00:00 and that means what Taylor?
00:04 - It means that we're here.
00:08 - It means we're here.
00:10 A long day as you can tell.
00:11 Taylor's in the Meadowlands right now at MetLife Stadium.
00:15 People are packing up around him
00:16 so you may see some activity there
00:17 as people are trying to literally sweep him
00:20 out of the press box area.
00:22 But the Patriots win, ugly.
00:25 But a win is a win is a win.
00:29 So we'll talk about that
00:30 and we'll get into the offensive performance,
00:33 which again, I still think three games in
00:36 is a real big question mark.
00:38 Defense again, looks solid.
00:41 This wasn't just Zach Wilson is bad.
00:43 This was also, had something to do
00:45 with the Patriots defense.
00:47 And just kind of get your take, Taylor,
00:48 on what do you think actually happened here
00:52 on the field here where the Patriots again
00:54 win 15 to 10 over the Jets without Aaron Rodgers,
00:59 with a Zach Wilson led team.
01:02 And Zach Wilson is just an automatic W for the Patriots.
01:06 And you know that's gonna happen.
01:07 I wouldn't say they sweated it out,
01:10 but they didn't really put it away.
01:11 So let's just start on the offense, okay?
01:14 Jets have a good defense, we know it.
01:17 But still,
01:26 obviously just a real inability
01:28 to get anything going down the field.
01:30 It stays there.
01:31 Obviously the Jets can cover.
01:33 Jets have a good front.
01:34 I was impressed that the Patriots were able to run the ball.
01:36 I mean, let's just say their commitment to the run.
01:39 It wasn't incredible, but they ran the ball 40 times.
01:43 They really went for it.
01:44 But the passing offense again, just kind of sputtering.
01:46 And again, 15 points.
01:48 Belbelichick said it himself in the post game, Taylor.
01:50 15 points isn't gonna get it done most weeks.
01:55 I'm glad he acknowledged it,
01:56 'cause I kind of felt like a jerk going downstairs.
01:59 Like at first we heard from David Andrews,
02:00 who fairly credited the offensive line.
02:03 They didn't allow a sack.
02:05 They ran for 150 yards.
02:06 Like they answered two big question marks.
02:08 We were saying, okay, they can't pass protect,
02:10 and they can't run the ball, they can't find balance.
02:13 And they did those two things,
02:14 and they're I think the only things
02:15 that really kept them in the game.
02:16 Yeah.
02:17 And that was clearly something they wanted to do,
02:19 'cause they kept coming out in two and three tight end sets,
02:21 sometimes using Pharaoh Brown,
02:23 but pretty often using Pharaoh Brown as a fullback
02:25 to kind of diversify what they were able to do.
02:28 And we saw that really be the lifeblood of the offense.
02:31 But the offensive line was really the only,
02:35 yes, that's awesome.
02:37 We found some continuity, let's go.
02:39 But other than that, man,
02:40 I thought that the downfield passing game,
02:42 I tweeted that I wasn't sure what went wrong exactly,
02:45 because this is the second of three games
02:48 where they played in really bad weather.
02:49 So you can't discount the fact that it is harder
02:51 to throw downfield in those conditions.
02:53 There were also times where it just seemed
02:54 like the chemistry was so off,
02:56 I didn't know who was at fault.
02:57 But at the same time,
02:59 Matt Jones was throwing a few uncatchable passes.
03:01 There were two to DeMario Douglas
03:03 that I think should have been penalties.
03:04 Like the refs were really keeping flags in their pockets
03:06 for some reason on a few plays.
03:08 But it really killed them,
03:10 especially when they were third down in manageable situations
03:13 where they could have gone to the sticks
03:14 or just shy of the sticks, maybe gotten something.
03:17 And then instead you see them take a shot
03:18 that's not even close.
03:19 Like that kept killing them on third downs.
03:21 You had some big conversions,
03:23 and then you also had penalties.
03:24 Like there was a one drive,
03:25 you had three penalties on a three play drive.
03:28 You had the one for too many men on the field
03:30 where they got bailed out with a really impressive
03:32 albeit completion of Devante Parker along the sideline.
03:35 And then Cole Strange had a holding earlier in the game
03:38 that ended up contributing to them having to punt.
