day but then they just sort of stretched it
17:33out through the entire series run of hilarious house of frighten Stein I
17:38don't know if we're ever gonna get a hilarious house of frighten Stein
17:40figures from NECA toys but hey you never know that might be a possibility down
17:43the road if you guys did enjoy this video you can do it a song throw it a
17:46like you guys wanna stick around for more so I hope so hit that subscribe
17:49turn on that Bell and of course come back as always thanks for watching see
17:54you guys next time
