00:00 Hi and welcome to another episode of Screenbabel Weekend Watch.
00:03 I'm Stephen, National Wales Digital Trends Writer,
00:05 and this week I'll be talking to you about everything coming out this weekend and beyond,
00:09 or at least the top shows that you need to be aware of.
00:13 So on Friday the 20th of October, we have season two of Bosch Legacy.
00:18 This is the Amazon Freeview flagship show for its free streaming service.
00:23 The second series follows retired homicide detective Harry Bosch,
00:27 now on a desperate search for his daughter Maddie,
00:30 an LAPD officer who was taken from her apartment
00:33 by a master sailor in the gripping season one, Cliffhanger, last year.
00:38 There's ten episodes in the new series,
00:41 and they will be released two episodes weekly every Friday on Amazon Freeview.
00:46 That's free to watch, you don't need an Amazon Prime subscription to do so.
00:52 Also on Friday we have season three of Upload.
00:55 This is also on Amazon, but this time with Prime,
00:59 so you will need a Prime subscription.
01:01 And again, two episodes weekly with ten episodes in total.
01:04 The series follows Nathan, a man whose consciousness gets uploaded
01:08 to a digital afterlife of his own choosing called Lakeview.
01:12 That's the general plot of the overall show,
01:15 but in the new season, Nathan and Nora start a new relationship
01:21 while they take down Freond, another afterlife place.
01:27 On Netflix on Friday, we have season seven of Elite,
01:31 the drama about three working class teens
01:34 who go to a Spanish private school and confront class prejudice.
01:41 This new season sees Omar decide to return to school following his internship,
01:48 or as a result of getting an internship.
01:52 And through his journey, we find out that other students at the school
01:57 are also going through their own dramas.
02:00 There's eight episodes in the season, and they'll all be released on Netflix on Friday.
02:05 And then the biggest film event of, well, since Barbenheimer, I guess,
02:11 Killers of the Flower Moon is coming to cinemas on Friday.
02:13 This is the new Martin Scorsese film.
02:16 If you know anything about Martin Scorsese, you'll be very excited.
02:19 It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, among others.
02:24 It follows the true story of the murder of members of the Osage tribe in the US
02:31 who were killed under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s.
02:35 It causes a major FBI investigation that involves J. Edgar Hoover,
02:39 the then head of the FBI.
02:41 It's a Martin Scorsese film, so of course it will be about
02:44 three and a half hours long, which is quite a slog,
02:49 but certainly one to watch, and only in cinemas thus far.
02:55 Then on Sunday, something a little bit different,
02:57 we have a life-affirming drama series, Three Little Birds,
03:01 about the Windrush generation.
03:03 It's written by Lenny Henry in collaboration with Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies.
03:09 It's based on stories that Lenny Henry's mother told him
03:12 about coming to the UK from Jamaica in the 1950s.
03:16 There's six episodes in the series, and it will air on ITV1 at 8pm on Sundays.
03:22 Quick shout-out for Monday night, when Masterchef The Professionals will return.
03:28 Three episodes will be airing weekly from the 23rd of October on BBC1.
03:34 It's expected that there'll be four weeks of heaps,
03:37 followed by the semi-finals and then the finals.
03:42 And then lastly, one to look out for is Netflix docuseries Get Gotti,
03:47 which comes to the platform on Tuesday.
03:50 It's told from both sides of the law, as the series follows the FBI's battle
03:56 to bring down the infamous mob boss John Gotti.
04:00 Well, that's all from me. Thanks very much for listening.
04:03 And join me again next week for more weekend watch recommendations. Thank you.