03:41 So they didn't turn the ball over.
03:43 That was huge.
03:44 And I think that's a big reason they won the game.
03:46 'Cause I'm sure if one of those drives
03:48 ended in a penalty and gave New York some momentum
03:50 for a better field position,
03:51 this game might've gone a bit differently.
03:53 So there were big, big, good things to take away.
03:56 Again, turnovers, offensive line play,
03:58 but the downfield passing game being non-existent
04:00 was really scary.
04:02 And we'll see if it is a product of the elements,
04:06 if it really is just the execution.
04:08 'Cause next week they play in a dome,
04:09 so there's not gonna be any excuses.
04:11 - Yeah, I mean, look,
04:15 I don't know how long we're gonna keep
04:18 treating this with kid gloves.
04:21 They don't have dynamic receivers that can get separation
04:25 and get open downfield.
04:27 It's going to be a problem all year.
04:28 - DeMario.
04:29 - I mean, DeMario, fine.
04:30 But again, they're so in love with DeMario
04:33 that after benching him last week,
04:35 he played 18 snaps this week.
04:37 So again, not really in their game plan.
04:39 Obviously running the ball was in their game plan today.
04:41 I think the snap count, amazingly,
04:44 Juju Smith-Schuster leads them in snaps
04:47 with 54, Parker 52, Parker born 38, Douglas 19.
04:52 When Douglas was out there, they threw.
04:54 He ran 13 routes and 19 snaps.
04:56 Juju ran only 20 routes in his 54 snaps.
05:00 So he was out there a lot when they were running the ball.
05:03 But there's just not much going on.
05:07 And again, we don't know what you're gonna get
05:09 out of Taequann Thornton
05:10 when he comes back off the pup there,
05:11 but certainly someone who can at least
05:14 threaten the defense with his speed.
05:15 I think, you know, maybe that changes things a little bit,
05:19 but you've got Parker, a 50/50 guy,
05:21 born who had a couple of nice plays.
05:23 One time he was able to shake sauce and get a first down
05:26 and make some plays.
05:27 And he can do that from time to time.
05:29 Juju Smith-Schuster is a net negative at this point,
05:32 just in terms of the passing offense, what he's doing.
05:34 He's not doing anything.
05:35 So, right.
05:36 And you've got tight ends who are not.
05:38 I mean, again, you've got a Farrow Brown,
05:40 58 yard touchdown and Hunter Henry,
05:42 who's your kind of security blanket.
05:44 Neither one of these guys is striking fear
05:47 into opponent's hearts.
05:48 So Patriots don't have anyone you have to game plan for
05:50 at this point.
05:51 So they have to be smart.
05:52 They have to have good design.
05:54 They have to have good execution.
05:55 You got to rely on max timing and his accuracy
05:58 in order to be able to get things out.
06:00 But again, it's always kind of,
06:02 this is, I think what we're gonna have to deal with
06:04 with this offense, which is again, why the running game,
06:06 I think Taylor was so important today,
06:08 is if you're gonna dink and dunk your way down the field,
06:11 you gotta be able to run the ball a little bit.
06:14 Yeah.
06:15 In order to soften the defense up some,
06:17 so you might hit a play or two down the field.
06:19 But again, really nothing going down field,
06:22 you know, at this point, just looking at Mac,
06:25 how do you think Mac did?
06:27 You mentioned he threw a couple away, you know,
06:30 and I don't know if it's just simply,
06:32 there was just guys who were just too covered
06:34 or there's just certain times
06:35 he could have thrown a better ball.
06:37 Yeah, the downfield stuff, I gotta say for the,
06:40 you know, film breakdown, so I can see definitively
06:42 what he was seeing with the whole field.
06:44 But at the same time, I thought that,
06:46 like I've been saying that Mac,
06:47 especially in situational football, has been pretty good.
06:49 He's had like three moments where he's hesitated
06:51 in pretty big moments, and I think it cost them a bit,
06:54 but I think he's been a net positive.
06:56 This was the first game where I can't really say
06:58 that like Mac Jones is the reason that he played well.
07:00 It was the offensive line, it was the run game
07:02 and the threat of the run game
07:03 take a lot of pressure off him.
07:05 I would probably give him like a C- today.
