00:00 Hi, I'm Stephen and welcome back to another episode of Screenbabel Weekend Watch,
00:04 where I'll be talking you through what's coming up on streaming and TV this weekend and beyond.
00:09 So, we've got a busy Friday this week.
00:12 We have a fair few movies coming out, including Ballerina, which is a Netflix film.
00:18 It's a Korean drama about ex-bodyguard Okhye,
00:22 who sets out on a quest for revenge,
00:25 to avenge the life of her late best friend, who she wasn't able to save.
00:30 Another film out this weekend is Exorcist Believer.
00:33 This is a direct sequel to the first Exorcist, which came out 50 years ago.
00:38 And we'll also see the return of some of the original film's main cast,
00:42 including Ellen Berstein and Linda Blair.
00:46 It will deal with a new family who encounter a dominant possession
00:50 through their child and her best friend,
00:52 and call on the woman who has the most experience in dealing with demonic possessions,
00:57 Mrs. McNeil, from the first film.
00:59 It was originally due to come out on the 13th,
01:02 but had to be moved to avoid clashing with the Taylor Swift Erased Tour movie,
01:06 which is an ironic bit of trivia.
01:08 Another film coming out on Friday is Gulda, which is coming straight to cinemas.
01:13 It stars Helen Mirren as Gulda Meir, the fourth Prime Minister of Israel,
01:17 and looks at her role during the three-week Yom Kippur War in 1973
01:22 between Israel and several Arab states.
01:25 Then also on Friday, there is season two of Loki.
01:29 The ever-expanding Marvel Universe continues,
01:32 and we'll see Tom Hilston, Owen Wilson, controversially Jonathan Majors,
01:36 and K. Hugh Quan return as well.
01:39 This will be six episodes airing on Disney+ Weekly from Friday the 6th.
01:44 Then on to Sunday, and possibly the TV event of the year,
01:51 Big Brother returns after an almost four-year hiatus,
01:54 this time to ITV and ITV2.
01:58 So the launch episode will air on Sunday the 8th at 9pm on both ITV1 and ITV2,
02:05 but there will be 36 episodes in total,
02:07 and they will be airing after the first episode, just on ITV2, at 9pm.
02:12 And they'll be followed by an after-show as well,
02:16 and will be hosted by Eji Odudu and Will Best.
02:20 Last up this weekend, we have The Reckoning,
02:23 which is the controversial Jimmy Savile documentary series,
02:27 or drama series, I should say, starring Steve Coogan as the predator Jimmy Savile.
02:34 It will air in four episodes, with all episodes landing on iPlayer
02:38 on Monday the 9th of October, and being broadcast on BBC1 at 9pm on the 9th,
02:45 and the second episode on the 10th, and the last two episodes to be confirmed.
02:49 This will explore how Jimmy Savile got away with his disturbing crimes
02:53 over decades of his career.
02:57 Well, that's all from me. Thanks so much for listening,
03:00 and I'll see you next week for more weekend watch recommendations.
03:03 Thank you.