07:08 Like he made some throws he needed to make.
07:10 There were a couple of throws that were pretty scary.
07:12 There was the one screen, third and 15.
07:14 They've gotta stop with the third and like extra long screens
07:18 'cause defenses keep snipping them out.
07:19 And this is the second time this season
07:21 that he's almost been intercepted on one of those.
07:23 Maybe if you look at it again,
07:24 I know Quentin Williams got a hand on it.
07:26 I'm not sure how interceptable it was,
07:28 but it was a scary play.
07:29 And then there was the one to Hunter Henry
07:31 where I will say it was really a good defensive play
07:33 'cause I think they, I knew what was coming
07:34 when I saw the formation when Hunter Henry split out
07:37 into a stack, but that was another one
07:38 where it seemed like a really close call.
07:41 So yeah, I thought he made the throws
07:42 that he needed to make and that were there.
07:46 But I thought some of the other ones
07:47 that could have put the offense in position to do better
07:50 and move the chains, I thought he missed on.
07:52 So I would say like a generous C-
07:54 just based on the initial watch.
07:55 - Wow.
07:56 And Taylor will dig deeper into the film
07:58 and give a more honest look.
08:01 But yeah, it felt like this wasn't a great,
08:04 a great Mac game really.
08:07 And again, it's just, you know, I don't know what to feel.
08:11 Like you've got, you stack up these three games, Taylor.
08:15 You got the moral victory against Philly
08:17 where that was better than anybody expected
08:19 and you were competitive against a team
08:21 that's considered, you know, a top four team
08:23 in the entire NFL and a legit Superbowl contender.
08:26 And then you- - And dolphins.
08:29 - And then the dolphins who, what's funny is
08:32 you're pretty disappointed about what happened
08:34 against Miami last week.
08:35 Then you see what they did today and you're like, okay,
08:38 you know, we did all right here, I think.
08:42 But the common denominator through all of this
08:44 is the offense's inability to put points on the board,
08:47 which means your defense is gonna have to be near perfect
08:50 and you can't turn the ball over ever.
08:52 The margin of error this team is playing with
08:54 because they just don't have the offensive personnel
08:58 to do what they need to do is a challenge.
09:01 Like that's going, I don't know when it gets better
09:04 or if it gets better.
09:05 - It's still so early, man.
09:09 And- - It is.
09:11 I'm throwing it out to you.
09:13 - But there is reason for concern.
09:15 I think that's fair.
09:16 - I'm not doing like a victory lap at all over it.
09:21 I think a lot of people felt the way I felt coming in.
09:24 I'm telling you, can you find a way,
09:26 is there anything you see that gives you some hope
09:29 or some thought, you know,
09:31 they can still figure some things out
09:32 and be a little bit more, you know, if not explosive,
09:36 just be a little bit more dangerous than they are right now
09:39 because they really don't look like a difficult team
09:41 to defend.
09:42 - I think the offensive line and the ground game,
09:44 like that's the thing, it stinks
09:45 because like Mac Jones didn't play well,
09:47 but they won this game when Mac and the passing offense
09:51 didn't play particularly well on the strength of their line
09:53 and the run game.
09:54 Like, I think that's huge.
09:55 Like you said, that's gotta be the difference maker
09:57 where if you're gonna have an offense
09:58 that dinks and dunks down the field,
10:00 you gotta be able to do it in a different way
10:02 and be able to have them respect you running the ball.
10:04 I think that's a massive step in the right direction
10:07 because that was something that scared me.
10:08 It's like, if you have bad offensive line play,
10:10 nothing else matters
10:11 'cause you're not gonna have time,
10:12 even if guys are getting open
10:13 and you can't just keep throwing things quick
10:15 because then defenses are smart
10:17 and they'll be able to figure you out.
10:18 So, and beyond that,
10:19 I do think there's a lot more potential
10:21 with DeMario Douglas than we've seen.
10:24 I think even like Kendrick Bourne,
10:25 we've seen him getting open downfield.
10:27 It's not like he's blanketed every time.
10:29 Like, he's got some good reps.
10:31 It's just the connection hasn't been there.
10:33 And again, it's been two bad weather games.
10:35 So you say, all right,
10:36 like I wanna give them some benefit of the doubt,
10:38 but that's why, like this week,
10:40 I've been saying was big for the offensive line.
10:42 Like you have, you've got Trent Brown back.
10:44 It was the healthiest they'd been in a long time.
10:45 You had to prove that.
10:46 Now next week, it's okay.
10:48 No excuses.
10:49 You're in a dome.
10:50 You've got a healthy offensive line.
10:51 You've seen plenty of reps of what you did poorly
10:54 trying to go downfield in this game specifically.
10:57 Before I thought it was more execution,
10:58 like receivers weren't catching passes
11:00 that they should have caught.
11:01 This was one where it's just like,
11:02 everything's out of whack.
11:04 Next week, if you could put something together,
11:06 then, you know, it's a step in the right direction.
11:08 But I agree that it's not looking good right now.
11:10 - You know what it's starting to feel like
11:12 based on what they're doing and what I'm seeing now
11:14 with just, you know, and again, it wasn't,
11:17 but just the three tight end sets, you know,
11:20 a lot of two tight end and the way they're doing
11:23 running the ball 40 times today.
11:24 This feels like, this feels like the Cam Newton season
11:28 where we're not gonna do anything real on offense,
11:31 but let's just keep it.
11:33 Let's keep a ball control offense.
11:35 Let's be smart.
11:36 Let's see if we can bully a little bit.
11:38 Let's see if we can pound the ball
11:39 and just make smart plays and just keep it together
11:43 and then hope that our defense will keep us in games.
11:45 But I feel like the white flag has already been waved
11:48 on this offense in terms of what they think
11:50 it can do, 'cause what's gonna happen is the kids,
11:53 people at home are gonna start clamoring for the kids.
11:56 What bugs me a little bit here is the thing
11:57 that you just said, Taylor, is yeah, maybe there's hope.
12:01 And that hope is in the, here's why there's hope.
12:04 And it's Demario Douglas, Taekwon Thornton,
12:07 maybe Kayshan Butte, not because they're necessarily better
12:11 than the guys you have running out here,
12:12 but you're pretty certain you know what those guys have.
12:15 So if there's going to be anything to open up this game,
12:18 it's gonna be the more athletic, more explosive,
12:20 younger playmakers that you have to give opportunities to.
12:24 But I don't think Bill does that.
12:26 I think Bill likes to play it safe with his veterans.
12:29 We've seen that time and again,
12:31 so I don't know that you're gonna get those guys.
12:33 The fact that Douglas, fine, he got benched last week
12:37 when he was mixing in early
12:39 and it looked like he might have a role.
12:40 I thought for sure they were gonna come back
12:42 and fold him into some more plays.
12:44 He was barely on the field at all here
12:46 and they clearly had decided what they were gonna do
12:48 and it didn't really involve him in this game.
12:50 And I get it against Zach Wilson.
12:51 - That was a game plan.
12:52 - I get it here.
12:53 - That was a game plan.
12:54 - All you're trying to do is not lose it on offense
12:57 against the Zach Wilson-led Jets team.
12:59 So it's a different game plan.
13:00 Maybe they'll view it a little differently
13:02 next week against the Cowboys, I'm not sure.
13:04 - Yeah, I think, I just don't think
13:07 that if they keep sputtering like this
13:08 and there's nothing happening,
13:09 like at the same time, like relying on young players
13:13 isn't always great because they have to prove it in practice
13:15 like if DeMarco Douglas is having good days in practice
13:18 and he's producing, then they'll put him on the field more.
13:20 And I think they still want to.
13:22 This was clearly just a very run heavy game plan.
13:24 There were times there was only one,
13:25 maybe two receivers on the field.
13:27 So I think that's a big reason
13:28 why you didn't see as much DeMario.
13:30 But one thing I will say is Juju
13:32 has been a significant disappointment.
13:34 And I think it is the knee because looking like
13:36 he had a thousand yards last year.
13:38 You could say it's Patrick Holmes.
13:39 I don't care who's throwing me the ball.
13:41 He had a thousand yards last season.
13:43 Before camp, I was expecting, okay,
13:45 he's going to be a yak guy.
13:46 He's going to be a chain mover.
13:47 If they flex him out,
13:48 he's shown that he can win some one-on-one matchups
13:50 with the back shoulder fades like you see from Hopkins.
13:53 In camp, I lowered those expectations
13:55 because it was like, all right,
13:56 he's not catching a lot of passes.
13:57 And when he does, it's usually over the middle
13:59 of short stuff, like, all right,
14:01 manage expectations for Juju.
14:02 I get it.
14:03 At least he'll be a consistent,
14:04 reliable chain moving kind of guy.
14:07 But what we're seeing now is like,
14:08 he doesn't really contribute consistently
14:10 in any facet of the game.
14:11 And that's where maybe I was wrong,
14:13 but also he doesn't look like the same player
14:15 that we saw last season.
14:16 I think that's been huge where Kendrick Bourne,
14:18 you were hoping, took a step forward.
14:20 Devontae Parker, you're hoping, becomes a big play threat.
14:22 And I was surprised he didn't get
14:23 more opportunities downfield.
14:25 That was kind of weird to me,
14:26 considering Mack was doing that for a lot of people.
14:29 He had the one, and I'm not sure if he stopped running.
14:30 I heard people saying that, or if it was just a bad ball.
14:33 But yeah, I think it's like,
14:35 your veterans are disappointing.
14:37 Devontae Parker was their best deep play threat,
14:39 and he hasn't done any of that.
14:40 Kendrick Bourne has flashed so many times
14:42 that he can make crazy plays downfield.
14:45 He hasn't done that consistently,
14:47 or in the past couple of weeks, really.
14:49 And then again, Juju is not really doing much of anything,
14:52 and even getting called for a bad penalty on a block
14:55 that helped contribute to a sputtering drive early on.
14:58 So, yeah, we have to rely on the young guys,
15:00 but the veterans need to step up
15:02 and do what they've been expected to do.
15:03 That's why I was confident that this would be
15:06 at least a top 12 offense that didn't make mistakes.
15:09 But fewer mistakes today, but the execution wasn't good.
15:12 - Let me ask you this.
15:13 Where would you, on a scale of one to 10,
15:15 where was your optimism level after the Eagles game,
15:18 after the Dolphins game, and after this game?
15:20 Is this the lowest you've felt about this team?
15:23 - For sure, for sure.
15:23 I would say, I mean, it's mixed.
15:25 - And it's weird, right?
15:27 The win?
15:28 - Yeah, it's weird.
15:29 - Someone in the chat called this a moral loss.
15:31 You know, you got your moral victory.
15:33 It's the opposite.
15:34 It's the, it's the, and again,
15:37 I see somebody else saying in the chat,
15:38 like, guys, they moved the ball enough to win.
15:40 That's all you need to do against the team.
15:42 Sure, but you gave the Jets the ball back three times
15:45 with a chance to win the game, you know,
15:47 in the fourth quarter.
15:48 That's not great.
15:49 Like, you're just, you couldn't even get first downs
15:52 to ice the game, let alone put the points on
15:54 to create separation.
15:55 So, uh-oh.
15:57 - Okay, I'll be honest with you, thank you.
16:00 - We have to wrap it up soon.
16:01 I'll let you answer here, Taylor.
16:03 We're gonna do a couple of sponsors here.
16:04 - Let's go quick, yeah.
16:05 Sponsors, then we'll talk quick defense.
16:07 - I don't want you getting tossed, yeah.
16:11 - So yeah, so that's what you would say,
16:13 is this was the worst feeling after the three,
16:15 because you were hoping that with the gifts
16:18 you're gonna get from the Jets not being able to move it,
16:20 you'd be able to do a little bit more.
16:21 But we'll get into that in a little bit.
16:24 And we're gonna talk about the defense as well.
16:26 Really quickly, we gotta pay some bills
16:28 and we gotta tell you guys about our sponsors here.
16:32 Of course, everybody at this point knows about FanDuel,

17:51 Once again, OddsR.com/presspass.
17:57 30 days of smart betting free.
18:01 We would call that a winning bet.
18:03 Now, get into the defense here.
18:05 Again, it's almost like how much can you learn
18:07 about the offense like in the preseason
18:09 when the O-line was gone and blah, blah, blah
18:11 and this and that.
18:12 How much can you know about the defense
18:14 when you're facing Zach Wilson and the Jets?
18:16 - Yeah, I'm gonna be quick so I don't get in trouble.
18:18 I think the defense-- - You're not getting in trouble.
18:21 - I think the defense did what they set out to do.
18:22 Like they came out in an actual base personnel grouping
18:26 where they had three down linemen
18:27 and four actual linebackers.
18:28 Usually it's Marte Mapu who's that fourth,
18:30 but we all know he's a safety that they call a linebacker
18:33 'cause you don't put linebackers
18:34 in the deep middle of the field.
18:36 But this week we saw Heon White and Anthony Jennings
18:39 who hadn't been active all season
18:40 and we saw Jelani Tsevai and Jawan Bentley in the middle.
18:45 They clearly wanted to stop the run.
18:47 Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall both had 18 rushing yards,
18:50 which is pretty insane,
18:52 even considering they're one dimensional
18:54 on offense for the Jets.
18:55 Zach Wilson was sacked three times.
18:57 They had gave up the one long touchdown run.
19:00 They put a cap on the offense the entire rest of the game.
19:03 So I think Gonzalez,
19:04 his work that we saw against Garrett Wilson
19:06 was locking him down.
19:07 I think the biggest takeaway is that,
19:09 is that the one good offensive player they had
19:12 who was not behind the offensive line,
19:14 which the Jets offensive line struggled today
19:16 against the Patriots front, which was expected.
19:18 I thought Christian Gonzalez did really well
19:20 against last year's offensive rookie of the year.
19:22 - I believe Romo at one point already anointed Gonzalez
19:25 as one of the best quarters in the NFL right now.
19:29 Are we a little premature on that?
19:31 - They did it with Slaus.
19:32 They did it with Patrick Zertan.
19:34 Like, yeah, if you are good
19:36 and you're not giving up big plays for the first few weeks,
19:38 then like, yeah, they're gonna say that every year.
19:40 - Okay.
19:41 - But it's also true.
19:41 I don't think it's,
19:42 'cause he's had some pretty insane tests
19:44 the first three weeks
19:45 and he's come out with flying colors for the most part.
19:47 So I do think it's pretty fair that he's getting praise,
19:52 but like, you know,
19:53 let's maybe wait a little bit longer before we go that far.
19:56 But you know, he has played fantastic football.
19:58 - And they needed it
19:59 'cause you're down every single Jones today.
20:01 And that was, you know,
20:03 that's something that, you know,
20:04 you definitely had some problems in the secondary.
20:06 I wanna quickly ask about Zeke.
20:08 I know they ran the ball hard here.
20:09 Were you surprised seeing the split
20:12 that you got out of this game with Raimondi?
20:16 Again, Raimondi is out there a lot more.
20:18 He was out there.
20:19 He's more of the passing down guy.
20:20 He still was out there nearly two to one in terms of snaps,
20:24 but in terms of carries, 1960,
20:26 and they brought in Zeke to pound the rock
20:28 specifically here in this game.
20:30 - Yeah, and I thought that, you know,
20:32 Madre again, like he has a big workload.
20:33 I think that played a big part of it,
20:35 but I thought it was good to see, you know,
20:36 people have been asking,
20:37 "Is Zeke, does he have his legs?
20:38 Is he still, you know?"
20:39 He's not the same player, obviously,
20:41 but he's showed that he could still be very effective.
20:43 He's been pretty good on toss plays consistently
20:45 this season.
20:46 And we also saw that he can get the tough yards inside
20:49 and the offensive line did a great job getting pushed.
20:50 So yeah, I thought this was kind of performance
20:52 you wanted to see from him
20:53 if they were gonna go ground heavy.
20:55 The Patriots were fighting for every single yard they got,
20:57 and he managed five yards a pop,
20:58 which I thought was impressive
20:59 'cause Madre got 3.9,
21:01 and he clawed and scratched for every single one of those.
21:05 - Yeah, there wasn't a lot of room there, you know,
21:08 and there wasn't great,
21:09 but Zeke ran with a little more burst.
21:10 A lot of people thought he looked slower
21:13 past the first couple of weeks,
21:15 and he definitely had a little bit more,
21:17 little more pep in his step today.
21:19 And he's got the Zeke revenge game next week
21:21 against the Cowboys.
21:22 We'll preview that quick in one second,
21:24 but I did wanna talk about something that happened
21:26 outside of MetLife here,
21:29 and that's the freaking Dolphins
21:31 putting up 70 freaking points on the freaking Broncos,
21:34 and Sean Payton, I don't know
21:37 what he's gotten himself into here.
21:39 NFL record, 726 yards of offense.
21:43 You had running backs go for 350 yards
21:47 in eight touchdowns between the two running backs there.
21:52 This was incredible,
21:55 and all of a sudden, the Patriots, you know,
21:59 allowing the Dolphins to, you know,
22:00 have a couple successful drives to start the game last week
22:03 and then play them pretty well the rest of the time
22:05 actually looks pretty good now.
22:07 - Yeah, man, that's ridiculous.
22:09 These are like, I've never put up those numbers in that
22:12 at any point in my life.
22:13 Those are insane.
22:14 Yeah, I think this Patriots defense is better than we thought
22:16 It seemed kind of silly
22:17 that they used that three safety defense,
22:19 and obviously they got out of it
22:20 after just like a series or two,
22:22 but they forced the Dolphins to throw underneath.
22:25 They tackled, and they didn't allow them
22:26 to get the big chunk plays,
22:27 and the run defense obviously did struggle.
22:30 There were some objectively bad refs
22:31 that you want to see them clean up,
22:32 and they're better than those,
22:34 but at the same time, this was a great offense
22:36 that they held to a pretty modest day for any good offense,
22:40 much less one that obviously
22:41 is putting up ridiculous numbers like that.
22:43 So it just makes you feel better about the Pat's defense,
22:45 and maybe a little more scared of the Dolphins
22:47 'cause they did that without Jalen Waddell.
22:50 - They did.
22:50 How many quarters would it take the Patriots
22:52 to put up 70 points against anybody?
22:54 - How many quarters are in a season?
22:55 (laughing)
22:58 How many points did the Patriots have this year?
23:02 - That many.
23:03 - Not 70.
23:04 Not 70, I'll tell you that.
23:07 What did they have?
23:07 They had how many coming in?
23:09 52 coming in plus 15.
23:12 Ooh, nope, they have 52 total.
23:15 Sorry, they're at 52 right now.
23:16 - I feel so bad for Garrett Bowles.
23:18 His post-game press conference was just heartbreaking.
23:22 - Yeah.
23:23 - Yeah.
23:24 - I'm just saying, all I've done here is lose.
23:27 He's a tackle.
23:28 It's not like he's a wide receiver or a diva.
23:31 That's a dude who's getting his ass kicked
23:32 every single day, and man, you gotta feel for the guy.
23:37 - Very quickly here, Taylor.
23:38 Dallas Cowboys next week, they lost, okay?
23:43 - Yeah, cards.
23:44 - Lost to the Cardinals.
23:48 Nobody saw that coming.
23:49 - That was pretty insane.
23:51 - Yeah, I don't know if Brandon Cooks played or not.
23:55 I've been seeing the stats.
23:56 I know that he was out last week,
23:58 which definitely impacted their ability
23:59 to put points on the board and move the ball.
24:02 Obviously, they did pretty well against the Jets.
24:04 But the passing game wasn't as good as you would expect
24:06 for my Cowboys passing attack.
24:08 Let me see the stats right now.
24:09 Wow, Brandon Cooks, two reception, 17 yards.
24:13 Damn.
24:14 I'll have to watch the tape and see what they did
24:17 'cause that's pretty wild.
24:18 It also makes you optimistic for the Patriots.
24:19 - That did not look great at all,
24:20 but their D-backs played really well.
24:24 - Well, Patriots have good DBs,
24:26 so hopefully this week, letting Jon Jones rest up
24:29 will pay off next week.
24:30 - Well, I think once again is you're gonna have,
24:33 you're facing another tough defense, obviously,
24:35 but things have changed now
24:37 with Diggs obviously out of the game.
24:39 I think the Patriots will do their best
24:40 to scheme up guys like Parsons.
24:42 There's other playmakers they have there,
24:44 but this game looks a little less daunting
24:48 based on everything we've seen outside
24:50 of what the Patriots are doing.
24:52 You saw what the Dolphins did
24:53 and you feel better about the Patriots'
24:54 defensive effort against them,
24:56 and you've seen Dallas really lay an egg here offensively
24:59 in their defense come down to earth some.
25:01 So this game I think was penciled in as an automatic L
25:05 and potentially an embarrassing one,
25:07 the way that the Cowboys are playing,
25:09 I think maybe less so this week.
25:11 Then again, they could be mad as hell
25:12 and things could get really ugly, but I don't know.
25:15 - And Patriots offense should be mad as hell after today.
25:17 So hopefully they match each other's energies.
25:19 - Yep, yep.
25:20 So Taylor, any closing thoughts here before you get tossed?
25:23 - Defense, have faith in the Patriots' defense.
25:27 Be excited that the offensive line looks better
25:29 and that the running back's got things going.
25:31 And be skeptical of the passing offense
25:33 'cause they have not given any reason to feel otherwise.
25:36 - Yeah, all right.
25:36 Last thing we wanna tell you,
25:38 and again, this is the correct thing here,
25:40 Factor Meals, that's what we wanna talk about.
25:42 factormeals.com/newsfeed50 if you go check that out.
25:47 No, we'll do Press Pass 50, sorry.

26:02 It's a really fast and easy way
26:04 to eat restaurant-quality food
26:06 that's literally delivered to your doorstep.
26:07 All you have to do is heat it up and go.
26:09 factormeals.com/presspass50.
26:11 Make sure you check that out.
26:13 Once again, Patriots defeat the Jets
26:16 in kind of a slop fest 1510.
26:18 Taylor's gonna dig deep into the film,
26:20 check things out and see what he likes here.
26:24 I felt like there was something else we wanted to touch on.
26:26 Is there anything left over?
26:27 - I don't know.
26:28 If so, I'll tweet it.
26:29 I'll make a video or something.
26:31 I'm genuinely afraid of that man coming back
26:33 and getting himself- - I'm watching.
26:34 I've got your back.
26:35 I'm literally watching your back.
26:37 And yes, I would agree with some of the comments here.
26:39 The Patriots don't have the speed that the Cardinals have,
26:41 and that's what got Dallas today,
26:44 with a couple of big plays there for sure.
26:47 And that was, you know, they really caught him off guard.
26:52 They really caught him off guard.
26:54 There's some warring here in the,
26:56 it's an automatic L5 and 12 season.
26:59 Some people are down.
27:00 I think people are more down than up on this one.
27:02 He's gone.
27:03 Doug Taylor, we gotta go.
27:04 He's out of here.
27:05 - I'm so sorry.
27:06 - I'm wrapping it up. - Yeah, okay.
27:07 Seriously, I'm gone.
27:07 Bye.
27:08 I love you all.
27:09 Thank you for tuning in.
27:10 - Taylor, Taylor, don't get arrested.
27:12 Guys, thank you for watching.
27:14 Check it out on our YouTube channel.
27:16 - I'm wrapping up right now. - Taylor's gonna go watch.
27:17 Look, look, he's gone.
27:18 He's already gone.
27:19 Bye, Taylor.
27:20 Sorry, I didn't want Taylor to get any trouble there.
27:23 Taylor at the Meadowlands, holding down the fort,
27:27 and that is a problem sometimes when you're on the road.
27:29 Those guys can get a little feisty
27:30 and they wanna toss you, and it's New York,
27:32 so they don't have much tolerance there.
27:34 I have been locked in a stadium once before.
27:37 That wasn't fun either.
27:39 Sometimes you can hang out really, really, really late,
27:42 but the television crew is doing all of your tapings
27:44 and all of your live stuff,
27:45 and yes, I have been locked inside a stadium.
27:48 So at least Taylor was, that guy was nice enough
27:51 to let him know that the time has come.
27:53 So again, thank you guys for watching.
27:55 Sorry it was so quick, but again, as we said,
27:58 Taylor was being run out of there.
28:03 More stuff coming tomorrow.
28:04 You're gonna get more podcasts,
28:05 Patriots Daily, Patriots Beat.
28:07 Taylor's gonna break down some film as well,
28:09 so make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel,
28:11 Patriots Press Pass. Thank you guys for hanging out. We do appreciate it. We'll see you guys.
